BIBBIA VOLGARE	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 Rispose Baldad Suite, e disse;	1 But Baldad the Suhite responded by saying:
2 Insino a che fine getterai le parole? Intendi prima, e così favelliamo.	2 How long will you throw around words? Understand first, and then let us speak.
3 Perchè siamo noi riputati come bestie, e siamo imbruttati innanzi a te?	3 Why have we been treated like mules, as if we were unworthy before you?
4 Perchè perdi l'anima tua nel tuo furore? Or sarà per te abbandonata la terra, e saranno rapportate le rupi del suo luogo?	4 You, who ruins your own soul in your fury, will the earth be forsaken because of you, and will the cliffs be moved from their place?
5 Or non sarae spenta la luce del malvagio, nè non risplenderà la fiamma del suo fuoco?	5 Will not the light of the impious be put out, and the flame of his fire refuse to shine?
6 La luce diventerae tenebre nel suo tabernacolo, e la lucerna che è sopra lui sarae spenta.	6 Light will become darkness in his tabernacle, and the lamp that is over him will be extinguished.
7 Saranno stretti li andamenti della sua virtude, e straboccherà lui lo suo consiglio.	7 His strong steps will be constrained, and his own counsel will cast him down uncontrollably.
8 Certo elli mise nella rete li suoi piedi, e anda nelle sue macchie.	8 For he has caused his own feet to go into a net, and he has walked into its web.
9 Sarà tenuta la sua pianta collo legame, e arderae contro a lui la sete.	9 His heel will be held in a snare, and thirst will rage against him.
10 Nascoso è nella serra lo suo lacciuolo; gli artificii da ingannare sopra la via.	10 A trap has been hidden for him in the earth, and a decoy, along his path.
11 Da ogni parte spaventeranno lui le paure, e involgeranno li suoi piedi.	11 Horrifying things will terrify him everywhere and will entangle his feet.
12 Sarae assottigliata colla fame (sua) la sua fortezza; e la povertà assalisca le sue coste.	12 Let his strength be diminished by famine, and let starvation invade his ribs.
13 Divori la bellezza della sua cotica, e la primagenita morte consumi le sue braccia.	13 Let it devour the beauty of his skin; let the ancient death consume his arms.
14 Sia tolta fuori la sua speranza del suo tabernacolo; e calchi sopra lui, quasi come re, la morte.	14 Let his confidence be torn away from his tabernacle, and let ruin trample over him like a king.
15 Àbitino nel tabernacolo suo li compagni di colui che non è; e spargasi nell'abitazione sua lo solfore.	15 Let the companions of he who is not, dwell in his tabernacle; let brimstone rain down upon his tabernacle.
16 Di sotto le radici sue si secchino, e sopra sia attrita la sua biada.	16 Let his roots be dried up from beneath him, and his harvest be crushed from above.
17 La memoria sua perisca della terra, e non sia guardato lo nome suo nelle piazze.	17 Let the memory of him perish from the earth, and let not his name be celebrated in the streets.
18 E cacci lui della luce nelle tenebre, e del mondo lo traporti.	18 He will expel him from light into darkness, and he will remove him from the world.
19 Non sarà suo seme nè schiatta nel suo popolo, nè alcuna reliquia nelle sue regioni.	19 Neither his offspring, nor his descendents, will exist among his people, nor will there be any remnants in his country.
20 Nello di suo si maraviglieranno li novissimi, e li primi lo timore (li) assalirae.	20 The last will be astonished at his day, and the first will be overcome with horror.
21 Queste cose sono adunque li tabernacoli dello malvagio; questo è lo luogo di colui che non conosce Iddio.	21 And so, these are the tabernacles of the sinful, and this the place of he who does not know God.
