1 An oracle concerning Moab. Because Ar is laid waste in a night Moab is undone; because Kir is laid waste in a night Moab is undone.	1 Wyrok na Moab; o tak, w nocy spustoszone, Ar-Moab zginęło! O tak, w nocy spustoszone, Kir-Moab zginęło!
2 The daughter of Dibon has gone up to the high places to weep; over Nebo and over Medeba Moab wails. On every head is baldness, every beard is shorn;	2 Córa Dibonu wstąpiła na wyżyny, by płakać; nad Nebo i nad Medebą Moab lamentuje. Ostrzyżona każda jego głowa, każda broda zgolona.
3 in the streets they gird on sackcloth; on the housetops and in the squares every one wails and melts in tears.	3 Na jego ulicach przywdziewają wór, na jego dachach jęczą. Na placach jego wszystko zawodzi, we łzach się rozpływa.
4 Heshbon and Ele-aleh cry out, their voice is heard as far as Jahaz; therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud; his soul trembles.	4 Cheszbon i Eleale krzyknęły, aż do Jahas słychać ich głos. Dlatego drżą nerki Moabu, zalękła się jego dusza.
5 My heart cries out for Moab; his fugitives flee to Zoar, to Eglath-shelishiyah. For at the ascent of Luhith they go up weeping; on the road to Horonaim they raise a cry of destruction;	5 Moje serce nad Moabem jęczy, jego uchodźcy idą aż do Soar /Eglat Szeliszijja/. O tak, drogą pod górę do Luchit z płaczem wstępują! O tak, na drodze do Choronaim podnoszą krzyk rozpaczy!
6 the waters of Nimrim are a desolation; the grass is withered, the new growth fails, the verdure is no more.	6 Zaiste, wody Nimrim stają się pustkowiem, bo trawa wyschła, zniknęła murawa, zabrakło zieleni.
7 Therefore the abundance they have gained and what they have laid up they carry away over the Brook of the Willows.	7 Dlatego robią zapasy, a swe zasoby przenoszą za Potok Wierzbowy.
8 For a cry has gone round the land of Moab; the wailing reaches to Eglaim, the wailing reaches to Beer-elim.	8 Zaprawdę, krzyk obiega granice Moabu, aż do Eglaim brzmi jego biadanie, w Beer-Elim jego zawodzenie.
9 For the waters of Dibon are full of blood; yet I will bring upon Dibon even more, a lion for those of Moab who escape, for the remnant of the land.	9 Doprawdy, wody Dimonu są pełne krwi, bo zsyłam na Dimon dodatkowe klęski: lwa na ocalonych z Moabu i na pozostałych w kraju.
