JERUSALEM	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Et il leur disait: "En vérité je vous le dis, il en est d'ici présents qui ne goûteront pas la mort avantd'avoir vu le Royaume de Dieu venu avec puissance."	1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
2 Six jours après, Jésus prend avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean et les emmène seuls, à l'écart, sur unehaute montagne. Et il fut transfiguré devant eux	2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 et ses vêtements devinrent resplendissants, d'une telle blancheur qu'aucun foulon sur terre ne peutblanchir de la sorte.	3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
4 Elie leur apparut avec Moïse et ils s'entretenaient avec Jésus.	4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
5 Alors Pierre, prenant la parole, dit à Jésus: "Rabbi, il est heureux que nous soyons ici; faisons donctrois tentes, une pour toi, une pour Moïse et une pour Elie."	5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6 C'est qu'il ne savait que répondre, car ils étaient saisis de frayeur.	6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
7 Et une nuée survint qui les prit sous son ombre, et une voix partit de la nuée: "Celui-ci est mon Filsbien-aimé; écoutez-le."	7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
8 Soudain, regardant autour d'eux, ils ne virent plus personne, que Jésus seul avec eux.	8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
9 Comme ils descendaient de la montagne, il leur ordonna de ne raconter à personne ce qu'ils avaient vu,si ce n'est quand le Fils de l'homme serait ressuscité d'entre les morts.	9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
10 Ils gardèrent la recommandation, tout en se demandant entre eux ce que signifiait "ressusciter d'entreles morts."	10 And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
11 Et ils lui posaient cette question: "Pourquoi les scribes disent-ils qu'Elie doit venir d'abord?"	11 And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?
12 Il leur dit: "Oui, Elie doit venir d'abord et tout remettre en ordre. Et comment est-il écrit du Fils del'homme qu'il doit beaucoup souffrir et être méprisé?	12 And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
13 Mais je vous le dis: Elie est bien déjà venu et ils l'ont traité à leur guise, comme il est écrit de lui."	13 But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.
14 En rejoignant les disciples, ils virent une foule nombreuse qui les entourait et des scribes quidiscutaient avec eux.	14 And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
15 Et aussitôt qu'elle l'aperçut, toute la foule fut très surprise et ils accoururent pour le saluer.	15 And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.
16 Et il leur demanda: "De quoi disputez-vous avec eux?"	16 And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?
17 Quelqu'un de la foule lui dit: "Maître, je t'ai apporté mon fils qui a un esprit muet.	17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
18 Quand il le saisit, il le jette à terre, et il écume, grince des dents et devient raide. Et j'ai dit à tesdisciples de l'expulser et ils n'en ont pas été capables" --	18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
19 "Engeance incrédule, leur répond-il, jusques à quand serai-je auprès de vous? Jusques à quand voussupporterai-je? Apportez-le-moi."	19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
20 Et ils le lui apportèrent. Sitôt qu'il vit Jésus, l'esprit secoua violemment l'enfant qui tomba à terre et ils'y roulait en écumant.	20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21 Et Jésus demanda au père: "Combien de temps y a-t-il que cela lui arrive" - "Depuis son enfance, dit-il;	21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22 et souvent il l'a jeté soit dans le feu soit dans l'eau pour le faire périr. Mais si tu peux quelque chose,viens à notre aide, par pitié pour nous" --	22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23 "Si tu peux!... reprit Jésus; tout est possible à celui qui croit."	23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 Aussitôt le père de l'enfant de s'écrier: "Je crois! Viens en aide à mon peu de foi!"	24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25 Jésus, voyant qu'une foule affluait, menaça l'esprit impur en lui disant: "Esprit muet et sourd, je tel'ordonne, sors de lui et n'y rentre plus."	25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 Après avoir crié et l'avoir violemment secoué, il sortit, et l'enfant devint comme mort, si bien que laplupart disaient: "Il a trépassé!"	26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27 Mais Jésus, le prenant par la main, le releva et il se tint debout.	27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
28 Quand il fut rentré à la maison, ses disciples lui demandaient dans le privé: "Pourquoi nous autres,n'avons-nous pu l'expulser?"	28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
29 Il leur dit: "Cette espèce-là ne peut sortir que par la prière."	29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
30 Etant partis de là, ils faisaient route à travers la Galilée et il ne voulait pas qu'on le sût.	30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.
31 Car il instruisait ses disciples et il leur disait: "Le Fils de l'homme est livré aux mains des hommes etils le tueront, et quand il aura été tué, après trois jours il ressuscitera."	31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
32 Mais ils ne comprenaient pas cette parole et ils craignaient de l'interroger.	32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
33 Ils vinrent à Capharnaüm; et, une fois à la maison, il leur demandait: "De quoi discutiez-vous enchemin?"	33 And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
34 Eux se taisaient, car en chemin ils avaient discuté entre eux qui était le plus grand.	34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.
35 Alors, s'étant assis, il appela les Douze et leur dit: "Si quelqu'un veut être le premier, il sera le dernierde tous et le serviteur de tous."	35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
36 Puis, prenant un petit enfant, il le plaça au milieu d'eux et, l'ayant embrassé, il leur dit:	36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
37 "Quiconque accueille un des petits enfants tels que lui à cause de mon nom, c'est moi qu'il accueille;et quiconque m'accueille, ce n'est pas moi qu'il accueille, mais Celui qui m'a envoyé."	37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
38 Jean lui dit: "Maître, nous avons vu quelqu'un expulser des démons en ton nom, quelqu'un qui nenous suit pas, et nous voulions l'empêcher, parce qu'il ne nous suivait pas."	38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
39 Mais Jésus dit: "Ne l'en empêchez pas, car il n'est personne qui puisse faire un miracle en invoquantmon nom et sitôt après parler mal de moi.	39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40 Qui n'est pas contre nous est pour nous.	40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
41 "Quiconque vous donnera à boire un verre d'eau pour ce motif que vous êtes au Christ, en vérité, jevous le dis, il ne perdra pas sa récompense.	41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
42 "Mais si quelqu'un doit scandaliser l'un de ces petits qui croient, il serait mieux pour lui de se voirpasser autour du cou une de ces meules que tournent les ânes et d'être jeté à la mer.	42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
43 Et si ta main est pour toi une occasion de péché, coupe-la: mieux vaut pour toi entrer manchot dans laVie que de t'en aller avec tes deux mains dans la géhenne, dans le feu qui ne s'éteint pas.	43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
	44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 Et si ton pied est pour toi une occasion de péché, coupe-le: mieux vaut pour toi entrer estropié dans laVie que d'être jeté avec tes deux pieds dans la géhenne.	45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
	46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 Et si ton oeil est pour toi une occasion de péché, arrache-le: mieux vaut pour toi entrer borgne dans leRoyaume de Dieu que d'être jeté avec tes deux yeux dans la géhenne	47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 où leur ver ne meurt point et où le feu ne s'éteint point.	48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
49 Car tous seront salés par le feu.	49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50 C'est une bonne chose que le sel; mais si le sel devient insipide, avec quoi l'assaisonnerez-vous?Ayez du sel en vous-mêmes et vivez en paix les uns avec les autres."	50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
