Leviticus 25

1 The LORD said to Moses on Mount Sinai,	1 El Señor habló a Moisés en el monte Sinaí:
2 "Say to the people of Israel, When you come into the land which I give you, the land shall keep a sabbath to the LORD.	2 «Di a los hijos de Israel: “Cuando entréis en la tierra que yo voy a daros, la tierra gozará también de su descanso en honor del Señor.
3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather in its fruits;	3 Seis años sembrarás tu campo, seis años podarás tu viña y la vendimiarás;
4 but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the LORD; you shall not sow your field or prune your vineyard.	4 pero el séptimo año será de completo descanso para la tierra, un sábado en honor del Señor: no sembrarás tu campo, ni podarás tu viña.
5 What grows of itself in your harvest you shall not reap, and the grapes of your undressed vine you shall not gather; it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.	5 No segarás los rebrotes de la última siega, ni vendimiarás los racimos de tu viña inculta. Será año de descanso completo para la tierra.
6 The sabbath of the land shall provide food for you, for yourself and for your male and female slaves and for your hired servant and the sojourner who lives with you;	6 La tierra, incluso en su descanso, os alimentará a ti, y a tu siervo, y a tu sierva, y a tu jornalero, y al emigrante que vive contigo.
7 for your cattle also and for the beasts that are in your land all its yield shall be for food.	7 Todo lo que produzca servirá de pasto también a tus ganados y a los animales salvajes.
8 "And you shall count seven weeks of years, seven times seven years, so that the time of the seven weeks of years shall be to you forty-nine years.	8 Haz el cómputo de siete semanas de años, siete veces siete, de modo que las sietes semanas de años sumarán cuarenta y nueve años.
9 Then you shall send abroad the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the day of atonement you shall send abroad the trumpet throughout all your land.	9 El día diez del séptimo mes harás oír el son de la trompeta: el día de la expiación haréis resonar la trompeta por toda vuestra tierra.
10 And you shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants; it shall be a jubilee for you, when each of you shall return to his property and each of you shall return to his family.	10 Declararéis santo el año cincuenta y promulgaréis por el país liberación para todos sus habitantes. Será para vosotros un jubileo: cada uno recobrará su propiedad y retornará a su familia.
11 A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be to you; in it you shall neither sow, nor reap what grows of itself, nor gather the grapes from the undressed vines.	11 El año cincuenta será para vosotros año jubilar: no sembraréis, ni segaréis los rebrotes, ni vendimiaréis las cepas no cultivadas.
12 For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat what it yields out of the field.	12 Porque es el año jubilar, que será sagrado para vosotros. Comeréis lo que den vuestros campos por sí mismos.
13 "In this year of jubilee each of you shall return to his property.	13 En este año jubilar cada uno recobrará su propiedad.
14 And if you sell to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor, you shall not wrong one another.	14 Si vendes o compras algo a tu prójimo, que nadie perjudique a su hermano.
15 According to the number of years after the jubilee, you shall buy from your neighbor, and according to the number of years for crops he shall sell to you.	15 Lo que compres a tu prójimo se tasará según el número de años transcurridos después del jubileo. Él te lo cobrará según el número de cosechas restantes:
16 If the years are many you shall increase the price, and if the years are few you shall diminish the price, for it is the number of the crops that he is selling to you.	16 cuantos más años falten, más alto será el precio; cuantos menos, tanto menor será el precio. Porque lo que él te vende es el número de cosechas.
17 You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God; for I am the LORD your God.	17 Que nadie perjudique a su prójimo. Y teme a tu Dios, porque yo soy el Señor, vuestro Dios.
18 "Therefore you shall do my statutes, and keep my ordinances and perform them; so you will dwell in the land securely.	18 Cumplid mis leyes y guardad mis normas, poniéndolas por obra; así viviréis seguros en esta tierra.
19 The land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill, and dwell in it securely.	19 Y la tierra dará sus frutos, y comeréis hasta saciaros; y habitaréis seguros en ella.
20 And if you say, 'What shall we eat in the seventh year, if we may not sow or gather in our crop?'	20 Si os preguntáis: ¿Qué vamos a comer el año séptimo, si no podremos sembrar ni recoger la cosecha?,
21 I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, so that it will bring forth fruit for three years.	21 yo os mandaré mi bendición para el año sexto, de modo que produzca para tres años.
22 When you sow in the eighth year, you will be eating old produce; until the ninth year, when its produce comes in, you shall eat the old.	22 Cuando sembréis el año octavo, seguiréis todavía comiendo de la cosecha anterior. Hasta que recojáis la nueva cosecha del año noveno, seguiréis comiendo de la anterior.
23 The land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine; for you are strangers and sojourners with me.	23 La tierra no puede venderse a perpetuidad, porque la tierra es mía, y vosotros sois emigrantes y huéspedes en mi tierra.
24 And in all the country you possess, you shall grant a redemption of the land.	24 En todo terreno de vuestra propiedad concederéis derecho de rescate de la tierra.
25 "If your brother becomes poor, and sells part of his property, then his next of kin shall come and redeem what his brother has sold.	25 Si un hermano tuyo se empobrece y vende parte de su propiedad, su pariente más cercano vendrá y rescatará lo vendido por su hermano.
26 If a man has no one to redeem it, and then himself becomes prosperous and finds sufficient means to redeem it,	26 Y si alguien no tiene quien lo rescate, pero él mismo adquiere recursos suficientes para el rescate,
27 let him reckon the years since he sold it and pay back the overpayment to the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return to his property.	27 descontará los años pasados desde la venta y abonará al comprador lo que falta; así recobrará su propiedad.
28 But if he has not sufficient means to get it back for himself, then what he sold shall remain in the hand of him who bought it until the year of jubilee; in the jubilee it shall be released, and he shall return to his property.	28 Pero si no obtiene lo suficiente para recobrarla, la propiedad vendida quedará en poder del comprador hasta el año jubilar, y en el año jubilar quedará libre; y volverá a ser propiedad del vendedor.
29 "If a man sells a dwelling house in a walled city, he may redeem it within a whole year after its sale; for a full year he shall have the right of redemption.	29 Si uno vende una vivienda en ciudad amurallada, tiene derecho a rescatarla hasta que se cumpla el año de su venta; su derecho de rescate dura un año.
30 If it is not redeemed within a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be made sure in perpetuity to him who bought it, throughout his generations; it shall not be released in the jubilee.	30 Si no ha sido rescatada en el plazo de un año, la casa situada en ciudad amurallada será a perpetuidad del comprador y de sus descendientes, y no quedará libre en el año jubilar.
31 But the houses of the villages which have no wall around them shall be reckoned with the fields of the country; they may be redeemed, and they shall be released in the jubilee.	31 En cambio, las casas de las aldeas no amuralladas serán consideradas como fincas rústicas: gozarán de derecho de rescate y en el año jubilar quedarán libres.
32 Nevertheless the cities of the Levites, the houses in the cities of their possession, the Levites may redeem at any time.	32 Los levitas tendrán derecho perpetuo de rescate sobre las casas que tienen en las ciudades de su propiedad.
33 And if one of the Levites does not exercise his right of redemption, then the house that was sold in a city of their possession shall be released in the jubilee; for the houses in the cities of the Levites are their possession among the people of Israel.	33 Si no se rescata algo perteneciente a un levita, lo que ha vendido, cuando es casa en una ciudad de su propiedad, quedará libre en el año jubilar; porque las casas de las ciudades de los levitas son su propiedad entre los hijos de Israel.
34 But the fields of common land belonging to their cities may not be sold; for that is their perpetual possession.	34 Los campos que rodean sus ciudades no pueden ser vendidos, pues son propiedad suya a perpetuidad.
35 "And if your brother becomes poor, and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall maintain him; as a stranger and a sojourner he shall live with you.	35 Si un hermano tuyo se empobrece y no se puede mantener, lo sustentarás como al emigrante o al huésped, para que pueda vivir contigo.
36 Take no interest from him or increase, but fear your God; that your brother may live beside you.	36 No le exigirás interés ni recargo, sino que temerás a tu Dios y dejarás vivir a tu hermano contigo.
37 You shall not lend him your money at interest, nor give him your food for profit.	37 No le prestarás dinero con interés ni le darás víveres con recargo.
38 I am the LORD your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.	38 Yo soy el Señor, vuestro Dios, que os saqué de la tierra de Egipto, para daros la tierra de Canaán y ser vuestro Dios.
39 "And if your brother becomes poor beside you, and sells himself to you, you shall not make him serve as a slave:	39 Si un hermano tuyo se empobrece en sus negocios contigo y se te vende, no le impondrás trabajos de esclavo;
40 he shall be with you as a hired servant and as a sojourner. He shall serve with you until the year of the jubilee;	40 estará contigo como jornalero o como huésped, y trabajará junto a ti hasta el año del jubileo.
41 then he shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and go back to his own family, and return to the possession of his fathers.	41 Entonces saldrá libre de tu casa, él y sus hijos con él, y volverá a su familia y a la propiedad de sus padres.
42 For they are my servants, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt; they shall not be sold as slaves.	42 Al ser siervos míos, a quienes yo saqué de la tierra de Egipto, no pueden ser vendidos como esclavos.
43 You shall not rule over him with harshness, but shall fear your God.	43 No lo tratarás con dureza, sino que temerás a tu Dios.
44 As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are round about you.	44 Los siervos y las siervas que poseas, serán de los pueblos que os rodean; de ellos podréis adquirir siervos y siervas.
45 You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their families that are with you, who have been born in your land; and they may be your property.	45 También podréis comprarlos de entre los hijos de los huéspedes que residen entre vosotros, y de la familia que vive entre vosotros y les ha nacido en vuestra tierra. Esos pueden ser propiedad vuestra
46 You may bequeath them to your sons after you, to inherit as a possession for ever; you may make slaves of them, but over your brethren the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another, with harshness.	46 y los podréis dejar en herencia como propiedad perpetua a los hijos que os sucedan. A esos los podréis tener como siervos; pero en cuanto a vuestros hermanos, los hijos de Israel, nadie tratará a su hermano con dureza.
47 "If a stranger or sojourner with you becomes rich, and your brother beside him becomes poor and sells himself to the stranger or sojourner with you, or to a member of the stranger's family,	47 Si el emigrante o huésped que mora contigo adquiere bienes, y un hermano tuyo se empobrece en negocios que tiene con él, y se vende al emigrante que mora contigo, o a algún descendiente de la familia del emigrante,
48 then after he is sold he may be redeemed; one of his brothers may redeem him,	48 después de haberse vendido le quedará el derecho de rescate: lo rescatará uno de sus hermanos,
49 or his uncle, or his cousin may redeem him, or a near kinsman belonging to his family may redeem him; or if he grows rich he may redeem himself.	49 su tío paterno, o su primo, o algún otro pariente cercano dentro de su familia; él mismo podrá también rescatarse si le alcanzan los recursos.
50 He shall reckon with him who bought him from the year when he sold himself to him until the year of jubilee, and the price of his release shall be according to the number of years; the time he was with his owner shall be rated as the time of a hired servant.	50 Calculará con su comprador los años desde el año de la venta hasta el año jubilar; y el precio se calculará en proporción a los años, valorando sus días de trabajo como los de un jornalero.
51 If there are still many years, according to them he shall refund out of the price paid for him the price for his redemption.	51 Si faltan todavía muchos años, en proporción a ellos devolverá, como precio de su rescate, una parte del precio de venta.
52 If there remain but a few years until the year of jubilee, he shall make a reckoning with him; according to the years of service due from him he shall refund the money for his redemption.	52 Si faltan pocos años para el jubileo, se hará el cálculo en proporción a ellos, y lo pagará como rescate:
53 As a servant hired year by year shall he be with him; he shall not rule with harshness over him in your sight.	53 como un jornalero que se ajusta año por año. No permitas que se le trate con dureza ante tus propios ojos.
54 And if he is not redeemed by these means, then he shall be released in the year of jubilee, he and his children with him.	54 Pero, si no es rescatado de alguna de esas maneras, quedará libre el año del jubileo, él y sus hijos con él.
55 For to me the people of Israel are servants, they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.	55 Porque los hijos de Israel me pertenecen a mí como siervos; siervos míos son, que yo los saqué de la tierra de Egipto. Yo soy el Señor, vuestro Dios.
