1 Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright.	1 Örvendezzetek igazak, az Úrban, igaz emberekhez illik a dicséret!
2 Praise the LORD with the lyre, make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!	2 Áldjátok az Urat lanttal, zengjetek neki dalt tízhúrú hárfával!
3 Sing to him a new song, play skilfully on the strings, with loud shouts.	3 Daloljatok neki új éneket, ujjongó szóval ügyesen zsoltárt énekeljetek neki!
4 For the word of the LORD is upright; and all his work is done in faithfulness.	4 Mert igaz az Úr igéje, és minden tette hűséggel teli.
5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD.	5 Az igazságot és a törvényt szereti; Az Úr irgalma betölti a földet.
6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.	6 Az Úr szava alkotta az egeket, szájának lehelete minden seregüket.
7 He gathered the waters of the sea as in a bottle; he put the deeps in storehouses.	7 A tenger vizeit mintegy tömlőbe gyűjtötte, az örvényeket tárházakba helyezte.
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD, let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!	8 Félje az Urat az egész föld, remegjen előtte a földkerekség minden lakója!
9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood forth.	9 Mert ő szólt, és meglettek, parancsolt, és létrejöttek.
10 The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nought; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.	10 Felforgatja az Úr a nemzetek szándékait, elveti a népek gondolatait.
11 The counsel of the LORD stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.	11 De megmarad az Úr terve mindörökre, szíve szándéka nemzedékről nemzedékre.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!	12 Boldog az a nemzet, amelynek Istene az Úr, az a nép, amelyet tulajdonául kiválasztott!
13 The LORD looks down from heaven, he sees all the sons of men;	13 Letekint az Úr az égből, mind látja az emberek fiait.
14 from where he sits enthroned he looks forth on all the inhabitants of the earth,	14 Hajlékából nézi a föld megannyi lakóját.
15 he who fashions the hearts of them all, and observes all their deeds.	15 Egytől-egyig ő alkotta szívüket, ismeri minden tettüket.
16 A king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.	16 Nem szabadítja meg a királyt a nagy sereg, s a hőst nem menti meg nagy ereje.
17 The war horse is a vain hope for victory, and by its great might it cannot save.	17 Nem nyújt neki a ló biztos segítséget, nem szabadítja meg hatalmas ereje.
18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,	18 De íme, nézi az Úr szeme azokat, akik félik őt, akik remélik irgalmát,
19 that he may deliver their soul from death, and keep them alive in famine.	19 és megmenti a haláltól lelküket, s éhínség idején is táplálja őket.
20 Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and shield.	20 Lelkünket az Úr hordozza, ő segít meg s oltalmaz minket.
21 Yea, our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.	21 Valóban, benne örvend a szívünk, és szent nevében reménykedünk.
22 Let thy steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in thee.	22 Legyen, Uram, irgalmad rajtunk, amint benned bizakodunk!
