Deuteronomy 26

1 "When you come into the land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance, and have taken possession of it, and live in it,	1 »Wenn du nun in das Land gekommen bist, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir zu eigen geben wird, und du es in Besitz genommen hast und in ihm wohnst,
2 you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you harvest from your land that the LORD your God gives you, and you shall put it in a basket, and you shall go to the place which the LORD your God will choose, to make his name to dwell there.	2 so sollst du einen Teil von den Erstlingen aller Feldfrüchte, die du von deinem Lande, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir geben wird, geerntet hast, nehmen und sie in einen Korb legen und dich damit an die Stätte begeben, die der HERR, dein Gott, erwählen wird, um seinen Namen daselbst wohnen zu lassen.
3 And you shall go to the priest who is in office at that time, and say to him, 'I declare this day to the LORD your God that I have come into the land which the LORD swore to our fathers to give us.'	3 Dort sollst du dann zu dem Priester treten, der zu jener Zeit im Amt sein wird, und zu ihm sagen: ›Ich bezeuge heute dem HERRN, deinem Gott, daß ich wirklich in das Land gekommen bin, dessen Verleihung an uns der HERR unsern Vätern zugeschworen hat.‹
4 Then the priest shall take the basket from your hand, and set it down before the altar of the LORD your God.	4 Hierauf soll der Priester den Korb aus deiner Hand nehmen und ihn vor den Altar des HERRN, deines Gottes, hinstellen.
5 "And you shall make response before the LORD your God, 'A wandering Aramean was my father; and he went down into Egypt and sojourned there, few in number; and there he became a nation, great, mighty, and populous.	5 Du aber sollst dann vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott, folgende Worte aussprechen: ›Ein umherirrender Aramäer war mein Stammvater; mit einer Mannschaft von wenigen Leuten zog er nach Ägypten hinab und lebte dort als Fremdling, wuchs dort aber zu einem großen, starken und zahlreichen Volk heran.
6 And the Egyptians treated us harshly, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage.	6 Weil aber die Ägypter uns mißhandelten und bedrückten und uns harte Zwangsarbeit auferlegten,
7 Then we cried to the LORD the God of our fathers, and the LORD heard our voice, and saw our affliction, our toil, and our oppression;	7 schrien wir zum HERRN, dem Gott unserer Väter, um Hilfe, und der HERR erhörte unser Flehen und sah unser Elend, unsere Mühsal und Bedrängnis;
8 and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror, with signs and wonders;	8 und der HERR führte uns mit starker Hand und hocherhobenem Arm, mit schreckenerregender Macht und unter Zeichen und Wundern aus Ägypten hinaus;
9 and he brought us into this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.	9 er brachte uns an diesen Ort und gab uns dieses Land, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig überfließt.
10 And behold, now I bring the first of the fruit of the ground, which thou, O LORD, hast given me.' And you shall set it down before the LORD your God, and worship before the LORD your God;	10 Und nun bringe ich hier die Erstlinge von den Früchten des Feldes, das du, HERR, mir gegeben hast.‹ Dann stelle sie vor den HERRN, deinen Gott, hin, wirf dich vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott, anbetend nieder
11 and you shall rejoice in all the good which the LORD your God has given to you and to your house, you, and the Levite, and the sojourner who is among you.	11 und erfreue dich mit den Leviten und den Fremdlingen, die in deiner Mitte wohnen, an all dem Guten, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir und deinem Hause gegeben hat.«
12 "When you have finished paying all the tithe of your produce in the third year, which is the year of tithing, giving it to the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within your towns and be filled,	12 »Wenn du im dritten Jahre, dem Zehntjahr (vgl. 14,28-29), den gesamten Zehnten von deinem Ernteertrag vollständig entrichtet und ihn den Leviten, den Fremdlingen, den Waisen und Witwen übergeben hast, damit sie ihn in deinen Ortschaften verzehren und sich satt essen,
13 then you shall say before the LORD your God, 'I have removed the sacred portion out of my house, and moreover I have given it to the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all thy commandment which thou hast commanded me; I have not transgressed any of thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them;	13 so sollst du vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott, so sprechen: ›Ich habe die heilige Abgabe aus meinem Hause hinausgeschafft und sie den Leviten und Fremdlingen, den Waisen und Witwen genau so übergeben, wie du mir geboten hast: ich habe keines von deinen Geboten übertreten noch vergessen.
14 I have not eaten of the tithe while I was mourning, or removed any of it while I was unclean, or offered any of it to the dead; I have obeyed the voice of the LORD my God, I have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.	14 Ich habe nichts davon gegessen in meiner Trauer und nichts davon weggeschafft, während ich unrein war, und habe nichts davon für eine Totenspeisung verwandt, nein, ich bin den Weisungen des HERRN, meines Gottes, nachgekommen und habe mich genau an seine Gebote gehalten.
15 Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel and the ground which thou hast given us, as thou didst swear to our fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.'	15 Blicke von deiner heiligen Wohnung, vom Himmel, herab und segne dein Volk Israel und das Land, das du uns gegeben hast, wie du unsern Vätern zugeschworen hast, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig überfließt!‹«
16 "This day the LORD your God commands you to do these statutes and ordinances; you shall therefore be careful to do them with all your heart and with all your soul.	16 »Am heutigen Tage gebietet dir der HERR, dein Gott, diese Satzungen (oder: Grundgesetze) und Verordnungen zu befolgen: so beobachte und befolge sie denn von ganzem Herzen und mit ganzer Seele!
17 You have declared this day concerning the LORD that he is your God, and that you will walk in his ways, and keep his statutes and his commandments and his ordinances, and will obey his voice;	17 Du hast dir heute vom HERRN verkünden lassen, daß er dein Gott sein wolle und daß es dir zukomme, auf seinen Wegen zu wandeln, seine Satzungen, Vorschriften und Verordnungen zu beobachten und seinen Weisungen zu gehorchen.
18 and the LORD has declared this day concerning you that you are a people for his own possession, as he has promised you, and that you are to keep all his commandments,	18 Der HERR aber hat dich heute die Erklärung aussprechen lassen, daß du sein Eigentumsvolk sein wollest, wie er dir geboten hat, und daß es dir zukomme, alle seine Gebote zu beobachten,
19 that he will set you high above all nations that he has made, in praise and in fame and in honor, and that you shall be a people holy to the LORD your God, as he has spoken."	19 und daß er dich über alle Völker, die er geschaffen hat, zu Ruhm und Ehre und Ansehen erhöhen wolle und daß du ein dem HERRN, deinem Gott, geheiligtes Volk sein wollest (oder: sollest), wie er dir geboten (oder: zugesagt) hat.«
