1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,	1 - Ma lo Spirito dice espressamente che nei tempi avvenire alcuni apostateranno dalla fede, dando retta a spiriti ingannatori e a dottrine di demoni
2 through the pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared,	2 ipocritamente mentitori, bollati a fuoco nella propria coscienza,
3 who forbid marriage and enjoin abstinence from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.	3 i quali vietano le nozze, e vogliono l'astensione da cibi che Dio ha creati per il godimento, con azioni di grazie, dei fedeli e di quelli che han conosciuto la verità.
4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving;	4 Giacchè ogni cosa creata da Dio è buona, e nessuna è da rigettare, se presa con azioni di grazia;
5 for then it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.	5 essendo santificato per la parola di Dio e per la preghiera.
6 If you put these instructions before the brethren, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the words of the faith and of the good doctrine which you have followed.	6 Queste cose proponendo ai fratelli, sarai un buon diacono di Cristo Gesù, nutrito colle parole della fede e della sana dottrina, che tu hai esattamente seguìto.
7 Have nothing to do with godless and silly myths. Train yourself in godliness;	7 E le favole profane e da vecchierelle, rigettale: esercitati invece nella pietà.
8 for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.	8 Poichè l'esercizio del corpo è utile a poco, ma la pietà è utile a tutto; avendo promessa di vita, sì della vita presente, sì della futura.
9 The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance.	9 Ecco una parola sicura e da accettarsi con piena fiducia:
10 For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.	10 per questo noi ci affatichiamo e lottiamo, perchè abbiamo messo la nostra speranza nel Dio vivente, il quale è il Salvatore di tutti gli uomini, massime dei fedeli.
11 Command and teach these things.	11 Tu annunzia queste cose e insegnale.
12 Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.	12 Nessuno abbia a disprezzare la tua giovinezza, ma sii modello ai fedeli nella parola, nella condotta, nella carità, nella fede, nella purezza.
13 Till I come, attend to the public reading of scripture, to preaching, to teaching.	13 Fin ch'io torni bada alla lettura, all'esortazione, all'insegnamento.
14 Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophetic utterance when the council of elders laid their hands upon you.	14 Non trascurare il carisma che è in te, il quale ti fu dato per ispirazione profetica, con l'imposizione delle mani degli anziani.
15 Practice these duties, devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress.	15 Cura queste cose, vivi in quelle, perchè il tuo progredire sia palese a tutti.
16 Take heed to yourself and to your teaching; hold to that, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.	16 Attendi a te e al compito d'insegnare, e in questo persevera; facendo così, salverai te stesso e i tuoi ascoltatori.
