Hebrews 8

1 Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,	1 Die Hauptsache dessen aber, was wir sagen wollen, ist: Wir haben einen Hohenpriester, der sich zur Rechten des Thrones der Majestät im Himmel gesetzt hat,
2 a minister in the sanctuary and the true tent which is set up not by man but by the Lord.	2 als Diener des Heiligtums und des wahren Zeltes, das der Herr selbst aufgeschlagen hat, nicht etwa ein Mensch.
3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; hence it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer.	3 Denn jeder Hohepriester wird eingesetzt, um Gaben und Opfer darzubringen; deshalb muss auch unser Hoherpriester etwas haben, was er darbringen kann.
4 Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law.	4 Wäre er nun auf Erden, so wäre er nicht einmal Priester, da es hier schon Priester gibt, die nach dem Gesetz die Gaben darbringen.
5 They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly sanctuary; for when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, "See that you make everything according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain."	5 Sie dienen einem Abbild und Schatten der himmlischen Dinge, nach der Anweisung, die Mose erhielt, als er daranging, das Zelt zu errichten: Sieh zu, heißt es, dass du alles nach dem Urbild ausführst, das dir auf dem Berg gezeigt wurde.
6 But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry which is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.	6 Jetzt aber ist ihm ein um so erhabenerer Priesterdienst übertragen worden, weil er auch Mittler eines besseren Bundes ist, der auf bessere Verheißungen gegründet ist.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion for a second.	7 Wäre nämlich jener erste Bund ohne Tadel, so würde man nicht einen zweiten an seine Stelle zu setzen suchen.
8 For he finds fault with them when he says: "The days will come, says the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;	8 Denn er tadelt sie, wenn er sagt: Seht, es werden Tage kommen - spricht der Herr -, in denen ich mit dem Haus Israel und dem Haus Juda einen neuen Bund schließen werde,
9 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they did not continue in my covenant, and so I paid no heed to them, says the Lord.	9 nicht wie der Bund war, den ich mit ihren Vätern geschlossen habe, als ich sie bei der Hand nahm, um sie aus Ägypten herauszuführen. Sie sind nicht bei meinem Bund geblieben und darum habe ich mich auch nicht mehr um sie gekümmert - spricht der Herr.
10 This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.	10 Das wird der Bund sein, den ich nach diesen Tagen mit dem Haus Israel schließe - spricht der Herr: Ich lege meine Gesetze in ihr Inneres hinein und schreibe sie ihnen in ihr Herz. Ich werde ihr Gott sein und sie werden mein Volk sein.
11 And they shall not teach every one his fellow or every one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all shall know me, from the least of them to the greatest.	11 Keiner wird mehr seinen Mitbürger und keiner seinen Bruder belehren und sagen: Erkenne den Herrn! Denn sie alle, Klein und Groß, werden mich erkennen.
12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more."	12 Denn ich verzeihe ihnen ihre Schuld und an ihre Sünden denke ich nicht mehr.
13 In speaking of a new covenant he treats the first as obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.	13 Indem er von einem neuen Bund spricht, hat er den ersten für veraltet erklärt. Was aber veraltet und überlebt ist, das ist dem Untergang nahe.
