LA SACRA BIBBIA	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Il Signore si rivolse a Giobbe dicendo:	1 Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
2 "Colui che disputa con l'Onnipotente, si ritira? Colui che critica Dio, voglia rispondere!".	2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 Giobbe rispose al Signore così:	3 Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 "Ecco, sono ben piccino, che cosa posso replicare? Mi porto la mano alla bocca.	4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 Ho parlato una volta, non insisterò; una seconda volta, non aggiungerò nulla".	5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 Il Signore rispose a Giobbe dal turbine e disse:	6 Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 "Cingiti i fianchi come un eroe; ti interrogherò e tu mi istruirai.	7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 Vorresti tu veramente cancellare il mio giudizio, per condannarmi ed avere tu ragione?	8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 Hai tu un braccio come quello di Dio, e puoi tuonare con voce pari alla sua?	9 Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 Ornati dunque di gloria e di maestà, rivestiti di splendore e di fasto!	10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 Riversa i furori della tua collera, e con uno sguardo abbatti tutti i superbi.	11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 Umilia con uno sguardo ogni arrogante, schiaccia i malvagi ovunque si trovino.	12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Nascondili nella polvere tutti insieme, rinchiudi al buio i loro volti.	13 Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
14 Allora anch'io ti renderò omaggio, perché la tua destra ti ha dato vittoria.	14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
15 Ecco il beemot, che io ho creato al pari di te; mangia erba come il bue.	15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Osserva la forza dei suoi fianchi e la potenza del suo ventre muscoloso.	16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 Esso drizza la sua coda come un cedro, i nervi delle sue cosce si intrecciano saldi.	17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 Le sue ossa sono tubi di bronzo, le sue vertebre come spranghe di ferro.	18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 Egli è la prima delle opere di Dio; solo il suo Creatore lo minaccia di spada.	19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 Benché i monti gli offrano i loro prodotti e tutte le bestie domestiche vi si trastullino,	20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 egli si sdraia sotto i loti, nel folto del canneto e della palude.	21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 Gli fanno ombra i loti selvatici, lo circondano i salici del torrente.	22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Se il fiume si gonfia, egli non teme; è sicuro, anche se il Giordano gli salisse fino alla bocca.	23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 Chi mai potrà prenderlo per gli occhi, o con lacci forargli le narici?	24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
25 Puoi tu pescare con l'amo il leviatàn, e con la fune legare la sua lingua?
26 Puoi tu ficcargli un giunco nelle narici e con un uncino forargli la mascella?
27 Ti rivolgerà egli molte suppliche e ti indirizzerà dolci parole?
28 Concluderà egli un patto con te, perché tu lo prenda come servo per sempre?
29 Giocherai tu con lui come con un passerotto e lo legherai per trastullare le tue figlie?
30 Commerceranno con lui i pescatori e lo spartiranno tra i mercanti?
31 Gli puoi tempestare di frecce le squame e colpire la sua testa con la fiocina?
32 Metti su di lui la mano, pensa alla lotta! Non ricomincerai.
