JERUSALEM	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 Le nombre des enfants d'Israël sera comme le sable de la mer, qu'on ne peut ni mesurer ni compter; aulieu même où on leur disait: "Vous n'êtes pas mon peuple", on leur dira: "Fils du Dieu vivant."	1 “Say to your brothers, ‘You are my people,’ and to your sister, ‘You have obtained mercy.’
2 Les enfants de Juda et les enfants d'Israël se réuniront, ils se donneront un chef unique et ilsdéborderont hors du pays; car il sera grand le jour de Yizréel.	2 Judge your mother, judge: for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband. Let her remove her fornications from before her face and her adulteries from between her breasts.
3 Dites à vos frères: "Mon Peuple", et à vos soeurs: "Celle dont on a pitié."	3 Otherwise, I may expose her nakedness and set her as on the day of her birth, and I may establish her as a wilderness and set her as an impassable land, and I may execute her with thirst.
4 Intentez procès à votre mère, intentez-lui procès! Car elle n'est pas ma femme, et moi je ne suis pas sonmari. Qu'elle écarte de sa face ses prostitutions, et d'entre ses seins ses adultères.	4 And I will not have mercy on her sons, for they are the sons of fornications.
5 Sinon je la déshabillerai toute nue et la mettrai comme au jour de sa naissance; je la rendrai pareille audésert, je la réduirai en terre aride, je la ferai mourir de soif,	5 For their mother has been fornicating; she who conceived them has been brought to ruin. For she said, ‘I will go after my lovers, who give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.’
6 et de ses enfants je n'aurai pas pitié, car ce sont des enfants de prostitution.	6 Because of this, behold, I will fence in your way with thorns, and I will surround it with a wall, and she will not find her paths.
7 Oui, leur mère s'est prostituée, celle qui les conçut s'est déshonorée; car elle a dit: je veux courir aprèsmes amants, qui me donnent mon pain et mon eau, ma laine et mon lin, mon huile et ma boisson.	7 And she will pursue her lovers, but she will not obtain them, and she will seek them, but she will not find them, and she will say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband, because it was to some extent better for me then, than it is now.’
8 C'est pourquoi je vais obstruer son chemin avec des ronces, je l'entourerai d'une barrière pour qu'ellene trouve plus ses sentiers;	8 And she did not know that I gave her grain and wine and oil, and that I increased her silver and gold, which they made into Baal.
9 elle poursuivra ses amants et ne les atteindra pas, elle les cherchera et ne les trouvera pas. Alors elledira: je veux retourner vers mon premier mari, car j'étais plus heureuse alors que maintenant.	9 For this reason, I will turn back, and I will take away my grain in its time and my wine in its time, and I will set free my wool and my flax, which had covered her disgrace.
10 Elle n'a pas reconnu que c'est moi qui lui donnais le froment, le vin nouveau et l'huile fraîche, qui luiprodiguais cet argent et cet or qu'ils ont employés pour Baal!	10 And now, I will reveal her foolishness by the eyes of her lovers, and no man will rescue her from my hand.
11 C'est pourquoi je reprendrai mon froment en son temps et mon vin nouveau en sa saison; je retireraima laine et mon lin qui devaient couvrir sa nudité.	11 And I will cause all her joy to cease: her solemnities, her new moons, her sabbaths, and all her feast dates.
12 Puis je dévoilerai son infamie aux yeux de ses amants et personne ne la délivrera de ma main.	12 And I will corrupt her vines and her fig trees, about which she said, ‘These rewards, they are mine, my lovers have given them to me.’ And I will place her in a narrow forest, and the beasts of the field will devour her.
13 Je ferai cesser toutes ses réjouissances, ses fêtes, ses néoménies, ses sabbats et toutes ses solennités.	13 And I will inflict on her the days of the Baals, for whom she burned incense, and ornamented herself with earrings and necklace, and went after her lovers, and forgot about me,” says the Lord.
14 Je dévasterai sa vigne et son figuier, dont elle disait: Ils sont le salaire que m'ont donné mes amants;j'en ferai un hallier et la bête sauvage les dévorera.	14 “Because of this, behold, I will attract her, and I will lead her into the wilderness, and I will speak to her heart.
15 Je la châtierai pour les jours des Baals auxquels elle brûlait de l'encens, quand elle se parait de sonanneau et de son collier et qu'elle courait après ses amants; et moi, elle m'oubliait! - Oracle de Yahvé.	15 And I will give to her, from the same place, her vinedressers, and the valley of Achor as a passage of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth, and as in the days of her ascension from the land of Egypt.
16 C'est pourquoi je vais la séduire, je la conduirai au désert et je parlerai à son coeur.	16 And it will be in that day,” says the Lord, “that she will call me, ‘My Husband,’ and she will no longer call me, ‘My Baal.’
17 Là, je lui rendrai ses vignobles, et je ferai du val d'Akor une porte d'espérance. Là, elle répondracomme aux jours de sa jeunesse, comme au jour où elle montait du pays d'Egypte.	17 And I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and she will no longer remember their name.
18 Il adviendra en ce jour-là - oracle de Yahvé - que tu m'appelleras "Mon mari", et tu ne m'appellerasplus "Mon Baal."	18 And in that day, I will strike a deal with them, with the beasts of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creatures of the earth. And I will crush the bow and the sword, and I will wipe away war from the earth. And I will let them sleep securely.
19 J'écarterai de sa bouche les noms des Baals, et ils ne seront plus mentionnés par leur nom.	19 And I will betroth you to me forever, and I will betroth you to me in justice and judgment, and in mercy and compassion.
20 Je conclurai pour eux une alliance, en ce jour-là, avec les bêtes des champs, avec les oiseaux du cielet les reptiles du sol; l'arc, l'épée, la guerre, je les briserai et les bannirai du pays, et eux, je les ferai reposer ensécurité.	20 And I will wed you to me in faith, and you will know that I am the Lord.
21 Je te fiancerai à moi pour toujours; je te fiancerai dans la justice et dans le droit, dans la tendresse etla miséricorde;	21 And this will happen in that day: I will listen closely,” says the Lord. “I will hear the heavens, and they will hear the earth.
22 je te fiancerai à moi dans la fidélité, et tu connaîtras Yahvé.	22 And the land will pay attention to the grain, and the wine, and the oil; and these will hear Jezreel.
23 Il adviendra, en ce jour-là, que je répondrai - oracle de Yahvé - je répondrai aux cieux et euxrépondront à la terre;	23 And I will plant her for me in the land, and I will have mercy on her, though she had been called Without Mercy.
24 la terre répondra au froment, au vin nouveau et à l'huile fraîche, et eux répondront à Yizréel.	24 And I will say to Not My People, ‘You are my people,’ and they will say, ‘You are my God.’ ”
25 Je la sèmerai dans le pays, j'aurai pitié de Lo-Ruhamah, je dirai à Lo-Ammi: "Tu es mon peuple" etlui dira: "Mon Dieu!"
