1 And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems upon its horns and a blasphemous name upon its heads.	1 E vidi dal mare salire una fiera, che aveva La dieci corna e sette teste, e sulle sue corna dieci diademi, e sulle sue teste nomi blasfemi.
2 And the beast that I saw was like a leopard, its feet were like a bears, and its mouth was like a lion's mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority.	2 E la fiera che vidi era simile a una pantera, e i suoi piedi come quelli d’un orso, e la sua bocca come la bocca d’un leone. E il dragone le diede la sua potenza e il suo trono e un’autorità grande.
3 One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth followed the beast with wonder.	3 E vidi una delle sue teste come uccisa, colpita a morte; ma la sua ferita mortale fu guarita. E l’intera terra fu mossa d’ammirazione dietro la fiera;
4 Men worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?"	4 e adorarono il dragone, perché diede l'autorità alla fiera, e adorarono la fiera dicendo: «Chi è simile alla fiera e chi guerreggiare contro di essa ?!»
5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months;	5 E fu, data alla fiera una bocca capace di proferire magniloquenze e bestemmie, e le fu data l’autorità di operare per quarantadue mesi.
6 it opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven.	6 E aprì la sua bocca in bestemmie lanciate a Dio, bestemmiando ii suo nome e la sua dimora, coloro che dimorano nel cielo.
7 Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and tongue and nation,	7 E le fu dato di fare guerra contro i santi e di vincerli, e le fu data autorità su ogni tribù, popolo, lingua e gente.
8 and all who dwell on earth will worship it, every one whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain.	8 E la adoreranno tutti gli abitanti sulla terra dei quali non è scritto il nome nel libro della vita dell'agnello sgozzato fin dalla fondazione del mondo.
9 If any one has an ear, let him hear:	9 Se qualcuno ha orecchio, ascolti.
10 If any one is to be taken captive, to captivity he goes; if any one slays with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.	10 Se qualcuno è destinato alla prigionia, va alla prigionia; se qualcuno dev’essere ucciso di spada, bisogna ch’egli sia ucciso di spada. Qui è la perseveranza e la fede dei santi.
11 Then I saw another beast which rose out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon.	11 E vidi un’altra fiera che saliva, dalla terra. E aveva due corna simili a quelle di un agnello; e parlava come un dragone.
12 It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence, and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed.	12 E l’autorità della prima fiera, la esercita tutta, davanti ad essa; e fa sì che la terra e gli abitanti in essa adorino la prima fiera, di cui è stata risanata la ferita mortale.
13 It works great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in the sight of men;	13 E fa portenti grandi, al punto che fa anche scendere fuoco dal cielo sulla, terra davanti agli uomini,
14 and by the signs which it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast, it deceives those who dwell on earth, bidding them make an image for the beast which was wounded by the sword and yet lived;	14 e inganna gli abitanti sulla terra mediante i portenti che le fu dato di fare davanti alla fiera, dicendo agli abitanti sulla terra di fare un’immagine alla fiera che ha la ferita della spada e rivisse.
15 and it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast should even speak, and to cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.	15 E le fu dato di dare uno spirito all’immagine della fiera, sicchè l’immagine della fiera perfino parlasse e facesse che quanti non adorassero l’immagine della fiera fossero uccisi.
16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead,	16 E fa sì che tutti, i piccoli ed i grandi, i ricchi ed i poveri, i liberi e gli schiavi, ricevano un marchio sulla loro mano destra o sulla loro fronte,
17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.	17 e che nessuno possa comprare o vendere all’infuori di chi ha il marchio, che è il nome della fiera o il numero del suo nome. 18 Qui è la sapienza. Chi ha intelligenza computi il numero della fiera. È infatti un numero d’uomo; e il suo numero: seicentosessantasei.
18 This calls for wisdom: let him who has understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number, its number is six hundred and sixty-six.
