Isaiah 11

1 A shoot wil spring from the stock of Jesse, a new shoot will grow from his roots.	1 Ma un rampollo nascerà dal tronco di Jesse, un virgulto spunterà dalle sue radici.
2 On him wil rest the spirit of Yahweh, the spirit of wisdom and insight, the spirit of counsel and power,the spirit of knowledge and fear of Yahweh:	2 Su di lui riposerà lo spirito di Jahvè, spirito di sapienza e di intelligenza, spirito di consiglio e di fortezza, spirito di conoscenza e di timore di Jahvè.
3 his inspiration wil lie in fearing Yahweh. His judgement wil not be by appearances. his verdict notgiven on hearsay.	3 Si compiacerà del timore di Jahvè. Non giudicherà secondo le apparenze né prenderà decisioni per sentito dire;
4 He will judge the weak with integrity and give fair sentence for the humblest in the land. He will strikethe country with the rod of his mouth and with the breath of his lips bring death to the wicked.	4 ma giudicherà con giustizia i miseri e prenderà decisioni equanimi per gli oppressi del paese. Percuoterà il violento con la verga della sua bocca; con il soffio delle sue labbra ucciderà l’empio.
5 Uprightness wil be the belt around his waist, and constancy the belt about his hips.	5 Fascia ai suoi lombi sarà la giustizia, cintura dei suoi fianchi la fedeltà.
6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the panther lie down with the kid, calf, lion and fat-stock beast together,with a little boy to lead them.	6 Il lupo dimorerà insieme con l’agnello, la pantera si sdraierà accanto al capretto, toro e leoncello pascoleranno insieme; un ragazzino li guiderà.
7 The cow and the bear will graze, their young wil lie down together. The lion wil eat hay like the ox.	7 Vacca e orsa pascoleranno insieme; si sdraieranno insieme i loro piccoli. Il leone, come il bue, si ciberà di paglia.
8 The infant wil play over the den of the adder; the baby wil put his hand into the viper's lair.	8 Il lattante si divertirà sul nascondiglio dell’aspide; un bambino metterà la mano nel covo di serpenti velenosi.
9 No hurt, no harm wil be done on all my holy mountain, for the country wil be full of knowledge ofYahweh as the waters cover the sea.	9 Non agiranno più iniquamente né deprederanno in tutto il mio santo monte, perché la conoscenza di Jahvè riempirà il paese, come le acque riempiono il mare.
10 That day, the root of Jesse, standing as a signal for the peoples, will be sought out by the nations andits home will be glorious.	10 In quel giorno avverrà: la radice di Jesse si ergerà a vessillo per i popoli; le genti la cercheranno con ansia; la sua dimora sarà gloriosa.
11 When that day comes, the Lord wil raise his hand a second time to ransom the remnant of his people,those stil left, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, Cush and Elam, from Shinar, Hamath and the islands ofthe Sea.	11 Avverrà in quel giorno: Il Signore stenderà di nuovo la mano per riprendere il resto del suo popolo superstite dall’Assiria e dall’Egitto, da Patros, da Chush e dall’Elam, da Sennaar e da Hamat e dalle isole del mare.
12 He wil hoist a signal for the nations and assemble the outcasts of Israel; he wil gather the scatteredpeople of Judah from the four corners of the earth.	12 Egli isserà un vessillo per le nazioni e raccoglierà i cacciati di Israele, radunerà i dispersi di Giuda dai quattro angoli della terra.
13 Then Ephraim's jealousy wil cease and Judah's enemies be suppressed; Ephraim wil no longer bejealous of Judah nor Judah any longer hostile to Ephraim,	13 Finirà la gelosia di Efraim e gli oppressori di Giuda saranno sterminati; Efraim non invidierà più Giuda e Giuda non osteggerà più Efraim.
14 but together they will swoop on the Philistines' back, to the west, and together pil age the people ofthe east. Edom and Moab wil be subject to their sway and the Ammonites wil obey them.	14 Voleranno verso occidente addosso ai Filistei, deprederanno insieme i figli dell’oriente, stenderanno le mani su Edom e su Moab e i figli di Ammon saranno loro sudditi.
15 Then Yahweh wil dry up the gulf of the Sea of Egypt, he will raise his hand against the River with theheat of his breath. He wil divide it into seven streams for them to cross dry-shod.	15 Jahvè asciugherà la lingua del mare d’Egitto e stenderà la mano contro il fiume, lo dividerà in sette bracci così che si possa attraversare con i sandali.
16 And there wil be a highway for the remnant of his people for those stil left, from Assyria, as there wasfor Israel when he came out of Egypt.	16 Si formerà una strada per il resto del suo popolo che sarà superstite nell’Assiria, come avvenne a Israele, quando uscì dalla terra d’Egitto.
