Psalms 75

1 To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song. We give thanks to thee, O God; we give thanks; we call on thy name and recount thy wondrous deeds.	1 Au maître de chant. Sur l’air “ne détruis pas…”. Psaume d’Asaf. Cantique.
2 At the set time which I appoint I will judge with equity.	2 Nous voulons, ô Dieu, nous voulons te louer; ceux qui vénèrent ton nom rediront tes merveilles.
3 When the earth totters, and all its inhabitants, it is I who keep steady its pillars. [Selah]	3 “Laissez-moi fixer la date, et je ferai le juge, je mettrai la justice.
4 I say to the boastful, "Do not boast," and to the wicked, "Do not lift up your horn;	4 Le monde est bouleversé avec ses habitants, à moi de rétablir ses bases!
5 do not lift up your horn on high, or speak with insolent neck."	5 Je dis aux arrogants: Baissez le ton! Je dis aux mécréants: Vous n’êtes pas les plus forts!
6 For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up;	6 Cessez de vous imposer par la force, ne parlez plus de Dieu avec orgueil.”
7 but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another.	7 Car le voici qui vient: pas de l’orient, ni du couchant, ni du désert, ni des montagnes:
8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, with foaming wine, well mixed; and he will pour a draught from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs.	8 mais il est là, Dieu, le juge, pour abaisser les uns, élever les autres.
9 But I will rejoice for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.	9 Le Seigneur tient en main la coupe avec son vin drogué, épicé. Il la passe, et les méchants tour à tour la vident, ils en avalent le mélange.
10 All the horns of the wicked he will cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.	10 J’ai là de quoi me réjouir, je n’en finirai pas; je chanterai le Dieu de Jacob.
	11 Aux méchants, il sciera les cornes, et ce sont les justes qui relèveront la tête.
