1 The lot for the tribe of the people of Judah according to their families reached southward to the boundary of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin at the farthest south.	1 An den Stamm der Judäer fiel durch das Los, entsprechend seinen Sippen, der Anteil gegen die Grenze Edoms hin, südwärts der Wüste Zin zu gelegen, die im äußersten Süden ist.
2 And their south boundary ran from the end of the Salt Sea, from the bay that faces southward;	2 Die Südgrenze Judas beginnt am Ende des Salzmeeres, an der (Meeres)zunge, die sich nach Süden erstreckt,
3 it goes out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, passes along to Zin, and goes up south of Kadesh-barnea, along by Hezron, up to Addar, turns about to Karka,	3 verläuft dann südlich zur Skorpionen-Steige, zieht sich hinüber nach Zin, steigt südlich von Kadesch-Barnea hinauf, führt hinüber nach Hezron, steigt hinauf nach Addar und wendet sich nach Karka;
4 passes along to Azmon, goes out by the Brook of Egypt, and comes to its end at the sea. This shall be your south boundary.	4 dann führt sie hinüber nach Azmon, geht hinaus zum Grenzbach Ägyptens und läuft am Meer aus. Das ist die Südgrenze des Stammes Juda.
5 And the east boundary is the Salt Sea, to the mouth of the Jordan. And the boundary on the north side runs from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan;	5 Die Ostgrenze bildet das Salzmeer bis zur Jordanmündung. Für die Nordseite beginnt die Grenze an der Meereszunge bei der Jordanmündung.

7 and the boundary goes up to Debir from the Valley of Achor, and so northward, turning toward Gilgal, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the valley; and the boundary passes along to the waters of En-shemesh, and ends at En-rogel;	7 Vom Achortal steigt sie empor nach Debir und wendet sich nordwärts nach Gelilot gegenüber der Steige von Adummim, die südlich des Bachtals liegt; dann führt sie hinüber zum Wasser von En-Schemesch und läuft hinaus zur Rogel-Quelle.
8 then the boundary goes up by the valley of the son of Hinnom at the southern shoulder of the Jebusite (that is, Jerusalem); and the boundary goes up to the top of the mountain that lies over against the valley of Hinnom, on the west, at the northern end of the valley of Rephaim;	8 Von da an steigt die Grenze hinauf in das Ben-Hinnom-Tal südlich des Bergrückens der Jebusiter - das ist Jerusalem - und weiter empor zum Gipfel des Berges, der westlich des Hinnom-Tals am nördlichen Rand der Rafaïter-Ebene liegt.
9 then the boundary extends from the top of the mountain to the spring of the Waters of Nephtoah, and from there to the cities of Mount Ephron; then the boundary bends round to Baalah (that is, Kiriath-jearim);	9 Vom Gipfel des Berges biegt die Grenze ab zur Neftoach-Quelle und führt hinaus zum Berg Efron. 10 and the boundary circles west of Baalah to Mount Seir, passes along to the northern shoulder of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon), and goes down to Beth-shemesh, and passes along by Timnah;	10 Von Baala wendet sich die Grenze nach Westen zum Berg Seïr, führt dann an der Nordflanke des Berges von Jearim, das ist Kesalon, vorbei, hinab nach Bet-Schemesch und hinüber nach Timna.
11 the boundary goes out to the shoulder of the hill north of Ekron, then the boundary bends round to Shikkeron, and passes along to Mount Baalah, and goes out to Jabneel; then the boundary comes to an end at the sea.	11 Dann verläuft sie hinaus zur Nordflanke von Ekron, biegt ab nach Schikkaron, geht hinüber zum Berg Baala und hinaus nach Jabneel. 12 And the west boundary was the Great Sea with its coast-line. This is the boundary round about the people of Judah according to their families.	12 Das große Meer und das Küstengebiet bilden die Westgrenze. Das ist das Gebiet der Judäer ringsum, entsprechend ihren Sippen.
13 According to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the people of Judah, Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron (Arba was the father of Anak).	13 Kaleb aber, dem Sohn Jefunnes, gab Josua einen Anteil mitten unter den Judäern, nach der Anweisung des Herrn an Josua (und zwar) Kirjat-Arba - Arba war der Vater Anaks -, das heißt Hebron.
14 And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of Anak, Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai, the descendants of Anak.	14 Kaleb vertrieb von dort die drei Anakiter Scheschai, Ahiman und Talmai, die Söhne Anaks.
15 And he went up from there against the inhabitants of Debir; now the name of Debir formerly was Kiriath-sepher.	15 Von dort zog er hinauf zu den Einwohnern von Debir. Debir hieß früher Kirjat-Sefer.
16 And Caleb said, "Whoever smites Kiriath-sepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter as wife."	16 Und Kaleb sagte: Wer Kirjat- Sefer besiegt und einnimmt, dem gebe ich meine Tochter Achsa zur Frau.
17 And Othni-el the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.	17 Otniël, der Sohn des Kenas, eines Bruders Kalebs, nahm die Stadt ein und Kaleb gab ihm seine Tochter Achsa zur Frau.
18 When she came to him, she urged him to ask her father for a field; and she alighted from her ass, and Caleb said to her, "What do you wish?"	18 Als sie bei Otniël ankam, drängte er sie, von ihrem Vater ein Stück Land zu verlangen. Da ließ sie sich vom Esel herabgleiten und Kaleb fragte sie: Was hast du?
19 She said to him, "Give me a present; since you have set me in the land of the Negeb, give me also springs of water." And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.	19 Sie antwortete: Gib mir ein Geschenk als Zeichen des Segens! Wenn du mich schon ins Trockenland schickst, dann gib mir auch Wasserstellen! Da gab er ihr die obere und die untere Wasserquelle.

63 But the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the people of Judah could not drive out; so the Jebusites dwell with the people of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.	63 Nur die Jebusiter, die in Jerusalem wohnten, konnten die Judäer nicht vertreiben und so wohnen die Jebusiter bis zum heutigen Tag mit den Judäern zusammen in Jerusalem.
