Jeremiah 19

1 Thus said the LORD, "Go, buy a potter's earthen flask, and take some of the elders of the people and some of the senior priests,	1 So sprach der Herr zu mir: "Gehe hin und kaufe dir einen irdenen Krug, nimm mit dir einige Älteste aus dem Volk und von den Priestern,
2 and go out to the valley of the son of Hinnom at the entry of the Potsherd Gate, and proclaim there the words that I tell you.	2 und gehe hinaus zum Tal Ben-Hinnom an den Eingang des Scherbentores! Verkündige dort die Worte, die ich zu dir rede!
3 You shall say, 'Hear the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon this place that the ears of every one who hears of it will tingle.	3 Sprich: Höret das Wort des Herrn, ihr Könige von Juda und ihr Bewohner Jerusalems! So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Fürwahr, ich bringe Unheil über diese Stätte, daß jedem, der davon hört, die Ohren gellen.
4 Because the people have forsaken me, and have profaned this place by burning incense in it to other gods whom neither they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah have known; and because they have filled this place with the blood of innocents,	4 Sie verließen mich ja, haben diesen Ort mir entfremdet und brachten an ihm anderen Göttern, von denen sie selbst, ihre Väter und die Könige von Juda früher nichts wußten, Rauchopfer dar und erfüllten diese Stätte mit dem Blut von Unschuldigen.
5 and have built the high places of Baal to burn their sons in the fire as burnt offerings to Baal, which I did not command or decree, nor did it come into my mind;	5 Sie errichteten die Opferstätte des Baal, um ihre Söhne im Feuer als Brandopfer für den Baal zu verbrennen, was ich nicht geboten und nicht befohlen habe und was mir nie in den Sinn gekommen ist.
6 therefore, behold, days are coming, says the LORD, when this place shall no more be called Topheth, or the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of Slaughter.	6 Darum werden Tage kommen" - Spruch des Herrn -, "da diese Stätte nicht mehr Tophet und Tal Ben-Hinnom heißen wird, sondern "Würgetal".
7 And in this place I will make void the plans of Judah and Jerusalem, and will cause their people to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those who seek their life. I will give their dead bodies for food to the birds of the air and to the beasts of the earth.	7 Dann vereitle ich den Plan Judas und Jerusalems an dieser Stätte. Ich lasse sie durch das Schwert vor ihren Feinden fallen, und durch die Hand derer, die ihnen nach dem Leben trachten. Ich gebe ihre Leichname den Vögeln des Himmels und den Tieren des Feldes zum Fraß.
8 And I will make this city a horror, a thing to be hissed at; every one who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss because of all its disasters.	8 Ich mache diese Stadt zum Gegenstand des Entsetzens und des Spottes: Wer immer an ihr vorübergeht, wird entsetzt sein und über all ihre Schicksalsschläge spotten.
9 And I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and their daughters, and every one shall eat the flesh of his neighbor in the siege and in the distress, with which their enemies and those who seek their life afflict them.'	9 Das Fleisch ihrer Söhne und das Fleisch ihrer Töchter gebe ich ihnen zur Nahrung; einer wird sich vom Fleisch des andern ernähren in der Drangsal und Not, die ihre Feinde und alle, die ihnen nach dem Leben trachten, über sie bringen.
10 "Then you shall break the flask in the sight of the men who go with you,	10 Zerschmettere den Krug vor den Augen der Männer, die mit dir gegangen sind!
11 and shall say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: So will I break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter's vessel, so that it can never be mended. Men shall bury in Topheth because there will be no place else to bury.	11 Sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen: Ebenso zerschmettere ich dieses Volk und diese Stadt da, wie man Töpfergeschirr zerbricht, so daß es nicht wiederhergestellt werden kann. Das Tophet wird als Begräbnisstätte dienen, weil es zum Begraben keinen Platz mehr gibt.
12 Thus will I do to this place, says the LORD, and to its inhabitants, making this city like Topheth.	12 So will ich mit diesem Orte verfahren" - Spruch des Herrn - "und mit seinen Bewohnern, indem ich diese Stadt dem Tophet gleichmache.
13 The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah--all the houses upon whose roofs incense has been burned to all the host of heaven, and drink offerings have been poured out to other gods--shall be defiled like the place of Topheth.'"	13 Die Häuser von Jerusalem und die Häuser der Könige Judas sollen unrein werden und gleich der Stätte des Tophet, alle die Häuser, auf deren Dächern man dem ganzen Himmelsheere räucherte und fremden Göttern Trankopfer spendete."
14 Then Jeremiah came from Topheth, where the LORD had sent him to prophesy, and he stood in the court of the LORD's house, and said to all the people:	14 Jeremias aber kehrte vom Tophet, wohin ihn der Herr mit prophetischem Auftrag gesandt hatte, zurück, trat in den Vorhof des Hauses des Herrn und sprach zum ganzen Volke:
15 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing upon this city and upon all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their neck, refusing to hear my words."	15 "So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: "Wahrlich, ich bringe über diese Stadt und über alle zu ihr gehörigen Orte sämtliches Unheil, das ich ihr angedroht habe! Denn sie versteiften ihren Nacken und hörten nicht auf meine Worte.""
