Psalms 71

1 A Psalm according to Solomon.	1 (Salmo a Salomone).
2 Give your judgment, O God, to the king, and your justice to the king’s son, to judge your people with justice and your poor with judgment.	2 O Dio, concedi al re il tuo giudizio e la tua giustizia al figlio del re, affinchè giudichi con giustizia il popolo e con equità i tuoi poveri.
3 Let the mountains take up peace for the people, and the hills, justice.	3 Ricevano i monti la pace pel popolo e i colli la giustizia.
4 He will judge the poor of the people, and he will bring salvation to the sons of the poor. And he will humble the false accuser.	4 Egli renderà giustizia ai poveri del popolo, salverà i figlioli dei poveri ed umilierà il calunniatore.
5 And he will remain, with the sun and before the moon, from generation to generation.	5 Durerà quanto il sole e la luna, di generazione in generazione.
6 He will descend like rain upon fleece, and like showers showering upon the earth.	6 Discenderà come pioggia su vello, come acqua a gocce a gocce sulla terra.
7 In his days, justice will rise like the sun, with abundance of peace, until the moon is taken away.	7 Spunterà nei giorni di lui la giustizia e l'abbondanza della pace, finché non si spenga la luna.
8 And he will rule from sea to sea and from the river to the limits of the whole world.	8 Dominerà da mare a mare e dal fiume fino alla estremità della terra.
9 In his sight, the Ethiopians will fall prostrate, and his enemies will lick the ground.	9 Dinanzi a lui si prostreranno gli Etiopi, e i suoi nemici leccheranno la polvere.
10 The kings of Tarshish and the islands will offer gifts. The kings of Arabia and of Seba will bring gifts.	10 Il re di Tarsi e le isole porteranno tributi e i re degli Arabi e di Saba offriranno doni,
11 And all the kings of the earth shall adore him. All nations will serve him.	11 E lo adoreranno tutti i re della terra, tutti i popoli gli saran soggetti;
12 For he will free the poor from the powerful, and the poor one who has no helper.	12 Perchè Egli libererà il povero dal potente, il povero che non ha aiuto.
13 He will spare the poor and the indigent, and he will bring salvation to the souls of the poor.	13 Avrà pietà del povero e del bisognoso, e salverà la vita dei poveri.
14 He will redeem their souls from usuries and from iniquity, and their names shall be honorable in his sight.	14 Li libererà dalle usure e dalle ingiustizie, e sarà tenuto in onore davanti a lui il loro nome.
15 And he will live, and to him will be given from the gold of Arabia, and by him they will always adore. They will bless him all day long.	15 Egli vivrà, e gli sarà dato dell'oro dell'Arabia: sempre lo adoreranno, sempre lo benediranno.
16 And there will be a firmament on earth, at the summits of mountains: its fruits will be extolled above Lebanon, and those of the city will flourish like the grass of the earth.	16 E vi sarà sulla terra abbondanza di frumento, fin sulla vetta dei monti, al di sopra del Libano si alzeranno le sue spighe, e i cittadini fioriranno (moltiplicandosi) come l'erba dei prati.
17 May his name be blessed forever; may his name remain before the sun. And all the tribes of the earth will be blessed in him. All nations will magnify him.	17 Sarà benedetto pei secoli il suo nome: avanti il sole esiste il suo nome. In lui saran benedette tutte le tribù della terra, tutte le genti lo glorificheranno.
18 Blessed is the Lord, God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.	18 Benedetto il Signore Dio d'Israele, il solo che opera maraviglie.
19 And blessed is the name of his majesty in eternity. And all the earth will be filled with his majesty. Amen. Amen.	19 E benedetto il nome della sua maestà in eterno. Sia ripiena della sua gloria tutta la terra. Cosi sia! Cosi sia!
20 The praises of David, the son of Jesse, have reached an end.	20 Son finite le laudi di David figliolo di lesse.
