1 Après cela, le Seigneur désigna 72 autres et les envoya deux par deux en avant de lui dans toute villeet tout endroit où lui-même devait aller.	1 Then, after these things, the Lord also designated another seventy-two. And he sent them in pairs before his face, into every city and place where he was to arrive.
2 Et il leur disait: "La moisson est abondante, mais les ouvriers peu nombreux; priez donc le Maître dela moisson d'envoyer des ouvriers à sa moisson.	2 And he said to them: “Certainly the harvest is great, but the workers are few. Therefore, ask the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his harvest.
3 Allez! Voici que je vous envoie comme des agneaux au milieu de loups.	3 Go forth. Behold, I send you out like lambs among wolves.
4 N'emportez pas de bourse, pas de besace, pas de sandales, et ne saluez personne en chemin.	4 Do not choose to carry a purse, nor provisions, nor shoes; and you shall greet no one along the way.
5 En quelque maison que vous entriez, dites d'abord: Paix à cette maison!	5 Into whatever house you will have entered, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’
6 Et s'il y a là un fils de paix, votre paix ira reposer sur lui; sinon, elle vous reviendra.	6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you.
7 Demeurez dans cette maison-là, mangeant et buvant ce qu'il y aura chez eux; car l'ouvrier mérite sonsalaire. Ne passez pas de maison en maison.	7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking the things that are with them. For the worker is worthy of his pay. Do not choose to pass from house to house.
8 Et en toute ville où vous entrez et où l'on vous accueille, mangez ce qu'on vous sert;	8 And into whatever city you have entered and they have received you, eat what they set before you.
9 guérissez ses malades et dites aux gens: Le Royaume de Dieu est tout proche de vous.	9 And cure the sick who are in that place, and proclaim to them, ‘The kingdom of God has drawn near to you.’
10 Mais en quelque ville que vous entriez, si l'on ne vous accueille pas, sortez sur ses places et dites:	10 But into whatever city you have entered and they have not received you, going out into its main streets, say:
11 Même la poussière de votre ville qui s'est collée à nos pieds, nous l'essuyons pour vous la laisser.Pourtant, sachez-le, le Royaume de Dieu est tout proche.	11 ‘Even the dust which clings to us from your city, we wipe away against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has drawn near.’
12 Je vous dis que pour Sodome, en ce Jour-là, il y aura moins de rigueur que pour cette ville-là.	12 I say to you, that in that day, Sodom will be forgiven more than that city will be.
13 "Malheur à toi, Chorazeïn! Malheur à toi, Bethsaïde! Car, si les miracles qui ont eu lieu chez vousavaient eu lieu à Tyr et à Sidon, il y a longtemps que, sous le sac et assises dans la cendre, elles se seraientrepenties.	13 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that have been wrought in you, had been wrought in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in haircloth and ashes.
14 Aussi bien, pour Tyr et Sidon il y aura moins de rigueur, lors du Jugement, que pour vous.	14 Yet truly, Tyre and Sidon will be forgiven more in the judgment than you will be.
15 Et toi, Capharnaüm, crois-tu que tu seras élevée jusqu'au ciel? Jusqu'à l'Hadès tu descendras!	15 And as for you, Capernaum, who would be exalted even up to Heaven: you shall be submerged into Hell.
16 "Qui vous écoute m'écoute, qui vous rejette me rejette, et qui me rejette rejette Celui qui m'a envoyé."	16 Whoever hears you, hears me. And whoever despises you, despises me. And whoever despises me, despises him who sent me.”
17 Les 72 revinrent tout joyeux, disant: "Seigneur, même les démons nous sont soumis en ton nom!"	17 Then the seventy-two returned with gladness, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us, in your name.”
18 Il leur dit: "Je voyais Satan tomber du ciel comme l'éclair!	18 And he said to them: “I was watching as Satan fell like lightning from heaven.
19 Voici que je vous ai donné le pouvoir de fouler aux pieds serpents, scorpions, et toute la puissance del'Ennemi, et rien ne pourra vous nuire.	19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the powers of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
20 Cependant ne vous réjouissez pas de ce que les esprits vous sont soumis; mais réjouissez-vous de ceque vos noms se trouvent inscrits dans les cieux."	20 Yet truly, do not choose to rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
21 A cette heure même, il tressaillit de joie sous l'action de l'Esprit Saint et il dit: "Je te bénis, Père,Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, d'avoir caché cela aux sages et aux intelligents et de l'avoir révélé aux tout-petits.Oui, Père, car tel a été ton bon plaisir.	21 In the same hour, he exulted in the Holy Spirit, and he said: “I confess to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the prudent, and have revealed them to little ones. It is so, Father, because this way was pleasing before you.
22 Tout m'a été remis par mon Père, et nul ne sait qui est le Fils si ce n'est le Père, ni qui est le Père si cen'est le Fils, et celui à qui le Fils veut bien le révéler."	22 All things have been delivered to me by my Father. And no one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and those to whom the Son has chosen to reveal him.”
23 Puis, se tournant vers ses disciples, il leur dit en particulier: "Heureux les yeux qui voient ce que vousvoyez!	23 And turning to his disciples, he said: “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
24 Car je vous dis que beaucoup de prophètes et de rois ont voulu voir ce que vous voyez et ne l'ont pasvu, entendre ce que vous entendez et ne l'ont pas entendu!"	24 For I say to you, that many prophets and kings wanted to see the things that you see, and they did not see them, and to hear the things that you hear, and they did not hear them.”
25 Et voici qu'un légiste se leva, et lui dit pour l'éprouver: Maître, que dois-je faire pour avoir enhéritage la vie éternelle?"	25 And behold, a certain expert in the law rose up, testing him and saying, “Teacher, what must I do to possess eternal life?”
26 Il lui dit: "Dans la Loi, qu'y-a-t-il d'écrit? Comment lis-tu?"	26 But he said to him: “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
27 Celui-ci répondit: "Tu aimeras le Seigneur, ton Dieu, de tout ton coeur, de toute ton âme, de toute taforce et de tout ton esprit; et ton prochain comme toi-même" --	27 In response, he said: “You shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart, and from your whole soul, and from all your strength, and from all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
28 "Tu as bien répondu, lui dit Jésus; fais cela et tu vivras."	28 And he said to him: “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
29 Mais lui, voulant se justifier, dit à Jésus: "Et qui est mon prochain?"	29 But since he wanted to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 Jésus reprit: "Un homme descendait de Jérusalem à Jéricho, et il tomba au milieu de brigands qui,après l'avoir dépouillé et roué de coups, s'en allèrent, le laissant à demi mort.	30 Then Jesus, taking this up, said: “A certain man descended from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he happened upon robbers, who now also plundered him. And inflicting him with wounds, they went away, leaving him behind, half-alive.
31 Un prêtre vint à descendre par ce chemin-là; il le vit et passa outre.	31 And it happened that a certain priest was descending along the same way. And seeing him, he passed by.
32 Pareillement un lévite, survenant en ce lieu, le vit et passa outre.	32 And similarly a Levite, when he was near the place, also saw him, and he passed by.
33 Mais un Samaritain, qui était en voyage, arriva près de lui, le vit et fut pris de pitié.	33 But a certain Samaritan, being on a journey, came near him. And seeing him, he was moved by mercy.
34 Il s'approcha, banda ses plaies, y versant de l'huile et du vin, puis le chargea sur sa propre monture, lemena à l'hôtellerie et prit soin de lui.	34 And approaching him, he bound up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. And setting him on his pack animal, he brought him to an inn, and he took care of him.
35 Le lendemain, il tira deux deniers et les donna à l'hôtelier, en disant: Prends soin de lui, et ce que tuauras dépensé en plus, je te le rembourserai, moi, à mon retour.	35 And the next day, he took out two denarii, and he gave them to the proprietor, and he said: ‘Take care of him. And whatever extra you will have spent, I will repay to you at my return.’
36 Lequel de ces trois, à ton avis, s'est montré le prochain de l'homme tombé aux mains des brigands?"	36 Which of these three, does it seem to you, was a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?”
37 Il dit: "Celui-là qui a exercé la miséricorde envers lui." Et Jésus lui dit: "Va, et toi aussi, fais demême."	37 Then he said, “The one who acted with mercy toward him.” And Jesus said to him, “Go, and act similarly.”
38 Comme ils faisaient route, il entra dans un village, et une femme, nommée Marthe, le reçut dans samaison.	38 Now it happened that, while they were traveling, he entered into a certain town. And a certain woman, named Martha, received him into her home.
39 Celle-ci avait une soeur appelée Marie, qui, s'étant assise aux pieds du Seigneur, écoutait sa parole.	39 And she had a sister, named Mary, who, while sitting beside the Lord’s feet, was listening to his word.
40 Marthe, elle, était absorbée par les multiples soins du service. Intervenant, elle dit: "Seigneur, cela nete fait rien que ma soeur me laisse servir toute seule? Dis-lui donc de m'aider."	40 Now Martha was continually busying herself with serving. And she stood still and said: “Lord, is it not a concern to you that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore, speak to her, so that she may help me.”
41 Mais le Seigneur lui répondit: "Marthe, Marthe, tu te soucies et t'agites pour beaucoup de choses;	41 And the Lord responded by saying to her: “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled over many things.
42 pourtant il en faut peu, une seule même. C'est Marie qui a choisi la meilleure part; elle ne lui sera pasenlevée."	42 And yet only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the best portion, and it shall not be taken away from her.”
