Livre de Zacharie 6

JERUSALEM	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Je levai à nouveau les yeux et j'eus une vision. Voici: quatre chars sortaient d'entre les deuxmontagnes; et les montagnes étaient des montagnes d'airain.	1 Again I raised my eyes and saw four chariots coming out from between two mountains; and the mountains were of bronze.
2 Au premier char, il y avait des chevaux roux; au deuxième char, des chevaux noirs;	2 The first chariot had red horses, the second chariot black horses,
3 au troisième char, des chevaux blancs et au quatrième char, des chevaux pie vigoureux.	3 the third chariot white horses, and the fourth chariot spotted horses--all of them strong horses.
4 Prenant la parole, je dis à l'ange qui me parlait: "Que signifient ceux-ci, mon Seigneur?"	4 I asked the angel who spoke with me, "What are these, my lord?"
5 L'ange me répondit: "Ces quatre vents du ciel s'avancent après s'être tenus devant le Seigneur detoute la terre.	5 The angel said to me in reply, "These are the four winds of the heavens, which are coming forth after being reviewed by the LORD of all the earth."
6 Là où sont les chevaux noirs, ils s'avancent vers le pays du nord; les blancs s'avancent derrière eux,et les pie s'avancent vers le pays du midi."	6 The chariot with the black horses was turning toward the land of the north, the red and the white horses went after them, and the spotted ones went toward the land of the south.
7 Vigoureux, ils avançaient, impatients de parcourir la terre. Il leur dit: "Allez parcourir la terre." Etils parcoururent la terre.	7 As these strong horses emerged, eager to set about patrolling the earth, he said, "Go, patrol the earth!" Then, as they patrolled the earth,
8 Il m'appela et me dit: "Vois, ceux qui s'avancent vers le pays du nord vont faire descendre monesprit dans le pays du nord."	8 he called out to me and said, "See, they that go forth to the land of the north will make my spirit rest in the land of the north."
9 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:	9 This word of the LORD then came to me:
10 Fais une collecte auprès des exilés, de Heldaï, de Tobiyya et de Yedaya, puis (tu iras, toi, en cejour-là) tu iras chez Yoshiyya, fils de Cephanya, qui est arrivé de Babylone.	10 Take from the returned captives Heldai, Tobijah, Jedaiah; and go the same day to the house of Josiah, son of Zephaniah (these had come from Babylon).
11 Tu prendras l'argent et l'or, tu feras une couronne et tu la mettras sur la tête de Josué, fils deYehoçadaq, le grand prêtre.	11 Silver and gold you shall take, and make a crown; place it on the head of (Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest) Zerubbabel.
12 Puis tu lui parleras en ces termes: Ainsi parle Yahvé Sabaot. Voici un homme dont le nom estGerme; là où il est, quelque chose va germer (et il reconstruira le sanctuaire de Yahvé).	12 And say to him: Thus says the LORD of hosts: Here is a man whose name is Shoot, and where he is he shall sprout, and he shall build the temple of the LORD.
13 C'est lui qui reconstruira le sanctuaire de Yahvé, c'est lui qui portera les insignes royaux. Ilsiégera sur son trône en dominateur, et il y aura un prêtre à sa droite. Une paix parfaite régnera entre eux deux.	13 Yes, he shall build the temple of the LORD, and taking up the royal insignia, he shall sit as ruler upon his throne. The priest shall be put at his right hand, and between the two of them there shall be friendly understanding.
14 Quant à la couronne, elle sera pour Heldaï, Tobiyya, Yedaya et pour le fils de Cephanya, enmémorial de grâce dans le sanctuaire de Yahvé.	14 The crown itself shall be a memorial offering in the temple of the LORD in favor of Heldai, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and the son of Zephaniah.
15 Alors ceux qui sont au loin viendront reconstruire le sanctuaire de Yahvé, et vous saurez queYahvé Sabaot m'a envoyé vers vous. Cela se produira si vous écoutez parfaitement la voix de Yahvé votre Dieu.	15 And they who are from afar shall come and build the temple of the LORD, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. And if you heed carefully the voice of the LORD your God. . . .
