1 Si presentarono poi i capi famiglia dei leviti al sacerdote Eleazaro, a Giosuè, figlio di Nun e ai capi famiglia delle tribù dei figli d'Israele,	1 Then the princes of the families of Levi came to Eleazar the priest, and to Josue the son of Nun, and to the princes of the kindreds of all the tribes of the children of Israel:
2 e parlarono loro a Silo in terra di Canaan, così: "Il Signore comandò per mezzo di Mosè di darci delle città per abitarvi e i loro dintorni per i nostri greggi".	2 And they spoke to them in Silo in the land of Chanaan, and said: The Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, that cities should be given us to dwell in, and their suburbs to feed our cattle.
3 E i figli d'Israele dettero ai leviti, dalle loro porzioni, secondo le disposizioni del Signore, queste città con i loro dintorni.	3 And the children of Israel gave out of their possessions according to the commandment of the Lord, cities and their suburbs.
4 Uscì la sorte per la famiglia dei Keatiti; fra i leviti, ai figli del sacerdote Aronne toccarono in sorte tredici città nella tribù di Giuda, nella tribù di Simeone e nella tribù di Beniamino;	4 And the lot came out for the family of Caath of the children of Aaron the priest out of the tribes of Juda, and of Simeon, and of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
5 ai restanti figli di Keat, secondo le loro famiglie, furono assegnate per sorteggio dieci città nella tribù di Efraim, nella tribù di Dan e nella mezza tribù di Manasse.	5 And to the rest of the children of Caath, that is, to the Levites, who remained, out of the tribes of Ephraim, and of Dan, and the half tribe of Manasses, ten cities.
6 Per i figli di Gherson, secondo le loro famiglie, furono sorteggiate tredici città nella tribù di Issacar, di Aser, di Neftali e nella mezza di Manasse, nel Basan.	6 And the lot came out to the children of Gerson, that they should take of the tribes of Issachar and of Aser and of Nephtali, and of the half tribe of Manasses in Basan, thirteen cities.
7 Ai figli di Merari, secondo le loro famiglie, furono sorteggiate dodici città nelle tribù di Ruben, di Gad e di Zabulon.	7 And to the sons of Merari by their kindreds, of the tribes of Ruben and or Cad and of Zabulon, twelve cities.
8 Così i figli d'Israele sorteggiarono fra i leviti queste città con i loro pascoli, come aveva disposto il Signore per mezzo di Mosè.	8 And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, giving to every one by lot.
9 Essi dettero dalla tribù dei figli di Giuda e dalla tribù dei figli di Simeone quelle città di cui vengono ricordati i nomi;	9 Of the tribes of the children of Juda and of Simeon Josue gave cities: whose names are these,
10 questa fu la porzione per i figli di Aronne, appartenenti alle famiglie levitiche dei Keatiti, per i quali infatti fu estratto il primo sorteggio.	10 To the sons of Aaron, of the families of Caath of the race of Levi (for the first lot came out for them)

16 Ain e i suoi pascoli, Iutta e i suoi pascoli, Bet-Semes e i suoi pascoli: nove città di quelle due tribù.	16 And Ain, and Jeta, and Bethsames, with their suburbs : nine cities out of the two tribes, as hath been said.
17 Della tribù di Beniamino: Gabaon e i suoi pascoli, Gheba e i suoi pascoli,	17 And out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, Gabaon, and Gabae,
18 Anatot e i suoi pascoli, Almon e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.	18 And Anathoth and Almon, with their suburbs: four cities.
19 In tutto, le città dei sacerdoti figli di Aronne furono tredici, con i loro pascoli.	19 All the cities together of the children of Aaron the priest, were thirteen, with their suburbs.
20 Alle famiglie dei leviti figli di Keat, cioè agli altri figli di Keat, furono assegnate per sorteggio alcune città nella tribù di Efraim;	20 And to the rest of the families of the children of Caath of the race of Levi was given this possession.
21 fu data loro, come città di rifugio per l'omicida, Sichem e i suoi pascoli sui monti di Efraim; poi Ghezer e i suoi pascoli,	21 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Sichem one of the cities of refuge, with the suburbs thereof in mount Ephraim, and Cater,
22 Kibzaim e i suoi pascoli, Bet-Oron e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.	22 And Cibsaim, and Beth-horon, with their suburbs, four cities.
23 Nella tribù di Dan: Elteke e i suoi pascoli; Ghibbeton e i suoi pascoli;	23 And of the tribe of Dan, Eltheco and Gabathon,
24 Aialon e i suoi pascoli, Gat-Rimmon e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.	24 And Aialon and Gethremmon, with their suburbs, four cities.
25 Nella mezza tribù di Manasse: Taanach e i suoi pascoli, Ibleam e i suoi pascoli: due città.	25 And of the half tribe of Manasses, Thanac and Gethremmon, with their suburbs, two cities.
26 In tutto, per le famiglie dei figli di Keat, dieci città con i loro pascoli.	26 All the cities were ten, with their suburbs, which were given to the children of Caath, of the inferior degree.

30 Nella tribù di Aser: Miseal e i suoi pascoli, Abdon e i suoi pascoli,	30 And of the tribe of Aser, Masal and Abdon,
31 Chelkat e i suoi pascoli, Recob e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.	31 ,31And Helcath, and Rohob, with their suburbs, four cities.
32 Nella tribù di Neftali: la città-rifugio per l'omicida, Kades in Galilea e i suoi pascoli, Cammot-Dor e i suoi pascoli, Kartan e i suoi pascoli: tre città.	32 Of the tribe also of Nephtali, Cedes in Galilee, one of the cities of refuge: and Hammoth Dor, and Carthan, with their suburbs, three cities.
33 In tutto, le città date ai Ghersoniti, secondo le loro famiglie, furono tredici, con i loro pascoli.	33 All the cities of the families of Gerson, were thirteen, with their suburbs.
34 Alle famiglie dei figli di Merari, i leviti rimasti, furono date: nella tribù di Zabulon, Iokneam e i suoi pascoli, Karta e i suoi pascoli;	34 And to the children of Merari, Levites of the inferior degree, by their families were given of the tribe of Zabulon, Jecnam and Cartha,
35 Dimna e i suoi pascoli, Naalal e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.	35 And Damna and Naalol, four cities with their suburbs;
36 Nella tribù di Ruben la città-rifugio per l'omicida: Bezer e i suoi pascoli, Iaaz e i suoi pascoli;	36 Of the tribe of Ruben beyond the Jordan over against Jericho, Bosor in the wilderness, one of the cities of refuge, Miser and Jaser and Jethson and Mephaath, four cities with their suburbs.

39 Chesbon e i suoi pascoli, Iazer e i suoi pascoli: in tutto quattro città.	39 So all the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty-eight,
40 In tutto, le città sorteggiate per i figli di Merari, cioè alle restanti famiglie dei leviti, furono dodici.	40 With their suburbs, each distributed by the families.
41 In tutto, le città dei leviti in mezzo alla proprietà dei figli d'Israele furono quarantotto città con i loro pascoli;	41 And the Lord God gave to Israel all the land that he had sworn to give to their fathers: and they possessed it and dwelt in it.
42 ciascuna di queste città comprendeva la città e i pascoli intorno ad essa: così era di tutte quelle città.	42 And he gave them peace from all nations round about: and none of their enemies durst stand against them, but were brought under their dominion.
43 Così il Signore dette a Israele tutta la terra che aveva giurato di dare ai loro padri; essi la conquistarono e vi si stabilirono.	43 Not so much as one word, which he had promised to perform unto them, was made void, but all came to pass.
44 Il Signore dette loro riposo tutt'intorno, secondo quanto aveva giurato ai loro padri; nessuno poté resistere loro fra tutti i loro nemici: il Signore consegnò in loro potere tutti i loro nemici.
45 Non fallì una sola cosa di tutte le buone promesse che il Signore aveva fatto alla casa d'Israele: tutto si compì.
