1 And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems upon its horns and a blasphemous name upon its heads.	1 Ekkor láttam, hogy egy fenevad száll föl a tengerből, melynek hét feje és tíz szarva volt, és szarvain tíz királyi korona, fejein pedig a káromlás nevei.
2 And the beast that I saw was like a leopard, its feet were like a bears, and its mouth was like a lion's mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority.	2 A fenevad, amelyet láttam, hasonló volt a párduchoz, a lábai mint a medve lábai, a szája mint az oroszlán szája , és a sárkány neki adta erejét, trónját és nagy hatalmát.
3 One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth followed the beast with wonder.	3 Láttam, hogy a fejei közül az egyik szinte halálosan megsebesült, de halálos sebe meggyógyult. Az egész föld csodálkozva követte a fenevadat.
4 Men worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?"	4 Imádták a sárkányt, aki hatalmat adott a fenevadnak, és imádták a fenevadat, és így szóltak: »Ki hasonló a fenevadhoz, és ki harcolhatna vele?«
5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months;	5 Nagy dolgokat és káromlást beszélő száj adatott neki , és hatalmat kapott a cselekvésre negyvenkét hónapig.
6 it opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven.	6 káromlásra nyitotta száját Isten ellen, hogy káromolja nevét és hajlékát és az ég lakóit.
7 Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and tongue and nation,	7 Megadatott neki, hogy harcoljon a szentekkel, és legyőzze őket . Hatalmat kapott minden törzs és nép és nyelv és nemzet fölött.

9 If any one has an ear, let him hear:	9 Akinek van füle, hallja meg!

11 Then I saw another beast which rose out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon.	11 Ekkor láttam, hogy egy másik fenevad száll fel a szárazföldből, amelynek két szarva volt, hasonlók a Bárányéhoz, de úgy beszélt, mint a sárkány.
12 It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence, and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed.	12 Ez gyakorolja az első fenevad teljes hatalmát az ő színe előtt, és rábírja a földet és a föld lakóit, hogy imádják az első fenevadat, amelynek a halálos sebe meggyógyult.

14 and by the signs which it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast, it deceives those who dwell on earth, bidding them make an image for the beast which was wounded by the sword and yet lived;	14 Elcsábítja a föld lakóit a jelekkel, amelyekre hatalmat kapott, hogy megtegye a fenevad színe előtt, s azt mondja a föld lakóinak, hogy készítsék el annak a fenevadnak a képmását, amelynek kard által ejtett sebe van, de életben maradt.
15 and it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast should even speak, and to cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.	15 Hatalmat kapott, hogy lelket adjon a fenevad képmásának, és hogy megszólaljon a fenevad képmása, és megölethesse azokat, akik nem imádják a fenevad képmását .
16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead,	16 Megteszi, hogy minden kicsiny és nagy, gazdag és szegény, szabad és szolga bélyeget viseljen a jobb kezén vagy a homlokán;
17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.	17 és senki se vásárolhasson vagy adhasson el, ha nem viseli a vadállat bélyegét: a nevét, vagy a nevének számát.
18 This calls for wisdom: let him who has understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number, its number is six hundred and sixty-six.	18 – Ez a bölcsesség. Akinek van értelme, számítsa ki a vadállat számát; mert ember száma az, és a száma hatszázhatvanhat. –
