| 1 Ah! vous tous qui avez soif, venez vers l'eau, même si vous n'avez pas d'argent, venez, achetez etmangez; venez, achetez sans argent, sans payer, du vin et du lait. | 1 "Ho, every one who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. |
| 2 Pourquoi dépenser de l'argent pour autre chose que du pain, et ce que vous avez gagné, pour ce qui nerassasie pas? Ecoutez, écoutez-moi et mangez ce qui est bon; vous vous délecterez de mets succulents. | 2 Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Hearken diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in fatness. |
| 3 Prêtez l'oreille et venez vers moi, écoutez et vous vivrez. Je conclurai avec vous une allianceéternelle, réalisant les faveurs promises à David. | 3 Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David. |
| 4 Voici que j'ai fait de lui un témoin pour des peuples, un chef et un législateur de peuples. | 4 Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples. |
| 5 Voici que tu appelleras une nation que tu ne connais pas, une nation qui ne te connaît pas viendra verstoi, à cause de Yahvé, ton Dieu, et pour le Saint d'Israël, car il t'a glorifié. | 5 Behold, you shall call nations that you know not, and nations that knew you not shall run to you, because of the LORD your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you. |
| 6 Cherchez Yahvé pendant qu'il se laisse trouver, invoquez-le pendant qu'il est proche. | 6 "Seek the LORD while he may be found, call upon him while he is near; |
| 7 Que le méchant abandonne sa voie et l'homme criminel ses pensées, qu'il revienne à Yahvé qui aurapitié de lui, à notre Dieu car il est riche en pardon. | 7 let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. |
| 8 Car vos pensées ne sont pas mes pensées, et mes voies ne sont pas vos voies, oracle de Yahvé. | 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. |
| 9 Autant les cieux sont élevés au-dessus de la terre, autant sont élevées mes voies au-dessus de vosvoies, et mes pensées au-dessus de vos pensées. | 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. |
| 10 De même que la pluie et la neige descendent des cieux et n'y retournent pas sans avoir arrosé laterre, sans l'avoir fécondée et l'avoir fait germer pour fournir la semence au semeur et le pain à manger, | 10 "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and return not thither but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, |
| 11 ainsi en est-il de la parole qui sort de ma bouche, elle ne revient pas vers moi sans effet, sans avoiraccompli ce que j'ai voulu et réalisé l'objet de sa mission. | 11 so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it. |
| 12 Oui, vous partirez dans la joie et vous serez ramenés dans la paix. Les montagnes et les collinespousseront devant vous des cris de joie, et tous les arbres de la campagne battront des mains. | 12 "For you shall go out in joy, and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. |
| 13 Au lieu de l'épine croîtra le cyprès, au lieu de l'ortie croîtra le myrte, ce sera pour Yahvé un renom,un signe éternel qui ne périra pas. | 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall be to the LORD for a memorial, for an everlasting sign which shall not be cut off." |
