| 1 (Et un) L'esprit m'enleva, et me conduisit à la porte orientale de la maison du Seigneur, qui regarde le soleil levant ; et voici qu'il y avait vingt-cinq hommes à l'entrée de la porte, et je vis au milieu d'eux Jézonias, fils d'Azur, et Pheltias, fils de Banaïas, princes du peuple. | 1 And the Spirit lifted me up, and he brought me to the east gate of the house of the Lord, which looks toward the rising of the sun. And behold, at the entrance to the gate were twenty-five men. And I saw, in their midst, Jaazaniah, the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah, the son of Benaiah, leaders of the people. |
| 2 Et le Seigneur me dit : Fils de (d'un) l'homme, ce sont ces hommes qui ont des pensées d'iniquité, et qui forment des desseins pernicieux (un conseil pervers) dans cette ville, | 2 And he said to me: “Son of man, these are men who devise iniquity. And they offer a wicked counsel in this city, |
| 3 en disant : Nos maisons ne sont-elles pas bâties depuis longtemps ? Cette ville est la chaudière, et nous sommes la viande (chair). | 3 saying: ‘Was it so long ago that houses were being built? This city is a cooking pot, and we are the meat.’ |
| 4 C'est pourquoi prophétise à leur sujet ; prophétise, fils de (d'un) l'homme. | 4 Therefore, prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.” |
| 5 Alors l'esprit du Seigneur se précipita sur moi, et me dit : Parle. Voici ce que dit le Seigneur : Vous avez ainsi parlé, maison d'Israël, et je connais les pensées de votre cœur. | 5 And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and he said to me: “Speak: Thus says the Lord: So have you spoken, O house of Israel. And I know the thoughts of your heart. |
| 6 Vous avez tué beaucoup de monde dans cette ville, et vous avez rempli ses rues de cadavres (tués). | 6 You have killed very many in this city, and you have filled its streets with the slain. |
| 7 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Vos morts, ceux que vous avez étendus au milieu de la ville, ceux-là sont la viande (chair), et la ville est la chaudière, et (mais) vous, je vous ferai sortir du milieu d'elle. | 7 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Your slain, whom you have placed in its midst, these are the meat, and this city is the cooking pot. And I will draw you out of its midst. |
| 8 Vous craignez (avez craint) l'épée, et je ferai venir sur vous l'épée, dit le Seigneur Dieu. | 8 You have dread the sword, and so I will lead the sword over you, says the Lord God. |
| 9 Je vous chasserai du milieu de cette ville ; je vous livrerai entre les mains des ennemis, et j'exercerai sur vous des jugements. | 9 And I will cast you out of its midst, and I will give you over to the hand of the enemies, and I will execute judgments among you. |
| 10 Vous tomberez par l'épée ; je vous jugerai sur les frontières d'Israël, et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur. | 10 You will fall by the sword. I will judge you within the borders of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord. |
| 11 Cette ville ne sera pas pour vous une chaudière, et vous ne serez pas la viande (pas comme des chairs) au milieu d'elle ; je vous jugerai sur les frontières d'Israël. | 11 This city will not be a cooking pot for you, and you will not be like meat in its midst. I will judge you within the borders of Israel. |
| 12 Et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur, parce que vous n'avez pas marché dans mes préceptes et que vous n'avez pas observé mes ordonnances, mais que vous avez agi selon les lois (coutumes) des nations qui vous environnent. | 12 And you shall know that I am the Lord. For you have not walked in my precepts, and you have not accomplished my judgments. Instead, you have acted in accord with the judgments of the Gentiles, who are all around you.” |
| 13 Comme je prophétisais, Pheltias, fils de Banaïas, mourut. Et je tombai le visage contre terre, et je criai à haute voix, en disant : Hélas ! hélas ! hélas ! Seigneur Dieu, exterminez-vous (c'est vous qui consumez) les restes d'Israël ? | 13 And it happened that, when I prophesied, Pelatiah, the son of Benaiah, died. And I fell upon my face, and I cried out with a loud voice, and I said: “Alas, alas, alas, O Lord God! Will you cause the consummation of the remnant of Israel?” |
| 14 Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée en ces termes : | 14 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: |
| 15 Fils de (d'un) l'homme, ce sont tes frères, tes frères, (les hommes,) tes proches, et toute la maison d'Israël, à qui les habitants de Jérusalem ont dit : Eloignez-vous du Seigneur ; c'est à nous que la terre a été donnée en possession. | 15 “Son of man, your brothers, the men among your close relatives, your brothers and the entire house of Israel, are all among those to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said: ‘Withdraw far from the Lord; the earth has been given to us as a possession.’ |
| 16 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Quoique je les aie envoyés au loin parmi les nations, et que je les aie dispersés en divers pays, je ferai pour eux un petit sanctuaire (leur serai en petite sanctification) dans les pays où ils sont allés (venus). | 16 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Since I have caused them to be far away, among the Gentiles, and since I have dispersed them among the lands, I will be a little sanctuary for them within the lands to which they have gone. |
| 17 Dis-leur donc : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Je vous rassemblerai du milieu des peuples, et je vous réunirai des pays où vous avez été dispersés, et je vous donnerai la terre d'Israël. | 17 Because of this, say to them: Thus says the Lord God: I will gather you from among the peoples, and I will unite you, from the lands into which you were dispersed, and I will give the soil of Israel to you. |
| 18 Ils y entreront, et ils en enlèveront tous les sujets de chute (scandales) et toutes les (ses) abominations. | 18 And they shall go to that place, and they shall remove all the offenses and all its abominations from that place. |
| 19 Et je leur donnerai un même cœur, et je mettrai dans leurs entrailles un esprit nouveau ; j'ôterai de leur chair le cœur de pierre, et je leur donnerai un cœur de chair ; | 19 And I will give them one heart. And I will distribute a new spirit to their interior. And I will take away the heart of stone from their body. And I will give them a heart of flesh. |
| 20 afin qu'ils marchent dans mes préceptes, qu'ils observent et pratiquent mes ordonnances, et qu'ils soient mon peuple, et que je sois leur Dieu. | 20 So may they may walk in my precepts, and observe my judgments, and accomplish them. And so may they be my people, and I will be their God. |
| 21 Quant à ceux dont le cœur marche après le(ur)s sujets de chute (pierres d'achoppement) et le(ur)s abominations, je ferai retomber leursœuvres sur leurs têtes, dit le Seigneur Dieu. | 21 But as for those whose heart walks after their offenses and abominations, I will set their own way upon their head, says the Lord God.” |
| 22 Alors les chérubins élevèrent leurs ailes, et les roues s'élevèrent avec eux, et la gloire du Dieu d'Israël était sur eux ; | 22 And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels with them. And the glory of the God of Israel was above them. |
| 23 et la gloire du Seigneur monta du milieu de la ville, et s'arrêta sur la montagne qui est à l'orient de la ville. | 23 And the glory of the Lord ascended from the midst of the city and stood above the mountain, which is to the east of the city. |
| 24 Puis (un) l'esprit m'enleva et me ramena en Chaldée, vers les déportés, en vision par l'Esprit de Dieu ; et la vision que j'avais eue se dissipa. | 24 And the Spirit lifted me up, and he brought me into Chaldea, to those of the transmigration, in a vision, in the Spirit of God. And the vision that I had seen was raised up, away from me. |
| 25 Et je dis aux déportés toutes les choses que le Seigneur m'avait montrées. | 25 And I spoke, to those of the transmigration, all the words of the Lord that he had revealed to me. |
