Hosea 8

1 Set the trumpet to your lips, for a vulture is over the house of the LORD, because they have broken my covenant, and transgressed my law.	1 Mets la trompette à ta bouche; l'ennemi fond comme un aigle sur la maison du Seigneur, parce qu'ils ont transgressé Mon alliance et qu'ils ont violé Ma loi.
2 To me they cry, My God, we Israel know thee.	2 Ils M'invoqueront: Mon Dieu, nous Vous reconnaissons, nous Israël.
3 Israel has spurned the good; the enemy shall pursue him.	3 Israël a rejeté le bien; l'ennemi le poursuivra.
4 They made kings, but not through me. They set up princes, but without my knowledge. With their silver and gold they made idols for their own destruction.	4 Ils ont régné, et non par Moi; ils ont été princes, et Je ne l'ai pas su. Avec leur or et leur argent ils se sont fait des idoles, pour leur perte.
5 I have spurned your calf, O Samaria. My anger burns against them. How long will it be till they are pure	5 Ton veau a été renversé, Samarie, Ma fureur s'est allumée contre eux. Jusques à quand ne pourront-ils se purifier?
6 in Israel? A workman made it; it is not God. The calf of Samaria shall be broken to pieces.	6 Car il vient d'Israël; c'est un artisan qui l'a fait, et il n'est pas un Dieu, car le veau de Samarie aura le sort des toiles d'araignées.
7 For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no heads, it shall yield no meal; if it were to yield, aliens would devour it.	7 Ils ont semé le vent, et ils moissonneront la tempête; il n'y a pas en lui un épi debout; son grain ne donnera pas de farine, et, s'il en donne, les étrangers la mangeront.
8 Israel is swallowed up; already they are among the nations as a useless vessel.	8 Israël est perdu; il est maintenant parmi les nations comme un vase impur.
9 For they have gone up to Assyria, a wild ass wandering alone; Ephraim has hired lovers.	9 Car ils sont montés vers Assur, comme un âne sauvage qui se tient à l'écart. Ephraïm a donné des présents à ses amants.
10 Though they hire allies among the nations, I will soon gather them up. 13 They love sacrifice; they sacrifice flesh and eat it; but the LORD has no delight in them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins; they shall return to Egypt.	13 Ils offriront des victimes, ils les immoleront et ils en mangeront la chair, et le Seigneur ne les recevra pas; Il va Se souvenir de leur iniquité et Il châtiera leurs péchés: ils retourneront en Egypte.
14 For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and built palaces; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour his strongholds.	14 Israël a oublié Celui qui l'a créé, et il a bâti des temples; Juda a multiplié les villes fortes; mais J'enverrai le feu dans ses villes, et il dévorera ses édifices.
