Zechariah 9

1 An Oracle The word of the LORD is against the land of Hadrach and will rest upon Damascus. For to the LORD belong the cities of Aram, even as all the tribes of Israel;	1 Parola del Signore a carico della terra d'Adrac e di Damasco suo riposo, — che il Signore ha gli occhi sugli uomini e su tutte le tribù d'Israele. —
2 Hamath also, which borders thereon, Tyre and Sidon, though they are very wise.	2 Ed anche contro Eniat, sui suoi confini, e contro Tiro, e contro Sidone, perchè si sono arrogate una gran sapienza.
3 Tyre has built herself a rampart, and heaped up silver like dust, and gold like the dirt of the streets.	3 Tiro s'è costruita una fortezza, ha ammassato l'argento come la polvere e l'oro come il fango delle piazze.
4 But lo, the Lord will strip her of her possessions and hurl her wealth into the sea, and she shall be devoured by fire.	4 Ecco che il Signore se ne impadronirà, sommergerà nel mare la sua potenza, ed essa sarà divorata dal fuoco.
5 Ashkelon shall see it, and be afraid; Gaza too, and shall writhe in anguish; Ekron also, because its hopes are confounded. The king shall perish from Gaza; Ashkelon shall be uninhabited;	5 A tal vista Ascalona sarà presa dallo spavento, ed anche Gaza sarà in gran duolo, ed anche Accaron, perchè è svanita la sua speranza. Gaza, non avrà più re, e Ascalona non sarà più abitata.
6 a mongrel people shall dwell in Ashdod; and I will make an end of the pride of Philistia.	6 E vile straniero metterà la sua sede in Azoto, ed io abbatterò la superbia dei Filistei.
7 I will take away its blood from its mouth, and its abominations from between its teeth; it too shall be a remnant for our God; it shall be like a clan in Judah, and Ekron shall be like the Jebusites.	7 E torrò il suo sangue dalla sua bocca, e di dentro ai suoi denti le sue abominazioni, e sarà lasciato anche lui pel nostro Dio, e sarà come un capo in Giuda, e Accaron sarà come il Gebuseo.
8 Then I will encamp at my house as a guard, so that none shall march to and fro; no oppressor shall again overrun them, for now I see with my own eyes.	8 Ed io metterò intorno alla mia casa quelli che militano a mio servizio, andranno e verranno, e non passerà più sopra di loro l'esattore, perchè ora ho veduto coi miei occhi.
9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Lo, your king comes to you; triumphant and victorious is he, humble and riding on an ass, on a colt the foal of an ass.	9 Esulta grandemente, o figlia di Sion, giubila, o figlia, di Gerusalemme; ecco viene a te il tuo Re, il Giusto, il Salvatore: Egli è povero, e cavalca un'asina e un asinello.
10 I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the war horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall command peace to the nations; his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.	10 Io disperderò i cocchi d'Efraim, i cavalli di Gerusalemme e gli strumenti da guerra saranno infranti. Egli annunzierà la pace alle nazioni. Il suo dominio sarà da mare a mare, e dal fiume all'estremità della terra.
11 As for you also, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will set your captives free from the waterless pit.	11 E tu, col sangue del tuo testamento, hai liberati i tuoi, che eran prigionieri nella fossa senz'acqua.
12 Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double.	12 Ritornate alla fortezza, o prigionieri (pieni) di speranza, anche oggi t'annunzio che ti renderò il doppio.
13 For I have bent Judah as my bow; I have made Ephraim its arrow. I will brandish your sons, O Zion, over your sons, O Greece, and wield you like a warrior's sword.	13 Perchè mi son teso Giuda come un arco; ho riempito Efraim: susciterò i tuoi figli, o Sion, contro i tuoi figli, o Grecia, e ti renderò come una spada d'eroe.
14 Then the LORD will appear over them, and his arrow go forth like lightning; the Lord GOD will sound the trumpet, and march forth in the whirlwinds of the south.	14 Sopra di loro si vedrà il Signore Dio; come un folgore scoccherà il suo dardo: il Signore Dio darà il segno colla tromba, s'avanzerà sui turbini dell'Austro.
15 The LORD of hosts will protect them, and they shall devour and tread down the slingers; and they shall drink their blood like wine, and be full like a bowl, drenched like the corners of the altar.	15 Il Signore degli eserciti li proteggerà: divoreranno, abbatteranno colle pietre della fionda, beveranno e saranno inebriati come dal vino, saranno ripieni come coppe, come corni dell'altare.
16 On that day the LORD their God will save them for they are the flock of his people; for like the jewels of a crown they shall shine on his land.	16 E il Signore loro Dio li salverà in quel giorno, come gregge del suo popolo, perchè come pietre sante sorgeranno sopra la sua terra.
17 Yea, how good and how fair it shall be! Grain shall make the young men flourish, and new wine the maidens.	17 Qual'è il suo bene, quaì'è il suo bello, se non il frumento degli eletti, il vino che fa germogliare le vergini?
