1 Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there who had a withered hand.	1 - Entrò di nuovo nella sinagoga, dov'era un uomo che aveva una mano secca.
2 And they watched him, to see whether he would heal him on the sabbath, so that they might accuse him.	2 E l'osservavano per vedere se egli lo avrebbe guarito in giorno di sabato, per poterlo accusare.
3 And he said to the man who had the withered hand, "Come here."	3 Gesù disse all'uomo che aveva la mano secca: «Vieni qua nel mezzo».
4 And he said to them, "Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?" But they were silent.	4 Poi disse loro: «In giorno di sabato è lecito far del bene o far del male? Salvare una persona o ucciderla?». Ma quelli tacevano.
5 And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.	5 Allora guardandoli con indignazione e contristato per l'accecamento del loro cuore, disse a quell'uomo: «Stendi la tua mano!». Egli la tese e la sua mano tornò sana.
6 The Pharisees went out, and immediately held counsel with the Herodi-ans against him, how to destroy him.	6 I Farisei, usciti, si concertavano con gli Erodiani contro di lui, per vedere di perderlo.
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed; also from Judea	7 Gesù si ritirò verso il mare coi suoi discepoli e una folla numerosa lo seguì dalla Galilea e dalla Giudea.
8 and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from about Tyre and Sidon a great multitude, hearing all that he did, came to him.	8 Da Gerusalemme, dalla Idumea, dalla Transgiordania, e dai dintorni di Tiro e Sidone, essendosi udite le cose che faceva, vennero a lui in gran numero.
9 And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they should crush him;	9 Egli perciò disse a' suoi discepoli che gli tenessero pronta una barca, affinchè non fosse schiacciato dalla folla.
10 for he had healed many, so that all who had diseases pressed upon him to touch him.	10 Perchè, siccome ne aveva guariti molti, tutti quelli che avevano qualche male gli si pigiavan d'attorno per toccarlo.
11 And whenever the unclean spirits beheld him, they fell down before him and cried out, "You are the Son of God."	11 Gli spiriti immondi, quando lo vedevano si prostravano davanti a lui e gridavano:
12 And he strictly ordered them not to make him known.	12 «Tu sei il Figlio di Dio!». Ma egli proibiva energicamente di manifestare chi egli era.
13 And he went up on the mountain, and called to him those whom he desired; and they came to him.	13 Salito sopra il monte, chiamò a sè quelli ch'egli stesso volle ed essi andarono a lui.
14 And he appointed twelve, to be with him, and to be sent out to preach	14 E stabilì che i Dodici stessero con lui e li potesse mandare a predicare
15 and have authority to cast out demons:	15 col potere di guarire le malattie e scacciare i demoni. Ecco i dodici trascelti:
16 Simon whom he surnamed Peter;	16 Simone, a cui mise nome Pietro,
17 James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, whom he surnamed Bo-anerges, that is, sons of thunder;	17 poi Giacomo, figlio di Zebedeo, e Giovanni fratello di Giacomo, ai quali pose nome Boanergès il che vuol dire: «Figli del tuono»,
18 Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean,	18 Andrea, Filippo, Bartolomeo, Matteo, Tommaso, Giacomo d'Alfeo, Taddeo, Simone il Cananeo,
19 and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. Then he went home;	19 e Giuda Iscariote che poi lo tradì.
20 and the crowd came together again, so that they could not even eat.	20 Tornati poi in casa la folla si radunò di nuovo tanto che non si lasciava loro neppure il tempo di mangiare.
21 And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for people were saying, "He is beside himself."	21 I suoi parenti, udite tali cose, vennero per prenderlo, perchè dicevano: «È fuor di sè».
22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Be-elzebul, and by the prince of demons he casts out the demons."	22 E gli Scribi venuti da Gerusalemme, dicevano: Egli è posseduto da Beelzebub e scaccia i demoni con l'aiuto del principe dei demoni».
23 And he called them to him, and said to them in parables, "How can Satan cast out Satan?	23 Ma egli, chiamatili a sè, diceva loro in parabole: «Come può Satana scacciar Satana?
24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.	24 Se un regno è diviso in se stesso, il regno non può durare.
25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.	25 E se una casa è divisa in se stessa, la casa non può star in piedi.
26 And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end.	26 Se quindi Satana insorge contro se stesso ed è diviso, non può reggere, ma deve finire.
27 But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man; then indeed he may plunder his house.	27 Nessuno può entrare nella casa del forte e portargli via le masserizie, se prima non abbia legato l'uomo forte; allora soltanto potrà spogliare la casa.
28 "Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter;	28 In verità vi dico che tutti i peccati saran perdonati ai figli degli uomini, anche le bestemmie che avran proferito;
29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin"--	29 ma chiunque avrà bestemmiato contro lo Spirito Santo, non ne otterrà perdono in eterno; è reo di un peccato eterno».
30 for they had said, "He has an unclean spirit."	30 Essi infatti dicevano: «Egli è posseduto da uno spirito immondo».
31 And his mother and his brethren came; and standing outside they sent to him and called him.	31 Sua madre e i suoi fratelli, essendo giunti, si fermaron di fuori e lo mandarono a chiamare.
32 And a crowd was sitting about him; and they said to him, "Your mother and your brethren are outside, asking for you."	32 Ora una folla gli stava seduta intorno, e gli dissero: «Ecco, tua madre e i tuoi fratelli son lì fuori che ti cercano».
33 And he replied, "Who are my mother and my brethren?"	33 Egli rispose: «Chi è mia madre? E chi sono i miei fratelli?».
34 And looking around on those who sat about him, he said, "Here are my mother and my brethren!	34 Poi dando un'occhiata a quei ch'eran seduti attorno a lui, disse: «Ecco mia madre e i miei fratelli!
35 Whoever does the will of God is my brother, and sister, and mother."	35 Chiunque avrà fatto la volontà di Dio, questi mi sarà fratello, sorella e madre».
