Livre d'Isaïe 60

JERUSALEM	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Debout! Resplendis! car voici ta lumière, et sur toi se lève la gloire de Yahvé.	1 Arise, be enlightened, O Jerusalem: for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 Tandis que les ténèbres s'étendent sur la terre et l'obscurité sur les peuples, sur toi se lève Yahvé, et sagloire sur toi paraît.	2 For behold darkness shall cover the earth, and a mist the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 Les nations marcheront à ta lumière et les rois à ta clarté naissante.	3 And the Gentiles shall walk in thy light, and kings in the brightness of thy rising.
4 Lève les yeux aux alentours et regarde: tous sont rassemblés, ils viennent à toi. Tes fils viennent deloin, et tes filles sont portées sur la hanche.	4 Lift up thy eyes round about, and see: all these are gathered together, they are come to thee: thy sons shah come from afar, and thy daughters shall rise up at thy side.
5 Alors, tu verras et seras radieuse, ton coeur tressaillira et se dilatera, car les richesses de la merafflueront vers toi, et les trésors des nations viendront chez toi.	5 Then shalt thou see, and abound, and thy heart shall wonder and be enlarged, when the multitude of the sea shall be converted to thee, the. strength of the Gentiles shall come to thee.
6 Des multitudes de chameaux te couvriront, des jeunes bêtes de Madiân et d'Epha; tous viendront deSaba, apportant l'or et l'encens et proclamant les louanges de Yahvé.	6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Madian and Epha: all they from Saba shall come, bringing gold and frankincense: and shewing forth praise to the Lord.
7 Tous les troupeaux de Qédar se rassembleront chez toi, les béliers de Nebayot seront à ton service, ilsmonteront à mon autel en sacrifice agréable, et je glorifierai ma maison de splendeur.	7 All the flocks of Cedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nabaioth shall minister to thee: they shall be offered upon my acceptable altar, and I will glorify the house of my majesty.
8 Qu'est-ce que cela qui vole comme un nuage, comme des colombes vers leurs colombiers?	8 Who are these, that fly as clouds, and as doves to their windows?
9 C'est en moi que les îles espèrent: les bateaux de Tarsis ont pris la tête pour ramener de loin tes fils,avec leur argent et leur or, à cause du nom de Yahvé ton Dieu, du Saint d'Israël qui t'a glorifiée.	9 For, the islands wait for me, and the ships of the sea in the beginning: that I may bring thy sons from afar: their silver, and their gold with them, to the name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
10 Les fils de l'étranger rebâtiront tes remparts, et leurs rois te serviront. Car dans ma colère je t'avaisfrappée, mais dans ma bienveillance j'ai eu pitié de toi.	10 And the children of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister to thee: for in my wrath have I struck thee, and in my reconciliation have I had mercy upon thee.
11 Tes portes seront toujours ouvertes, ni le jour ni la nuit on ne les fermera, pour qu'on apporte cheztoi les richesses des nations et qu'on introduise leurs rois.	11 And thy gates shall be open continually: they shall not be shut day nor night, that the strength of the Gentiles may be brought to thee, and their kings may be brought.
12 Car la nation et le royaume qui ne te servent pas périront, et les nations seront exterminées.	12 For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve thee, shall perish: and the Gentiles shall be wasted with desolation.
13 La gloire du Liban viendra chez toi, le cyprès, le platane et le buis tous ensemble, pour glorifier lelieu de ton sanctuaire, pour que j'honore le lieu où je me tiens.	13 The glory of Libanus shall come to thee, the Ar tree, and the box tree, and the pine tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary: and I will glorify the place of my feet.
14 Ils s'approcheront de toi, humblement, les fils de tes oppresseurs, ils se prosterneront à tes pieds,tous ceux qui te méprisaient, et ils t'appelleront: "Ville de Yahvé", "Sion du Saint d'Israël."	14 And the children of them that afflict thee, shall come bowing down to thee, and all that slandered thee shall worship the steps of thy feet, and shall call thee the city of the Lord, the Sion of the Holy One of Israel.
15 Au lieu que tu sois délaissée et haïe, sans personne qui passe, je ferai de toi un objet d'éternellefierté, une source de joie, d'âge en âge.	15 Because thou wast forsaken, and hated, and there was none that passed through thee, I will make thee to be an everlasting glory, a joy unto generation and generation:
16 Tu suceras le lait des nations, tu suceras les richesses des rois. Et tu sauras que c'est moi, Yahvé, quite sauve, que ton rédempteur, c'est le Puissant de Jacob.	16 And thou shalt suck the milk of the Gentiles, and thou shalt be nursed with the breasts of kings: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
17 Au lieu de bronze, je ferai venir de l'or, au lieu de fer, je ferai venir de l'argent, au lieu de bois, dubronze, au lieu de pierre, du fer; comme magistrature j'instituerai la Paix et comme gouvernants, la Justice.	17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver: and for wood brass, and for stones iron: and I will make thy visitation peace, and thy overseers justice.
18 On n'entendra plus parler de violence dans ton pays, de ravages ni de ruines dans tes frontières. Tuappelleras tes remparts "Salut" et tes portes "Louange."	18 Iniquity shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction in thy borders, and salvation shall possess thy walls, and praise thy gates.
19 Tu n'auras plus le soleil comme lumière, le jour, la clarté de la lune ne t'illuminera plus: Yahvé serapour toi une lumière éternelle, et ton Dieu sera ta splendeur.	19 Thou shalt no more have the sun for thy light by day, neither shall the brightness of the moon enlighten thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and thy God for thy glory.
20 Ton soleil ne se couchera plus, et ta lune ne disparaîtra plus, car Yahvé sera pour toi une lumièreéternelle, et les jours de ton deuil seront accomplis.	20 Thy sun shall go down no more, and thy moon shall not decrease: for the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.
21 Ton peuple, rien que des justes, possédera le pays à jamais, rejeton de mes plantations, oeuvre demes mains, pour me glorifier.	21 And thy people shall be all just, they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hand to glorify me.
22 Le plus petit deviendra un millier, le plus chétif une nation puissante. Moi, Yahvé, en temps vouluj'agirai vite.	22 The least shall become a thousand, and a little one a most strong nation: I the Lord will suddenly do this thing in its time.
