Psalms 26

1 A Psalm of David. Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.	1 Di David. Fammi giustizia, Jahvè, perché nella mia integrità ho camminato, e in Jahvè confido, non vacillo!
2 Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and my mind.	2 Scrutami, Jahvè, e provami; saggia i miei reni e il mio cuore.
3 For thy steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in faithfulness to thee.	3 Perché la tua grazia sta dinanzi ai miei occhi e ho camminato nella tua fedeltà.
4 I do not sit with false men, nor do I consort with dissemblers;	4 Non mi sono seduto con uomini falsi e con gli ipocriti non tratto.
5 I hate the company of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked.	5 Aborrisco la masnada dei perversi e con gli empi non mi siedo.
6 I wash my hands in innocence, and go about thy altar, O LORD,	6 Lavo nell’innocenza le mie mani e giro intorno al tuo altare, Jahvè,
7 singing aloud a song of thanksgiving, and telling all thy wondrous deeds.	7 facendo risonare voci di grazie e narrando tutte le tue meraviglie.
8 O LORD, I love the habitation of thy house, and the place where thy glory dwells.	8 Jahvè, amo la dimora della tua casa e il luogo dove si attenda la tua gloria.
9 Sweep me not away with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men,	9 Non rapire con i peccatori la mia anima e la mia vita con i sanguinari,
10 men in whose hands are evil devices, and whose right hands are full of bribes.	10 i quali hanno nella mano l’infamia, e la loro destra è piena di doni.
11 But as for me, I walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me.	11 lo invece procedo nella mia integrità liberami e fammi grazia!
12 My foot stands on level ground; in the great congregation I will bless the LORD.	12 Il mio piede si è posato sul piano, nelle assemblee benedirò Jahvè.
