| 1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit: | 1 The LORD said to Moses, |
| 2 Parle aux Israélites, dis-leur: Si une femme est enceinte et enfante un garçon, elle sera impurependant sept jours comme au temps de la souillure de ses règles. | 2 "Say to the people of Israel, If a woman conceives, and bears a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as at the time of her menstruation, she shall be unclean. |
| 3 Au huitième jour on circoncira le prépuce de l'enfant | 3 And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. |
| 4 et pendant 33 jours encore elle restera à purifier son sang. Elle ne touchera à rien de consacré etn'ira pas au sanctuaire jusqu'à ce que soit achevé le temps de sa purification. | 4 Then she shall continue for thirty-three days in the blood of her purifying; she shall not touch any hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying are completed. |
| 5 Si elle enfante une fille, elle sera impure pendant deux semaines, comme pendant ses règles, etrestera de plus 66 jours à purifier son sang. | 5 But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her menstruation; and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying for sixty-six days. |
| 6 Quand sera achevée la période de sa purification, que ce soit pour un garçon ou pour une fille,elle apportera au prêtre, à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous, un agneau d'un an pour un holocauste et unpigeon ou une tourterelle en sacrifice pour le péché. | 6 "And when the days of her purifying are completed, whether for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the door of the tent of meeting a lamb a year old for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering, |
| 7 Le prêtre l'offrira devant Yahvé, accomplira sur elle le rite d'expiation et elle sera purifiée de sonflux de sang. Telle est la loi concernant la femme qui enfante un garçon ou une fille. | 7 and he shall offer it before the LORD, and make atonement for her; then she shall be clean from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who bears a child, either male or female. |
| 8 Si elle est incapable de trouver la somme nécessaire pour une tête de petit bétail, elle prendradeux tourterelles ou deux pigeons, l'un pour l'holocauste et l'autre en sacrifice pour le péché. Le prêtre fera surelle le rite d'expiation et elle sera purifiée. | 8 And if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean." |
