1 Wisdom builds her house, but folly with her own hands tears it down.	1 - La donna saggia edifica la sua casa, e la stolta con le sue stesse mani, quella fatta la disfà.
2 He who walks in uprightness fears the LORD, but he who is devious in his ways despises him.	2 Chi cammina nel retto sentiero è uno che teme Dio, da colui è disprezzato, che batte una via ignominiosa.
3 The talk of a fool is a rod for his back, but the lips of the wise will preserve them.	3 In bocca allo stolto è la verga della superbia, ma le labbra dei saggi sono a loro custodia.
4 Where there are no oxen, there is no grain; but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox.	4 Dove non sono buoi la mangiatoia è vuota, ma dove le biade abbondano è manifesta la forza di essi.
5 A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies.	5 Il testimonio fedele non mente e il testimonio falso dice menzogne.
6 A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding.	6 Il derisore cerca la sapienza e non la trova, ma ai prudenti la sapienza è facile.
7 Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.	7 Va' contro all'uomo stolto, egli non conosce i dettami della prudenza.
8 The wisdom of a prudent man is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving.	8 La sapienza dell'uomo accorto sta in conoscere la sua strada, e l'imprudenza degli stolti è fallace.
9 God scorns the wicked, but the upright enjoy his favor.	9 Lo stolto si fa giuoco del peccato, ma tra i giusti dimora la grazia.
10 The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger shares its joy.	10 Il cuore sa lui la sua amarezza, anche alla sua gioia non ammette alcun estraneo.
11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.	11 La casa degli empi andrà distrutta e i padiglioni dei giusti saranno floridi.
12 There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.	12 C'è una strada che all'uomo sembra giusta, ma il suo estremo conduce alla morte.
13 Even in laughter the heart is sad, and the end of joy is grief.	13 Il riso sarà mescolato col dolore e all'estremità della gioia succederà l'afflizione.
14 A perverse man will be filled with the fruit of his ways, and a good man with the fruit of his deeds.	14 L'uomo stolto si sazierà dei frutti della sua condotta, ma molto meglio di lui l'uomo buono.
15 The simple believes everything, but the prudent looks where he is going.	15 L'ingenuo presta fede ad ogni parola, ma l'avveduto considera i suoi passi. Non avrà mai bene il figlio ingannatoreal servo sapiente prospereranno le faccende, e le sue vie riusciranno.
16 A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool throws off restraint and is careless.	16 Il saggio teme e schiva il male, lo stolto trascorre e si tiene sicuro.
17 A man of quick temper acts foolishly, but a man of discretion is patient.	17 L'uomo impaziente farà qualche pazzia, l'uomo astuto riuscirà odioso.
18 The simple acquire folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.	18 Gli sciocchi avranno in retaggio la stoltezza, agli avveduti spetterà l'aureola della scienza.
19 The evil bow down before the good, the wicked at the gates of the righteous.	19 I tristi s'inchineranno dinanzi ai buonie i malvagi staranno alle porte dei giusti.
20 The poor is disliked even by his neighbor, but the rich has many friends.	20 Anche al suo prossimo è in odio il povero e gli amici del ricco sono molti.
21 He who despises his neighbor is a sinner, but happy is he who is kind to the poor.	21 Chi sprezza il suo prossimo fa peccato e chi ha pietà dei poverelli, beato lui! Chi crede nel Signore ama la misericordia.
22 Do they not err that devise evil? Those who devise good meet loyalty and faithfulness.	22 Errano quelli che operano il male! la misericordia e la verità sono artefici di bene.
23 In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to want.	23 Sempre dove c'è lavoro c'è abbondanza, ma dove sono molte parole ivi spesso è la penuria.
24 The crown of the wise is their wisdom, but folly is the garland of fools.	24 L'aureola dei saggi è la loro ricchezza, la follia degli stolti follia resta.
25 A truthful witness saves lives, but one who utters lies is a betrayer.	25 Il testimonio verace libera le anime, e chi dice menzogne è un malintenzionato.
26 In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge.	26 Nel timore di Dio c'è una forza fiduciosa e sarà pei suoi figli una speranza.
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death.	27 Il timor del Signore è una sorgente di vita per sfuggire alla rovina della morte.
28 In a multitude of people is the glory of a king, but without people a prince is ruined.	28 Nella moltitudine del popolo è l'onore del re e nella scarsezza dei sudditi la vergogna del sovrano.
29 He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.	29 Chi è paziente si regola con molta prudenza, chi è impaziente manifesta la sua follia.
30 A tranquil mind gives life to the flesh, but passion makes the bones rot.	30 Sanità di cuore dà vita a tutto il corpo, ma tarlo delle ossa l'invidia.
31 He who oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.	31 Chi maltratta il medico fa onta al suo fattore e chi ha pietà del poverello gli dà gloria.
32 The wicked is overthrown through his evil-doing, but the righteous finds refuge through his integrity.	32 Nella sua malizia l'empio si sente travolto, ma il giusto anche in punto di morte spera.
33 Wisdom abides in the mind of a man of understanding, but it is not known in the heart of fools.	33 Nel cuore del prudente la scienza riposa e saprà istruire qualunque ignorante.
34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.	34 La giustizia esalta una nazione, ma il peccato immiserisce i popoli.
35 A servant who deals wisely has the king's favor, but his wrath falls on one who acts shamefully.	35 Il ministro intelligente è ben voluto dal re, e quello disutile proverà la sua collera.
