Luke 10

1 After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to come.	1 Di poi, il Signore elesse altri sottantadue e li mandò a due a due innanzi a sé in ogni città e luogo dove egli era per andare.
2 And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.	2 E diceva loro: La messe è molta, ma gli operai sono pochi. Pregate dunque il padrone della messe che mandi operai per la sua mietitura.
3 Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.	3 Andate: ecco io vi mando come agnelli in mezzo ai lupi.
4 Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and salute no one on the road.	4 Non portate nò borsa, nè sacca, nè calzari; e per la strada non salutate nessuno.
5 Whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace be to this house!'	5 In qualunque casa entrerete, dite prima di tutto: Pace a questa casa.
6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace shall rest upon him; but if not, it shall return to you.	6 E se ci sarà un figlio di pace, riposerà su di lui la pace vostra, altrimenti ritornerà a voi.
7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages; do not go from house to house.	7 E nella stessa, casa restate, mangiando e bevendo di quel che vi danno; perchè 1'operaio è degno della sua mercede. Non girate di casa in casa.
8 Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you;	8 E in qualunque città entrerete, se vi accolgono, mangiate di quel che vi sarà messo davanti
9 heal the sick in it and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'	9 e guarite gli infermi che ci sono, e dite loro: Vi s'avvicina il regno di Dio.
10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go into its streets and say,	10 Ma in qualunque città entriate, se non vi accolgono, uscite sulle piazze e dite:
11 'Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off against you; nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near.'	11 Della vostra città, anche la polvere che ci si è attaccata, abbiamo scosso contro di voi: sappiate nondimeno che il regno di Dio s'avvicina.
12 I tell you, it shall be more tolerable on that day for Sodom than for that town.	12 Vi assicuro che nel gran giorno, Sodoma sarà trattata, meno rigorosamente di quella città.
13 "Woe to you, Chorazin! woe to you, Beth-saida! for if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.	13 Guai a te, Corazain, guai a te, Betsaida, perchè se in Tiro e Sidone fossero stati operati i prodigi fatti in mezzo a voi, già da gran tempo in cilicio, sedute sulla cenere, farebbero penitenza.
14 But it shall be more tolerable in the judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you.	14 Nel giudizio quindi Tiro e Sidone saran trattate meno rigorosamente di voi.
15 And you, Caperna-um, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades.	15 E tu, Cafarnao, già esaltata fino al cielo,
16 "He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me."	16 sarai sprofondata fino all'inferno. Chi ascolta voi, ascolta me; chi disprezza voi, disprezza me. E chi disprezza me, disprezza Colui che mi ha mandato.
17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!"	17 E i sottantadue ritornarono lieti, dicendo: Signore, anche i demoni ci stan soggetti in tuo nome.
18 And he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.	18 E rispose loro: Vedevo Satana cadere dal cielo come folgore.
19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you.	19 Ecco, v'ho dato il potere di calcare e serpenti e scorpioni e tutta la potenza del nemico, e niente vi farà male.
20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."	20 Pure, non vi rallegrate perchè vi stan soggetti gli spiriti, ma rallegratevi perchè i vostri nomi sono scritti nei cieli.
21 In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will.	21 In quel medesimo punto, esultando di Spirito Santo, disse: Ti rendo lode, o Padre, Signore del cielo e della terra, perchè hai nascoste queste cose ai sapienti e agli intelligenti, e le hai rivelate ai piccoli. Così, o Padre, perchè sì ti è piaciuto.
22 All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."	22 Tutto è stato affidato a me, dal Padre mio. E nessuno conosce chi sia il Figlio, tranne il Padre; nè chi sia il Pade, eccetto il Figlio, e colui al quale il Figlio avrà voluto rivelarlo.
23 Then turning to the disciples he said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see what you see!	23 Poi rivolto ai suoi discepoli disse: Beati gli occhi che vedono quanto vedete voi;
24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it."	24 perchè vi assicuro che molti profeti e re bramarono vedere quello che vedete voi e non lo videro; ed ascoltarono quello che voi udite e non lo poterono ascoltare.
25 And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"	25 Allora, alzatosi un certo dottore in legge, gli disse per tentarlo: Maestro, che debbo fare per ottener la vita eterna?
26 He said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read?"	26 E Gesù a lui: Nella legge che c'è scritto? Come leggi?
27 And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."	27 L'altro rispose: Amerai il Signore Dio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta l'anima tua e con tutte le tue forze e con tutta la tua intelligenza ed il prossimo tuo come te stesso.
28 And he said to him, "You have answered right; do this, and you will live."	28 È Gesù gli disse: Hai risposto bene; fa' questo e vivrai.
29 But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"	29 Ma quello, volendo giustificarsi, disse: E chi è il mio prossimo?
30 Jesus replied, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.	30 E Gesù prese a dire: Un uomo, scendendo da Gerusalemme a Gerico, incappò noi ladroni, che, spogliatolo, lo caricarono di ferite, e se ne andarono, lasciandolo mezzo morto.
31 Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him he passed by on the other side.	31 Or per caso scendeva per la medesima strada un sacerdote, il quale, guardatolo, passò oltre.
32 So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.	32 Così pure un levita, arrivato lì vicino, guardò e tirò di lunghe
33 But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was; and when he saw him, he had compassion,	33 Ma un Samaritano che era in viaggio e passò di li, e vedutolo, n'ebbe pietà;
34 and went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; then he set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.	34 e accostatosi, gli fasciò le ferite, versandovi su dell'olio e del vino, e, adagiandolo sul giumento, lo condusse all'albergo e ne ebbe cura.
35 And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.'	35 Ed il giorno dopo, tratti fuori due danari, li diede all'oste, dicendogli: Abbine cura, e quanto spenderai di più te lo renderò al mio ritorno.
36 Which of these three, do you think, proved neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?"	36 Or quale di questi tre sembra che sia stato il prossimo per colui che incappò nei ladroni?
37 He said, "The one who showed mercy on him." And Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."	37 E quello rispose: Chi gli uso misericordia. Va e fa anche tu lo stesso.
38 Now as they went on their way, he entered a village; and a woman named Martha received him into her house.	38 Or avvenne che seguitando la strada, entrò in un villaggio, dove una donna chiamata Marta lo ricevette in casa sua.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching.	39 E questa aveva una sorella chiamata Maria, la quale, postasi a sedere ai piedi dei Signore, ne ascoltava la parola.
40 But Martha was distracted with much serving; and she went to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me."	40 Marta intanto s'affannava tra le molte faccende, e si presentò a dire: Signore, non t'importa che la mia sorella mi lasci sola a servire? Dille dunque di aiutarmi.
41 But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things;	41 Ma il Signore le rispose: Marta, Marta, t'affanni e t'inquieti di molte cose,
42 one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good portion, which shall not be taken away from her."	42 eppure una sola è necessaria. Maria s'è scelta la parte migliore, che non le sarà tolta.
