1 Now Joshua was old and advanced in years; and the LORD said to him, "You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to be possessed.	1 Josué étant vieux et fort avancé en âge, le Seigneur lui dit: Vous êtes devenu vieux et vous êtes avancé en âge, et il reste une région considérable qui n'a point encore été divisée par le sort:
2 This is the land that yet remains: all the regions of the Philistines, and all those of the Geshurites	2 savoir, toute la Galilée des Philistins, et toute la terre de Gessuri,
3 (from the Shihor, which is east of Egypt, northward to the boundary of Ekron, it is reckoned as Canaanite; there are five rulers of the Philistines, those of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron), and those of the Avvim,	3 depuis le fleuve aux eaux troubles qui arrose l'Egypte, jusqu'aux confins d'Accaron vers le nord; la terre de Chanaan, qui est partagée entre les cinq princes des Philistins, savoir: celui de Gaza, celui d'Azot, celui d'Ascalon, celui de Geth, et celui d'Accaron.
4 in the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah which belongs to the Sidonians, to Aphek, to the boundary of the Amorites,	4 Au midi sont les Hévéens, toute la terre de Chanaan, Maara des Sidoniens, jusqu'à Aphec et jusqu'aux frontières des Amorrhéens,
5 and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to the entrance of Hamath,	5 jusqu'aux terres qui les avoisinent; le pays du Liban vers l'orient, depuis Baalgad au pied du mont Hermon, jusqu'à l'entrée d'Emath;
6 all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, even all the Sidonians. I will myself drive them out from before the people of Israel; only allot the land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.	6 tous ceux qui habitent sur la montagne, depuis le Liban jusqu'aux eaux de Maséréphoth, et tous les Sidoniens. C'est Moi qui les exterminerai devant la face des enfants d'Israël. Que ces pays tombent donc dans la portion de l'héritage d'Israël, comme Je vous l'ai ordonné.
7 Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and half the tribe of Manasseh."	7 Et maintenant partagez la terre que les neuf tribus et la moitié de la tribu de Manassé doivent posséder;
8 With the other half of the tribe of Manasseh the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them:	8 l'autre moitié de cette tribu étant déjà en possession, avec les tribus de Ruben et de Gad, de la terre que Moïse, serviteur du Seigneur, leur a donnée au delà du Jourdain du côté de l'orient,
9 from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the tableland of Medeba as far as Dibon;	9 depuis Aroër, qui est sur le bord du torrent de l'Arnon, et au milieu de la vallée, et toute la campagne de Médaba, jusqu'à Dibon;
10 and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the boundary of the Ammonites;	10 et toutes les villes de Séhon, roi des Amorrhéens, qui régnait depuis Hésébon jusqu'aux frontières des enfants d'Ammon;
11 and Gilead, and the region of the Geshurites and Ma-acathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah;	11 Galaad, les confins de Gessuri et de Machati, tout le mont Hermon et tout Basan jusqu'à Salécha;
12 all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edre-i (he alone was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); these Moses had defeated and driven out.	12 tout le royaume d'Og au pays de Basan, qui régnait à Astaroth et à Edraï, et qui était des restes des Géants. Moïse défit ces peuples et les détruisit.
13 Yet the people of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites or the Ma-acathites; but Geshur and Maacath dwell in the midst of Israel to this day.	13 Et les enfants d'Israël ne voulurent point exterminer ceux de Gessuri et de Machati; et ils sont demeurés au milieu d'Israël jusqu'à ce jour.
14 To the tribe of Levi alone Moses gave no inheritance; the offerings by fire to the LORD God of Israel are their inheritance, as he said to him.	14 Mais Moïse ne donna point de terre en partage à la tribu de Lévi, parce que les sacrifices et les victimes du Seigneur Dieu d'Israël sont son héritage, comme le Seigneur le lui a dit.
15 And Moses gave an inheritance to the tribe of the Reubenites according to their families.	15 Moïse donna donc la contrée en possession à la tribu des enfants de Ruben, selon ses familles;
16 So their territory was from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the tableland by Medeba;	16 et leur territoire fut depuis Aroër, qui est sur le bord du torrent de l'Arnon, et au milieu de la vallée où est ce même torrent, toute la plaine qui conduit à Médaba,
17 with Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the tableland; Dibon, and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon,	17 Hésébon avec tous ses villages qui sont dans la plaine, Dibon, Bamothbaal, la ville de Baalmaon,
18 and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,	18 Jassa, Cédimoth, Méphaath,
19 and Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the hill of the valley,	19 Cariathaïm, Sabama, et Sarathasar dans la montagne de la vallée,
20 and Beth-peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth,	20 Bethphogor, Asédoth, Phasga, Bethjésimoth,
21 that is, all the cities of the tableland, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses defeated with the leaders of Midian, Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who dwelt in the land.	21 toutes les villes de la plaine, tous les royaumes de Séhon, roi des Amorrhéens, qui régna à Hésébon; Moïse le défit avec les princes de Madian, Evi, Récem, Sur, Hur, Rébé, qui étaient les chefs de Séhon et qui habitaient dans le pays.
22 Balaam also, the son of Beor, the soothsayer, the people of Israel killed with the sword among the rest of their slain.	22 Les enfants d'Israël firent aussi mourir par l'épée le devin Balaam, fils de Béor, avec les autres qui furent tués.
23 And the border of the people of Reuben was the Jordan as a boundary. This was the inheritance of the Reubenites, according to their families with their cities and villages.	23 Et le pays des enfants de Ruben se termina au fleuve du Jourdain. C'est là la terre, les villes et les villages que posséda la tribu de Ruben, selon ses familles.
24 And Moses gave an inheritance also to the tribe of the Gadites, according to their families.	24 Moïse donna aussi à la tribu de Gad et à ses enfants la terre qu'elle devait posséder selon ses familles; en voici la division.
25 Their territory was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites, to Aroer, which is east of Rabbah,	25 Elle possédait Jazer, toutes les villes de Galaad, la moitié de la terre des enfants d'Ammon jusqu'à Aroër, qui est vers Rabba;
26 and from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir,	26 depuis Hésébon jusqu'à Ramoth, Masphé et Béthonim, et depuis Manaïm jusqu'aux confins de Dabir.
27 and in the valley Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, having the Jordan as a boundary, to the lower end of the Sea of Chinnereth, eastward beyond the Jordan.	27 Elle possédait aussi dans la vallée Bétharan, Bethnemra, Socoth et Saphon, et le reste du royaume de Séhon, roi d'Hésébon; son pays se terminait aussi au Jourdain jusqu'à l'extrémité de la mer de Cénéreth au delà du Jourdain vers l'orient.
28 This is the inheritance of the Gadites according to their families, with their cities and villages.	28 C'est là la terre, les villes et les villages que possèdent les enfants de Gad selon leurs familles.
29 And Moses gave an inheritance to the half-tribe of Manasseh; it was allotted to the half-tribe of the Manassites according to their families.	29 Moïse donna aussi à la moitié de la tribu de Manassé et à ses enfants la terre qu'elle devait posséder selon ses familles.
30 Their region extended from Mahanaim, through all Bashan, the whole kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities,	30 Elle comprenait depuis Manaïm tout Basan, tous les royaumes d'Og, roi de Basan, tous les bourgs de Jaïr qui sont en Basan, au nombre de soixante villes;
31 and half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edre-i, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan; these were allotted to the people of Machir the son of Manasseh for the half of the Machirites according to their families.	31 la moitié de Galaad, Astaroth et Edraï, ville du royaume d'Og en Basan; tout cela fut donné aux enfants de Machir, fils de Manassé, c'est-à-dire à la moitié des enfants de Machir, selon leurs familles.
32 These are the inheritances which Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan east of Jericho.	32 Moïse fit ce partage dans la plaine de Moab au delà du Jourdain, vis-à-vis de Jéricho vers l'orient.
33 But to the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance; the LORD God of Israel is their inheritance, as he said to them.	33 Mais il ne donna point de terre en partage à la tribu de Lévi, parce que le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël est son partage, selon qu'Il le lui a dit.
