Psalms 85

1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. LORD, thou wast favorable to thy land; thou didst restore the fortunes of Jacob.	1 Per il capocoro. Dei figli di Korakh, Salmo.
2 Thou didst forgive the iniquity of thy people; thou didst pardon all their sin. [Selah]	2 Hai favorito, o Jahvè, la tua terra; hai rovesciato le sorti di Giacobbe.
3 Thou didst withdraw all thy wrath; thou didst turn from thy hot anger.	3 Hai tolto la colpa del tuo popolo, hai coperto tutti i loro peccati.
4 Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away thy indignation toward us!	4 Hai frenato tutti i tuoi impeti; hai desistito dal furore della tua ira.
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt thou prolong thy anger to all generations?	5 Ristoraci, o Dio della nostra salvezza; fa’ cessare la tua irritazione con noi.
6 Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee?	6 Perché in eterno ti adiri contro di noi? E stenderai la tua ira di generazione in generazione?
7 Show us thy steadfast love, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.	7 Non tornerai tu a farci rivivere, in modo che il tuo popolo si allieti in te?
8 Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints, to those who turn to him in their hearts.	8 Mostraci, Jahvè, la tua bontà e donaci la tua salute.
9 Surely his salvation is at hand for those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.	9 Voglio sentire ciò che dice Dio Jahvè, poiché parla di pace al suo popolo e ai suoi fedeli e a coloro che tornano di cuore a lui.
10 Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other.	10 Certo è vicina la sua salvezza, in modo che la sua gloria abiti nella nostra terra.
11 Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky.	11 Bontà e Verità si sono incontrate, Giustizia e Pace si sono baciate.
12 Yea, the LORD will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.	12 La verità germoglia dalla terra e la giustizia guarda dai cieli.
13 Righteousness will go before him, and make his footsteps a way.	13 E Jahvè darà ogni bene e la nostra terra darà il suo frutto.
	14 Giustizia gli va innanzi e pone mente alla via dei suoi passi.
