1 Malheur aux fils rebelles! oracle de Yahvé. Ils font des projets qui ne viennent pas de moi, ils tramentdes alliances que mon esprit n'inspire pas, accumulant péché sur péché.	1 “Woe to the sons of apostasy!” says the Lord. For you would take advice, but not from me. And you would begin to weave, but not by my spirit. Thus do you add sin upon sin!
2 Ils partent pour descendre en Egypte, sans m'avoir consulté, pour se mettre sous la protection duPharaon et s'abriter à l'ombre de l'Egypte.	2 You are walking so as to descend into Egypt, and you have not sought answers from my mouth, instead hoping for assistance from the strength of Pharaoh and placing trust in the shadow of Egypt.
3 Mais la protection du Pharaon tournera à votre honte, l'abri de l'ombre de l'Egypte à votre confusion.	3 And so, the strength of Pharaoh will be your confusion, and trust in the shadow of Egypt will be your disgrace.
4 Car ses princes ont été à Coân et ses messagers ont atteint Hanès.	4 For your leaders were at Tanis, and your messengers have traveled even as far as Hanes.
5 Tout le monde est déçu par un peuple qui ne peut secourir, qui n'apporte ni aide ni profit, maisdéception et confusion.	5 They have all been confounded because of a people who were not able to offer profit to them, who were not of assistance, nor of other usefulness, except to offer confusion and reproach.
6 Oracle sur les bêtes du Négeb. Au pays d'angoisse et de détresse, de la lionne et du lion rugissant, dela vipère et du dragon volant, ils apportent sur l'échine des ânes leurs richesses, sur la bosse des chameaux leurstrésors, vers un peuple qui ne peut secourir:	6 The burden of the beasts in the south. In a land of tribulation and anguish, from which go forth the lioness and the lion, the viper and the flying king snake, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of beasts of burden, and their valuables upon the humps of camels, to a people who are not able to offer profit to them.
7 l'Egypte dont l'aide est vanité et néant; c'est pourquoi je lui ai donné ce nom: Rahab la déchue.	7 For Egypt will offer assistance, but without purpose or success. Therefore, concerning this, I cried out: “It is only arrogance! Remain calm.”
8 Maintenant va, écris-le sur une tablette, grave-le sur un document, que ce soit pour un jour à venir,pour toujours et à jamais.	8 Now, therefore, enter and write for them upon a tablet, and note it diligently in a book, and this shall be a testimony in the last days, and even unto eternity.
9 Car c'est un peuple révolté, des fils menteurs, des fils qui refusent d'écouter la Loi de Yahvé,	9 For they are a people who provoke to wrath, and they are lying sons, sons unwilling to listen to the law of God.
10 qui ont dit aux voyants: "Vous ne verrez pas", et aux prophètes: "Vous ne percevrez pour nous riende clair. Dites-nous des choses flatteuses, ayez des visions trompeuses.	10 They say to the seers, “Do not see,” and to those who behold: “Do not behold for us the things that are right. Speak to us of pleasing things. See errors for us.
11 Eloignez-vous du chemin, écartez-vous du sentier, ôtez de devant nous le Saint d'Israël."	11 Take me from the way. Avert me from the path. Let the Holy One of Israel cease from before our face.”
12 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Saint d'Israël: Parce que vous avez rejeté cette parole et que vous vousêtes fiés à la fraude et à la déloyauté pour vous y appuyer,	12 Because of this, thus says the Holy One of Israel: Since you have rejected this word, and you have hoped in calumny and rebellion, and since you have depended upon these things,
13 à cause de cela, cette faute sera pour vous comme une brèche qui se produit, une saillie en haut d'unrempart qui soudain, d'un seul coup, vient à s'écrouler.	13 for this reason, this iniquity will be to you like a breach that has fallen, and like a gap in a high wall. For its destruction will happen suddenly, when it is not expected.
14 Il va le briser comme on brise une jarre de potier, mise en pièces sans pitié, et l'on ne trouvera pasdans ses débris un tesson pour racler le feu du foyer ou pour puiser l'eau d'un bassin.	14 And it will be crushed, just as the earthen vessel of a potter is destroyed by a sharp blow. And not even a fragment of its earthenware will be found, which might carry a little fire from the hearth, or which might draw a little water from a hollow.
15 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé, le Saint d'Israël: Dans la conversion et le calme était votre salut,dans la sérénité et la confiance était votre force, mais vous n'avez pas voulu!	15 For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: If you return and are quiet, you shall be saved. Your strength will be found in silence and in hope. But you are not willing!
16 Vous avez dit: "Non, car nous fuirons à cheval!" Eh bien! oui, vous fuirez. Et encore: "Nous auronsdes montures rapides!" Eh bien! vos poursuivants seront rapides.	16 And you have said: “Never! Instead, we will flee by horseback.” For this reason, you will be put to flight. And you have said, “We will climb upon swift ones.” For this reason, those who pursue you will be even swifter.
17 Mille trembleront devant la menace d'un seul, devant la menace de cinq vous vous enfuirez, jusqu'àce qu'il reste de vous comme un mât en haut de la montagne, comme un signal sur la colline.	17 A thousand men will flee in terror from the face of one, and you will flee in terror from the face of five, until you who have been left behind are like the mast of a ship at the top of a mountain, or like a sign on a hill.
18 C'est pourquoi Yahvé attend l'heure de vous faire grâce, c'est pourquoi il se lèvera pour vous prendreen pitié, car Yahvé est un Dieu de justice; bienheureux tous ceux qui espèrent en lui.	18 Therefore, the Lord waits, so that he may take pity on you. And therefore, he will be exalted for sparing you. For the Lord is the God of judgment. Blessed are all those who wait for him.
19 Oui, peuple de Sion, qui habites Jérusalem, tu n'auras plus à pleurer, car il va te faire grâce à causedu cri que tu pousses, dès qu'il l'entendra il te répondra.	19 For the people of Zion will live in Jerusalem. Bitterly, you will not weep. Mercifully, he will take pity on you. At the voice of your outcry, as soon as he hears, he will respond to you.
20 Le Seigneur vous donnera le pain de l'angoisse et l'eau rationnée, celui qui t'instruit ne se cacheraplus, et tes yeux verront celui qui t'instruit.	20 And the Lord will give you thick bread and accessible water. And he will not cause your teacher to fly away from you anymore. And your eyes will behold your instructor.
21 Tes oreilles entendront une parole prononcée derrière toi: "Telle est la voie, suivez-la, que vousalliez à droite ou à gauche."	21 And your ears will listen to the word of one admonishing you behind your back: “This is the way! Walk in it! And do not turn aside, neither to the right, nor to the left.”
22 Tu jugeras impur le placage de tes idoles d'argent et le revêtement de tes statues d'or; tu les rejetterascomme un objet immonde: "Hors d'ici!" diras-tu.	22 And you will defile the plates of your silver graven images and the vestment of your gold molten idols. And you will throw these things away like the uncleanness of a menstruating woman. You will say to it, “Go away!”
23 Et il donnera la pluie pour la semence que tu sèmeras en terre, et le pain, produit du sol, sera riche etnourrissant. Ton bétail paîtra, ce jour-là, sur de vastes pâtures.	23 And wherever you sow seed upon the earth, rain will be given to the seed. And bread from the grain of the earth will be very plentiful and full. In that day, the lamb will pasture in the spacious land of your possession.
24 Les boeufs et les ânes, qui travaillent le sol, mangeront comme fourrage de l'oseille sauvage que l'onétend à la pelle et à la fourche.	24 And your bulls, and the colts of the donkeys that work the ground, will eat a mix of grains like that winnowed on the threshing floor.
25 Sur toute haute montagne et sur toute colline élevée, il y aura des ruisseaux et des cours d'eau aujour du grand carnage, quand s'écrouleront les forteresses.	25 And there will be, on every lofty mountain, and on every elevated hill, rivers of running water, in the day of the slaughter of many, when the tower will fall.
26 Alors la lumière de la lune sera comme la lumière du soleil, et la lumière du soleil sera sept fois plusforte, comme la lumière de sept jours, au jour où Yahvé pansera la blessure de son peuple et guérira la trace descoups reçus.	26 And the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, like the light of seven days, in the day when the Lord will bind the wound of his people, and when he will heal the stroke of their scourge.
27 Voici que le nom de Yahvé vient de loin, ardente est sa colère, pesante sa menace. Ses lèvresdébordent de fureur, sa langue est comme un feu dévorant.	27 Behold, the name of the Lord arrives from far away. His fury is burning and heavy to bear. His lips have been filled with indignation, and his tongue is like a devouring fire.
28 Son souffle est comme un torrent débordant qui monte jusqu'au cou, pour secouer les nations d'unesecousse fatale, mettre un mors d'égarement aux mâchoires des peuples.	28 His Spirit is like a torrent, inundating, even as high as the middle of the neck, in order to reduce the nations to nothing, along with the bridle of error that was in the jaws of the people.
29 Le chant sera sur vos lèvres comme en une nuit de fête, et la joie sera dans vos coeurs commelorsqu'on marche au son de la flûte pour aller à la montagne de Yahvé, le rocher d'Israël.	29 There will be a song for you, as in the night of a sanctified solemnity, and a joy of heart, as when one travels with music to arrive at the mountain of the Lord, to the Strong One of Israel.
30 Yahvé fera entendre la majesté de sa voix, il fera sentir le poids de son bras, dans l'ardeur de sacolère accompagnée d'un feu dévorant, de la foudre, d'averses et de grêlons.	30 And the Lord will cause the glory of his voice to be heard, and, with a threatening fury and a devouring flame of fire, he will reveal the terror of his arm. He will crush with the whirlwind and with hailstones.
31 Car à la voix de Yahvé, Assur sera terrorisé, il le frappera de sa baguette;	31 For at the voice of the Lord, Assur will dread being struck with the staff.
32 chaque fois qu'il passera, ce sera la férule du châtiment que Yahvé lui infligera, au son destambourins et des kinnors, et dans les combats qu'il livrera, la main levée, contre lui.	32 And when the passage of the staff has been begun, the Lord will cause it to rest upon him, with timbrels and harps. And with special battles, he will fight against them.
33 Car depuis longtemps est préparé Tophèt, -- il sera aussi pour le roi -- profond et large son bûcher,feu et bois y abondent; le souffle de Yahvé, comme un torrent de soufre, va y mettre le feu.	33 For a burning place, deep and wide, has been prepared from yesterday, prepared by the King. Its nourishment is fire and much wood. The breath of the Lord, like a torrent of brimstone, kindles it.
