Deuteronomy 34

1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And the LORD showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan,	1 Moïse monta donc de la plaine de Moab sur la montagne de Nébo, au sommet du Phasga, vis-à-vis de Jéricho ; et le Seigneur lui fit voir de là tout le pays de Galaad jusqu'à Dan,
2 all Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Western Sea,	2 tout Nephtali, toute la terre d'Ephraïm et de Manassé, et tout le pays de Juda jusqu'à la (dernière) mer occidentale,
3 the Negeb, and the Plain, that is, the valley of Jericho the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.	3 (et) tout le côté du midi, toute l'étendue de la campagne de Jéricho, qui est la ville des palmes, jusqu'à Ségor.
4 And the LORD said to him, "This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there."	4 Et le Seigneur lui dit : Voilà le pays pour lequel j'ai fait serment à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob, en leur disant : Je donnerai ce pays à ta postérité. Tu l'as vu de tes yeux, et tu n'y passeras point.
5 So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD,	5 (Et) Moïse, serviteur du Seigneur, mourut donc en ce lieu, dans le pays de Moab, par l'ordre du Seigneur,
6 and he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth-peor; but no man knows the place of his burial to this day.	6 qui l'ensevelit dans la vallée du pays de Moab, en face de Phogor ; et personne jusqu'à ce jour n'a connu (le lieu de) sa sépulture.
7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died; his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.	7 Moïse avait cent vingt ans lorsqu'il mourut ; sa vue n'avait pas baissé, et ses dents ne s'étaient pas ébranlées.
8 And the people of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.	8 Les enfants d'Israël le pleurèrent dans la plaine de Moab pendant trente jours, et alors le deuil de ceux qui le pleuraient fut achevé.
9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him; so the people of Israel obeyed him, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses.	9 Quant à Josué fils de Nun, il fut rempli de l'Esprit de sagesse, parce que Moïse lui avait imposé les mains ; et les enfants d'Israël lui obéirent en faisant ce que le Seigneur avait commandé à Moïse.
10 And there has not arisen a prophet since in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,	10 Il ne s'éleva plus dans Israël de prophète semblable à Moïse, à qui le Seigneur parlât comme à lui face à face ;
11 none like him for all the signs and the wonders which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land,	11 ni qui ait fait des miracles et des prodiges comme ceux que le Seigneur a opérés par Moïse dans l'Egypte, aux yeux du (de) Pharaon, de ses serviteurs, et de tout son royaume ;
12 and for all the mighty power and all the great and terrible deeds which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel.	12 ni qui ait agi avec un bras si puissant, et qui ait exécuté des œuvres aussi grandes et aussi merveilleuses que celles que Moïse a faites devant tout Israël.
