1 "Tu ne colporteras pas de fausses rumeurs. Tu ne prêteras pas la main au méchant en témoignantinjustement.	1 "You shall not repeat a false report. Do not join the wicked in putting your hand, as an unjust witness, upon anyone.
2 Tu ne prendras pas le parti du plus grand nombre pour commettre le mal, ni ne témoigneras dans unprocès en suivant le plus grand nombre pour faire dévier le droit,	2 Neither shall you allege the example of the many as an excuse for doing wrong, nor shall you, when testifying in a lawsuit, side with the many in perverting justice.
3 ni ne favoriseras le miséreux dans son procès.	3 You shall not favor a poor man in his lawsuit.
4 Si tu rencontres le boeuf ou l'âne de ton ennemi qui vague, tu dois le lui ramener.	4 "When you come upon your enemy's ox or ass going astray, see to it that it is returned to him.
5 Si tu vois l'âne de celui qui te déteste tomber sous sa charge, cesse de te tenir à l'écart; avec lui tu luiviendras en aide.	5 When you notice the ass of one who hates you lying prostrate under its burden, by no means desert him; help him, rather, to raise it up.
6 Tu ne feras pas dévier le droit de ton pauvre dans son procès.	6 "You shall not deny one of your needy fellow men his rights in his lawsuit.
7 Tu te tiendras loin d'une cause mensongère. Ne fais pas périr l'innocent ni le juste et ne justifie pasle coupable.	7 You shall keep away from anything dishonest. The innocent and the just you shall not put to death, nor shall you acquit the guilty.
8 Tu n'accepteras pas de présents, car le présent aveugle les gens clairvoyants et ruine les causes desjustes.	8 Never take a bribe, for a bribe blinds even the most clear-sighted and twists the words even of the just.
9 Tu n'opprimeras pas l'étranger. Vous savez ce qu'éprouve l'étranger, car vous-mêmes avez étéétrangers au pays d'Egypte.	9 You shall not oppress an alien; you well know how it feels to be an alien, since you were once aliens yourselves in the land of Egypt.
10 "Pendant six ans tu ensemenceras la terre et tu en engrangeras le produit.	10 "For six years you may sow your land and gather in its produce.
11 Mais la septième année, tu la laisseras en jachère et tu en abandonneras le produit; les pauvres deton peuple le mangeront et les bêtes des champs mangeront ce qu'ils auront laissé. Tu feras de même pour tavigne et pour ton olivier.	11 But the seventh year you shall let the land lie untilled and unharvested, that the poor among you may eat of it and the beasts of the field may eat what the poor leave. So also shall you do in regard to your vineyard and your olive grove.
12 Pendant six jours tu feras tes travaux, et le septième jour tu chômeras, afin que se repose ton boeufet ton âne et que reprennent souffle le fils de ta servante ainsi que l'étranger.	12 "For six days you may do your work, but on the seventh day you must rest, that your ox and your ass may also have rest, and that the son of your maidservant and the alien may be refreshed.
13 Vous prendrez garde à tout ce que je vous ai dit et vous ne ferez pas mention du nom d'autresdieux: qu'on ne l'entende pas sortir de ta bouche.	13 Give heed to all that I have told you. "Never mention the name of any other god; it shall not be heard from your lips.
14 "Tu me fêteras trois fois l'an.	14 "Three times a year you shall celebrate a pilgrim feast to me.
15 Tu observeras la fête des Azymes. Pendant sept jours tu mangeras des azymes, comme je te l'aiordonné, au temps fixé du mois d'Abib, car c'est en ce mois que tu es sorti d'Egypte. On ne se présentera pasdevant moi les mains vides.	15 You shall keep the feast of Unleavened Bread. As I have commanded you, you must eat unleavened bread for seven days at the prescribed time in the month of Abib, for it was then that you came out of Egypt. No one shall appear before me empty-handed.
16 Tu observeras la fête de la Moisson, des prémices de tes travaux de semailles dans les champs, etla fête de la Récolte, en fin d'année, quand tu rentreras des champs le fruit de tes travaux.	16 You shall also keep the feast of the grain harvest with the first of the crop that you have sown in the field; and finally, the feast at the fruit harvest at the end of the year, when you gather in the produce from the fields.
17 Trois fois l'an, toute ta population mâle se présentera devant le Seigneur Yahvé.	17 Thrice a year shall all your men appear before the Lord GOD.
18 Tu ne sacrifieras pas avec du pain levé le sang de ma victime, et la graisse de ma fête ne sera pasgardée jusqu'au lendemain.	18 "You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; nor shall the fat of my feast be kept overnight till the next day.
19 Tu apporteras à la maison de Yahvé ton Dieu le meilleur des prémices de ton terroir. Tu ne feraspas cuire un chevreau dans le lait de sa mère.	19 The choicest first fruits of your soil you shall bring to the house of the LORD, your God. "You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.
20 "Voici que je vais envoyer un ange devant toi, pour qu'il veille sur toi en chemin et te mène au lieuque je t'ai fixé.	20 "See, I am sending an angel before you, to guard you on the way and bring you to the place I have prepared.
21 Révère-le et écoute sa voix, ne lui sois pas rebelle, il ne pardonnerait pas vos transgressions carmon Nom est en lui.	21 Be attentive to him and heed his voice. Do not rebel against him, for he will not forgive your sin. My authority resides in him.
22 Mais si tu écoutes bien sa voix et fais ce que je dis, je serai l'ennemi de tes ennemis et l'adversairede tes adversaires.	22 If you heed his voice and carry out all I tell you, I will be an enemy to your enemies and a foe to your foes.
23 Mon ange ira devant toi et te mènera chez les Amorites, les Hittites, les Perizzites, les Cananéens,les Hivvites, les Jébuséens, et je les exterminerai.	23 "My angel will go before you and bring you to the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusites; and I will wipe them out.
24 Tu ne te prosterneras pas devant leurs dieux ni ne les serviras; tu ne feras pas ce qu'ils font, mais tudétruiras leurs dieux et tu briseras leurs stèles.	24 Therefore, you shall not bow down in worship before their gods, nor shall you make anything like them; rather, you must demolish them and smash their sacred pillars.
25 Vous servirez Yahvé votre Dieu, alors je bénirai ton pain et ton eau et je détournerai de toi lamaladie.	25 The LORD, your God, you shall worship; then I will bless your food and drink, and I will remove all sickness from your midst;
26 Nulle femme dans ton pays n'avortera ou ne sera stérile et je laisserai s'achever le nombre de tesjours.	26 no woman in your land will be barren or miscarry; and I will give you a full span of life.
27 Je sèmerai devant toi ma terreur, je jetterai la confusion chez tous les peuples où tu pénétreras, et jeferai détaler tous tes ennemis.	27 "I will have the fear of me precede you, so that I will throw into panic every nation you reach. I will make all your enemies turn from you in flight,
28 J'enverrai devant toi des frelons qui chasseront les Hivvites, les Cananéens et les Hittites devanttoi.	28 and ahead of you I will send hornets to drive the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites out of your way.
29 Je ne les chasserai pas devant toi en une seule année, de peur que le pays ne devienne un désert oùse multiplieraient à tes dépens les bêtes des champs.	29 But not in one year will I drive them all out before you; else the land will become so desolate that the wild beasts will multiply against you.
30 Je les chasserai devant toi peu à peu, jusqu'à ce que tu aies assez fructifié pour hériter du pays.	30 Instead, I will drive them out little by little before you, until you have grown numerous enough to take possession of the land.
31 Je fixerai tes frontières de la mer des Roseaux à la mer des Philistins, et du désert au Fleuve, car jelivrerai entre vos mains les habitants du pays, et tu les chasseras devant toi.	31 I will set your boundaries from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert to the River; all who dwell in this land I will hand over to you to be driven out of your way.
32 Tu ne feras pas alliance avec eux ni avec leurs dieux.	32 You shall not make a covenant with them or their gods.
33 Ils n'habiteront pas ton pays, de peur qu'ils ne te fassent pécher contre moi, car tu servirais leursdieux et ce serait pour toi un piège."	33 They must not abide in your land, lest they make you sin against me by ensnaring you into worshiping their gods."
