Isaiah 3

1 For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, is taking away from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water;	1 Eis que o dominador, o Senhor dos exércitos está para tirar de Jerusalém e de Judá todo o sustento e todo o amparo, todo o recurso do pão e todo o recurso da água,
2 the mighty man and the soldier, the judge and the prophet, the diviner and the elder,	2 o homem forte e o guerreiro, o juiz e o profeta, o adivinho e o ancião,
3 the captain of fifty and the man of rank, the counselor and the skilful magician and the expert in charms.	3 o chefe de cinqüenta (homens), o grande e o conselheiro, o conhecedor de segredos e o entendido em encantamentos.
4 And I will make boys their princes, and babes shall rule over them.	4 Dar-lhes-ei meninos por príncipes, e dominá-los-ão efeminados.
5 And the people will oppress one another, every man his fellow and every man his neighbor; the youth will be insolent to the elder, and the base fellow to the honorable.	5 O povo se entrechocará, homem contra homem, cada um contra o seu próximo; levantar-se-á o jovem contra o velho, e o plebeu contra o nobre.
6 When a man takes hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying: "You have a mantle; you shall be our leader, and this heap of ruins shall be under your rule";	6 Tomará um o seu próprio irmão, na casa de seu pai, (e lhe dirá): Tu tens um manto, sê nosso príncipe e põe esta ruína sob o teu poder.
7 in that day he will speak out, saying: "I will not be a healer; in my house there is neither bread nor mantle; you shall not make me leader of the people."	7 Esse tal responderá naquele dia dizendo: Não sou médico, e em minha casa não há pão nem veste; não queirais constituir-me príncipe do povo.
8 For Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah has fallen; because their speech and their deeds are against the LORD, defying his glorious presence.	8 Pois Jerusalém vai-se arruinando, e Judá caindo, porque as suas palavras e as suas obras são contra o Senhor, provocam os olhos da sua majestade.
9 Their partiality witnesses against them; they proclaim their sin like Sodom, they do not hide it. Woe to them! For they have brought evil upon themselves.	9 O próprio aspecto do seu semblante depõe contra eles, pois fizeram, como os de Sodoma, pública ostentação do seu pecado, em vez de-o encobrirem. Desgraçados deles, que são os causadores da própria ruína!
10 Tell the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds.	10 Dizei ao justo que ele será bem sucedido, pois comerá o fruto das suas obras.
11 Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for what his hands have done shall be done to him.	11 Ai do ímpio maléfico! A desgraça será sobre ele, segundo merecem as suas ações.
12 My people-- children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, your leaders mislead you, and confuse the course of your paths.	12 O meu povo é oprimido por meninos, governado por mulheres. Povo meu, os que te dirigem, desencaminham-te, destroem o caminho que deves seguir.
13 The LORD has taken his place to contend, he stands to judge his people.	13 O Senhor levanta-se para fazer justiça, está de pé para julgar os povos,
14 The LORD enters into judgment with the elders and princes of his people: "It is you who have devoured the vineyard, the spoil of the poor is in your houses.	14 O Senhor entrará em juízo com os anciães do seu povo e com os seus príncipes: Vós devorastes a minha vinha, e as rapinas feitas ao pobre encontram-se em vossa casa.
15 What do you mean by crushing my people, by grinding the face of the poor?" says the Lord GOD of hosts.	15 Por que razão calcais aos pés o meu povo, e moeis às pancadas os rostos dos pobres? — diz o Senhor Deus dos exércitos.
16 The LORD said: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walk with outstretched necks, glancing wantonly with their eyes, mincing along as they go, tinkling with their feet;	16 Ainda disse (mais) o Senhor: Pois que as filhas de Sião se elevaram, e andaram com a cabeça emproada, lançando olhares (desavergonhados), caminhando (afetadamente) a passo miúdo, fazendo ruído com as argolas dos pés,
17 the Lord will smite with a scab the heads of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will lay bare their secret parts.	17 o Senhor tornará calva a cabeça das filhas de Sião, despojá-las-á do seu cabelo.
18 In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets, the headbands, and the crescents;	18 Naquele dia lhes tirará o Senhor os seus adornos: anéis, sóis, lúnulas,
19 the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarfs;	19 arrecadas, braceletes, véus,
20 the headdresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets;	20 diademas, cadeias dos pés, cintos, caixas de perfume, amuletos,
21 the signet rings and nose rings;	21 anéis dos dedos e do nariz,
22 the festal robes, the mantles, the cloaks, and the handbags;	22 vestidos de festa, mantos, chales e bolsas,
23 the garments of gauze, the linen garments, the turbans, and the veils.	23 espelhos e musselinas, turbantes e mantilhas.
24 Instead of perfume there will be rottenness; and instead of a girdle, a rope; and instead of well-set hair, baldness; and instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth; instead of beauty, shame.	24 Então em lugar de cheiro suave, terão fetidez, e por cinta uma corda; em lugar de cabelos entrançados, a calvície; em lugar de vestido sumptuoso, um saco; em lugar da beleza, uma marca feita a fogo.
25 Your men shall fall by the sword and your mighty men in battle.	25 Também os teus homens cairão mortos à espada, e os teus valentes (sucumbirão) no combate.
26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; ravaged, she shall sit upon the ground.	26 As portas de Jerusalém estarão na tristeza e no luto e ela, desolada, sentar-se-á na terra.
