Zechariah 2

1 And I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand!	1 Je levai les yeux, et je regardai ; et voici, il y avait un homme tenant dans la main un cordeau à mesurer.
2 Then I said, "Where are you going?" And he said to me, "To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its breadth and what is its length."	2 Et je dis : Où vas-tu ? Il me répondit : Je vais mesurer Jérusalem, pour voir quelle est sa largeur et quelle est sa longueur.
3 And behold, the angel who talked with me came forward, and another angel came forward to meet him,	3 Et voici, l'ange qui parlait en moi sortit ; et un autre ange vint à sa rencontre,
4 and said to him, "Run, say to that young man, 'Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of men and cattle in it.	4 et lui dit : Cours, parle à ce jeune homme, et dis-lui : Jérusalem sera une ville sans remparts, à cause de la multitude des hommes et des animaux qui seront au milieu d'elle.
5 For I will be to her a wall of fire round about, says the LORD, and I will be the glory within her.'"	5 Je serai moi-même pour elle, dit le Seigneur, un mur de feu tout autour, et je serai glorifié au milieu d'elle.
6 Ho! ho! Flee from the land of the north, says the LORD; for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, says the LORD.	6 Ah ! ah ! fuyez du pays de l'aquilon, dit le Seigneur ; car je vous ai dispersés aux (vers les) quatre vents du ciel, dit le Seigneur.
7 Ho! Escape to Zion, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.	7 Fuis, ô Sion, toi qui habites chez la fille de Babylone ;
8 For thus said the LORD of hosts, after his glory sent me to the nations who plundered you, for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye:	8 car ainsi parle le Seigneur des armées : Pour sa gloire (Après la gloire établie au milieu de vous), il m'a envoyé vers les nations qui vous ont dépouillés ; car celui qui vous touche, touche la prunelle de monœil.
9 "Behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they shall become plunder for those who served them. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me.	9 Voici, je vais lever (lève) ma main sur eux, et ils seront la proie de ceux qui étaient leurs esclaves ; et vous saurez que c'est le Seigneur des armées qui m'a envoyé.
10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for lo, I come and I will dwell in the midst of you, says the LORD.	10 Chante des cantiques de louange et sois dans la joie, fille de Sion, car voici, je viens et j'habiterai au milieu de toi, dit le Seigneur.
11 And many nations shall join themselves to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in the midst of you, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.	11 Des nations nombreuses s'attacheront au Seigneur en ce jour-là et deviendront mon peuple, et j'habiterai au milieu de toi ; et tu sauras que le Seigneur des armées m'a envoyé vers toi.
12 And the LORD will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem."	12 Le Seigneur possédera Juda comme sa part dans la terre sainte, et il choisira encore Jérusalem.
13 Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.	13 Que toute chair fasse silence devant la face du Seigneur, car il s'est élancé (réveillé du milieu) de sa demeure sainte !
