1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree.	1 Danach sah ich vier Engel an den vier Enden der Erde stehen, die hielten die vier Winde der Erde fest, damit kein Wind auf der Erde und auf dem Meer und über irgendeinen Baum wehe.
2 Then I saw another angel ascend from the rising of the sun, with the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea,	2 Weiter sah ich einen anderen Engel vom Sonnenaufgang her emporsteigen, der ein Siegel des lebendigen Gottes hatte; der rief den vier Engeln, denen der Auftrag erteilt war, Unheil auf der Erde und auf dem Meer anzurichten, mit lauter Stimme die Worte zu:
3 saying, "Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God upon their foreheads."	3 »Richtet kein Unheil auf der Erde und auf dem Meere und an den Bäumen an, bis wir die Knechte unsers Gottes mit einem Siegel auf ihrer Stirn bezeichnet haben!«
4 And I heard the number of the sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand sealed, out of every tribe of the sons of Israel,	4 Dann vernahm ich die Zahl der Versiegelten (= mit dem Siegel Bezeichneten), nämlich hundertvierundvierzigtausend Versiegelte aus allen Stämmen der Israeliten:
5 twelve thousand sealed out of the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand of the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand of the tribe of Gad,	5 aus dem Stamm Juda zwölftausend Versiegelte, aus dem Stamm Ruben zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Gad zwölftausend,
6 twelve thousand of the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand of the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand of the tribe of Manasseh,	6 aus dem Stamm Asser zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Naphthali zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Manasse zwölftausend,
7 twelve thousand of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand of the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand of the tribe of Issachar,	7 aus dem Stamm Simeon zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Levi zwölftausend,
8 twelve thousand of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand of the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand sealed out of the tribe of Benjamin.	8 aus dem Stamm Issaschar zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Sebulon zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Joseph zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Benjamin zwölftausend Versiegelte.
9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,	9 Danach hatte ich ein Gesicht: Ich sah eine große Schar, die niemand zählen konnte, aus allen Völkerschaften und Stämmen, Völkern und Sprachen; die standen vor dem Thron und vor dem Lamm, mit weißen Gewändern angetan und mit Palmzweigen in den Händen.
10 and crying out with a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb!"	10 Sie riefen mit lauter Stimme: »Die Rettung steht bei unserm Gott, der auf dem Throne sitzt, und bei dem Lamm!«
11 And all the angels stood round the throne and round the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,	11 Und alle Engel standen rings um den Thron und um die Ältesten und um die vier Lebewesen herum und warfen sich vor dem Thron auf ihr Angesicht nieder, beteten Gott an
12 saying, "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God for ever and ever! Amen."	12 und riefen: »Amen! Lobpreis und Herrlichkeit, Weisheit und Danksagung, Ehre, Macht und Stärke (gebühren) unserm Gott in alle Ewigkeit! Amen.«
13 Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, "Who are these, clothed in white robes, and whence have they come?"	13 Da nahm einer von den Ältesten das Wort und sagte zu mir: »Wer sind wohl diese Weißgekleideten, und woher sind sie gekommen?«
14 I said to him, "Sir, you know." And he said to me, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.	14 Ich erwiderte ihm: »Mein Herr, du weißt es.« Da sagte er zu mir: »Das sind die, welche aus der großen Trübsal kommen und ihre Kleider gewaschen und im Blut des Lammes weiß gemacht haben.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night within his temple; and he who sits upon the throne will shelter them with his presence.	15 Darum sind sie vor dem Throne Gottes und dienen ihm bei Tag und bei Nacht in seinem Tempel, und der auf dem Throne Sitzende wird über ihnen wohnen.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.	16 Sie werden keinen Hunger und keinen Durst mehr haben, und kein Sonnenbrand wird sie jemals treffen noch irgendeine Hitze (Jes 49,10);
17 For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."	17 denn das Lamm dort mitten vor dem Thron wird sie weiden und sie zu Wasserquellen des Lebens führen (Ps 23,2), und Gott wird alle Tränen aus ihren Augen abwischen (Jes 25,8).«
