1 For the leader; with stringed instruments, "upon the eighth." A psalm of David.	1 Salmo di Davide, dato al capo de’ Musici, in Neghinot, sopra Seminit SIGNORE, non correggermi nella tua ira, E non gastigarmi nel tuo cruccio.
2 Do not reprove me in your anger, LORD, nor punish me in your wrath.	2 Abbi pietà di me, o Signore; perciocchè io son tutto fiacco; Sanami, Signore; perciocchè le mie ossa son tutte smarrite.
3 Have pity on me, LORD, for I am weak; heal me, LORD, for my bones are trembling.	3 L’anima mia eziandio è grandemente smarrita; E tu, Signore, infino a quando?
4 In utter terror is my soul-- and you, LORD, how long...?	4 Rivolgiti, o Signore; riscuoti l’anima mia; Salvami, per amor della tua benignità.
5 Turn, LORD, save my life; in your mercy rescue me.	5 Perciocchè nella morte non v’è memoria di te; Chi ti celebrerà nel sepolcro?
6 For who among the dead remembers you? Who praises you in Sheol?	6 Io mi affanno ne’ miei sospiri; Io allago tutta notte il mio letto, E bagno la mia lettiera colle mie lagrime.
7 I am wearied with sighing; all night long tears drench my bed; my couch is soaked with weeping.	7 L’occhio mio è consumato di fastidio; Egli è invecchiato per cagione di tutti i miei nemici
8 My eyes are dimmed with sorrow, worn out because of all my foes.	8 Ritraetevi da me, voi tutti operatori d’iniquità; Perciocchè il Signore ha udita la voce del mio pianto.
9 Away from me, all who do evil! The LORD has heard my weeping.	9 Il Signore ha udita la mia supplicazione; Il Signore ha accettata la mia orazione.
10 The LORD has heard my prayer; the LORD takes up my plea.	10 Tutti i miei nemici sieno confusi, e grandemente smarriti; Voltin le spalle, e sieno svergognati in un momento
11 My foes will be terrified and disgraced; all will fall back in sudden shame.
