1 Now after the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and numbered the porters and singing men, and Levites:	1 Ora, dopo che le mura furono riedificate, e che io ebbi posate le reggi, e che furono costituiti i portinai, i cantori ed i Leviti ne’ loro ufficii,
2 I commanded Hanani my brother, and Hananias ruler of the house of Jerusalem, (for he seemed as a sincere man, and one that feared God above the rest,)	2 io commisi la guardia di Gerusalemme ad Hanani, mio fratello; e ad Hanania, mastro del palazzo conciossiachè veramente egli fosse uomo leale, e temesse Iddio più che molti altri;
3 And I said to them: Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened till the sun be hot. And while they were yet standing by, the gates were shut, and barred: and I set watchmen of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one by their courses, and every mall over against his house.	3 e dissi loro: Non apransi le porte di Gerusalemme, finchè il sole non si cominci a riscaldare; e mentre quelli che avranno fatta la guardia saranno ancora quivi presenti, serrinsi le porte, ed abbarratele voi; ed oltre a ciò, dispongansi le guardie degli abitanti di Gerusalemme, ciascuno alla sua vicenda, e ciascuno dirimpetto alla sua casa.
4 And the city was very wide and great, and the people few in the midst thereof, and the houses were not built.	4 Or la città era ampia e grande, e vi era poco popolo dentro, e le case non erano riedificate
5 But God had put in my heart, and I assembled the princes and magistrates, and common people, to number them: and I found a book of the number of them who came up at first, and therein it was found written:	5 E L’IDDIO mio mi mise in cuore d’adunar gli uomini notabili, i magistrati, e il popolo, per descriverli secondo le lor genealogie. Ed io trovai il libro della descrizione di quelli che erano ritornati la prima volta; ed in esso trovai scritto così:
6 These are the children of the province, who came up from the captivity of them that had been carried away, whom Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon had carried away, and who returned into Judea, every one into his own city.	6 Questi son quei della provincia che ritornarono dalla cattività, d’infra i prigioni che Nebucadnesar, re di Babilonia, trasportò; ed i quali se ne rivennero in Gerusalemme, e in Giuda, ciascuno alla sua città;
7 Who came with Zorobabel, Josue, Nehemias, Azarias, Raamias, Nahamani, Mardochai, Belsam, Mespharath, Begoia, Nahum, Baana. The number of the men of the people of Israel:	7 i quali vennero con Zorobabel, Iesua, Neemia, Azaria, Raamia, Nahamani, Mardocheo, Bilsan, Misperet, Bigvai, Nehum, e Baana. Il numero degli uomini del popolo d’Israele, era questo:
8 The children of Pharos, two thousand one hundred seventy-two.	8 I figliuoli di Paros erano duemila censettantadue;
9 The children of Sephatia, three hundred seventy-two.	9 i figliuoli di Sefatia, trecensettantadue;
10 The children of Area, six hundred fifty-two.	10 i figliuoli di Ara, seicencinquantadue;
11 The children of Phahath Moab of the children of Josue and Joab, two thousand eight hundred eighteen.	11 i figliuoli di Pahat-Moab, divisi ne’ figliuoli di Iesua, e di Ioab, duemila ottocendiciotto;
12 The children of Elam, one thousand two hundred fifty-four.	12 i figliuoli di Elam, mille dugencinquantaquattro;
13 The children of Zethua, eight hundred forty-five.	13 i figliuoli di Zattu, ottocenquarantacinque;
14 The children of Zachai, seven hundred sixty.	14 i figliuoli di Zaccai, settecensessanta;
15 The children of Bannui, six hundred forty-eight.	15 i figliuoli di Binnui, seicenquarantotto;
16 The children of Bebai, six hundred twenty-eight.	16 i figliuoli di Bebai, seicenventotto;
17 The children of Azgad, two thousand three hundred twenty-two.	17 i figliuoli di Azgad, duemila trecenventidue;

40 The children of Emmer, one thousand fifty-two.	40 i figliuoli d’Immer, mille cinquantadue;

44 Of Oduia, seventy-four. The singing men:	44 De’ cantori: i figliuoli di Asaf, cenquarantotto.
45 The children of Asaph, a hundred forty-eight.	45 De’ portinai: i figliuoli di Sallum, i figliuoli di Ater, i figliuoli di Talmon, i figliuoli di Accub, i figliuoli di Hatita, ed i figliuoli di Sobai, centrentotto.
46 The porters: the children of Sellum, the children of Ater, the children of Telmon, the children of Accub, the children of Hatita, the children of Sobai: a hundred thirty-eight.	46 De’ Netinei: i figliuoli di Siha, i figliuoli di Hasufa, i figliuoli di Tabbaot,
47 The Nathinites: the children of Soha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tebbaoth,	47 i figliuoli di Cheros, i figliuoli di Sia, i figliuoli di Padon,
48 The children of Ceros, the children of Siaa, the children of Phadon, the children of Lebana, the children of Hagaba, the children of Selmai,	48 i figliuoli di Lebana, i figliuoli di Hagaba, i figliuoli di Salmai,

54 The children of Besloth, the children of Mahida, the children of Harsa,	54 i figliuoli di Baslit, i figliuoli di Mehida, i figliuoli di Harsa,
55 The children of Bercos, the children of Sisara, the children of Thema,	55 i figliuoli di Barcos, i figliuoli di Sisera, i figliuoli di Tema,
56 The children of Nasia, the children of Hatipha,	56 i figliuoli di Nesia, i figliuoli di Hatifa.
57 The children of the servants of Solomon, the children of Sothai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Pharida,	57 De’ figliuoli de’ servi di Salomone: i figliuoli di Sotai, i figliuoli di Soferet, i figliuoli di Perida,
58 The children of Jahala, the children of Darcon, the children of Jeddel,	58 i figliuoli di Iaala, i figliuoli di Darcon, i figliuoli di Ghiddel,
59 The children of Saphatia, the children of Hatil, the children of Phochereth, who was born of Sabaim, the son of Amon.	59 i figliuoli di Sefatia, i figliuoli di Hattil, i figliuoli di Pocheret-hassebaim, i figliuoli di Amon.
60 All the Nathinites, and the children of the servants of Solomon, three hundred ninety-two.	60 Tutti i Netinei, e i figliuoli de’ servi di Salomone, erano trecennovantadue.
61 And these are they that came up from Telmela, Thelharsa, Cherub, Addon, and Emmer: and could not shew the house of their fathers, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel.	61 Or costoro, cioè Cherub, Addon ed Immer, i quali vennero di Tel-mela, e di Tel-harsa, non poterono dimostrar la casa loro paterna, nè la lor progenie se erano Israeliti.
62 The children of Dalaia, the children of Tobia, the children of Necoda, six hundred forty-two.	62 Come anche i figliuoli di Delaia, i figliuoli di Tobia, i figliuoli di Necoda, in numero di seicenquarantadue.
63 And of the priests, the children of Habia, the children of Accos, the children of Berzellai, who took a wife of the daughters of Berzellai the Galaadite, and he was called by their name.	63 E de’ sacerdoti, i figliuoli di Habaia, i figliuoli di Cos, i figliuoli di Barzillai, il quale prese per moglie una delle figliuole di Barzillai Galaadita, e si chiamò del nome loro.
64 These sought their writing in the record, and found it not: and they were cast out of the priesthood.	64 Costoro cercarono il nome loro scritto fra quelli ch’erano descritti nelle genealogie, ma non furono trovati; laonde furono appartati dal sacerdozio, come persone non consacrate.
65 And Athersatha said to them, that they should not eat of the holies of holies, until there stood up a priest learned and skilful.	65 Ed Hattirsata disse loro che non mangiassero delle cose santissime, finchè si presentasse un sacerdote con Urim e Tummim.
66 All the multitude as it were one man, forty-two thousand three hundred sixty,	66 Questa raunanza, tutta insieme, era di quarantaduemila trecensessanta;
67 Beside their menservants and womenservants, who were seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven: and among them singing men, and singing women, two hundred forty-five.	67 oltre a’ lor servi e serve, ch’erano settemila trecentrentasette, fra i quali v’erano dugenquarantacinque cantori e cantatrici.
68 Their horses, seven hundred thirtysix: their mules two hundred forty-five:	68 I lor cavalli erano settecentrentasei; i lor muli dugenquarantacinque;
69 Their camels, four hundred thirtyfive, their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.	69 i cammelli quattrocentrentacinque; gli asini seimila settecenventi.
70 And some of the heads of the families gave unto the work. Athersatha gave into the treasure a thousand drama of gold, fifty bowls, and five hundred and thirty garments for priests.	70 Or una parte de’ capi delle famiglie paterne fecero doni per l’opera. Hattirsata diede nel tesoro mille dramme d’oro, cinquanta bacini, e cinquecentrenta robe da sacerdoti.
71 And some of the heads of families gave to the treasure of the work, twenty thousand drama of gold, and two thousand two hundred pounds of silver.	71 Ed altri dei capi delle famiglie paterne diedero nel tesoro della fabbrica ventimila dramme d’oro, e duemila dugento mine d’argento.
72 And that which the rest of the people gave, was twenty thousand drama of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and sixty-seven garments for priests.	72 E ciò che il rimanente del popolo diede, fu ventimila dramme d’oro, e duemila mine d’argento, e sessantasette robe da sacerdoti.
73 And the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singing men, and the rest of the common people, and the Nathinites, and all Israel dwelt in their cities.	73 E i sacerdoti, e i Leviti, e i portinai, e i cantori, e que’ del popolo, e i Netinei, e in somma tutto Israele, abitarono nelle lor città; e il settimo mese essendo giunto, i figliuoli d’Israele erano nelle lor città
