| 1 J'ai dit : Ecoutez, princes de Jacob et chefs de la maison d'Israël. N'est-ce pas à vous de connaître la justice ? | 1 And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment? |
| 2 Vous avez de la haine pour le bien, et vous aimez le mal ; vous leur arrachez violemment la peau (de dessus eux), et la chair de dessus les os. | 2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones; |
| 3 Ils ont mangé la chair de mon peuple, ils lui ont arraché la peau et ils lui ont brisé les os ; ils les ont hachés (coupés en morceaux) comme (pour les faire cuire) dans une chaudière, et comme de la viande (qu'on met) dans une marmite. | 3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron. |
| 4 Alors ils crieront au Seigneur, et il ne les exaucera pas ; il leur cachera son visage en ce temps-là, comme le mérite l'iniquité (à cause de la malice) de leurs actions (inventions, note). | 4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. |
| 5 Ainsi parle le Seigneur au sujet des prophètes qui séduisent mon peuple, qui mordent avec leurs dents et prêchent la paix, et qui, si quelqu'un ne met rien dans leur bouche, déclarent contre lui la guerre sainte (un combat). | 5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him. |
| 6 C'est pourquoi vous avez (aurez) la (une) nuit au lieu de vision, et les (des) ténèbres au lieu de révélation ; le soleil se couchera pour les prophètes, et le jour s'obscurcira pour eux. | 6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. |
| 7 Ceux qui ont des visions seront confus, et les devins couverts de honte ; et ils se couvriront tous le visage, parce qu'il n'y a(ura) pas de réponse de Dieu. | 7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. |
| 8 Mais pour moi j'ai été rempli de la force de l'Esprit du Seigneur, de justice et de vigueur, pour annoncer à Jacob son crime, et à Israël son péché. | 8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin. |
| 9 Ecoutez ceci, princes de la maison de Jacob, et juges de la maison d'Israël, vous qui avez la justice en abomination, et qui renversez (pervertissez) tout ce qui est droit, | 9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. |
| 10 qui bâtissez Sion dans le sang, et Jérusalem dans l'iniquité. | 10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. |
| 11 Ses princes juge(aie)nt pour des présents, ses prêtres enseign(ai)ent pour un salaire, et ses prophètes devinent (prédisaient) pour de l'argent ; et ils se repos(ai)ent sur le Seigneur, en disant : Le Seigneur n'est-il pas au milieu de nous ? Ces maux ne viendront pas sur nous. | 11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us. |
| 12 C'est pourquoi, à cause de vous, Sion sera labourée comme un champ, et Jérusalem sera comme un monceau de pierres, et la montagne du temple deviendra un sommet boisé (une haute forêt). | 12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest. |
