Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD; cry out to the rock of our salvation. | 1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. |
Let us greet him with a song of praise, joyfully sing out our psalms. | 2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. |
For the LORD is the great God, the great king over all gods, | 3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. |
Whose hand holds the depths of the earth; who owns the tops of the mountains. | 4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. |
The sea and dry land belong to God, who made them, formed them by hand. | 5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. |
Enter, let us bow down in worship; let us kneel before the LORD who made us. | 6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. |
For this is our God, whose people we are, God's well-tended flock. Oh, that today you would hear his voice: | 7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, |
Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as on the day of Massah in the desert. | 8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: |
There your ancestors tested me; they tried me though they had seen my works. | 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. |
Forty years I loathed that generation; I said: "This people's heart goes astray; they do not know my ways." | 10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: |
Therefore I swore in my anger: "They shall never enter my rest." | 11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. |
