1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Deliver me, O LORD, from evil men; preserve me from violent men,	1 Al maestro del coro. Salmo. Di Davide.
2 who plan evil things in their heart, and stir up wars continually.	2 Liberami, Signore, dall’uomo malvagio,proteggimi dall’uomo violento,
3 They make their tongue sharp as a serpents, and under their lips is the poison of vipers. [Selah]	3 da quelli che tramano cose malvagie nel cuoree ogni giorno scatenano guerre.
4 Guard me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men, who have planned to trip up my feet.	4 Aguzzano la lingua come serpenti,veleno di vipera è sotto le loro labbra.
5 Arrogant men have hidden a trap for me, and with cords they have spread a net, by the wayside they have set snares for me. [Selah]	5 Proteggimi, Signore, dalle mani dei malvagi,salvami dall’uomo violento:essi tramano per farmi cadere.
6 I say to the LORD, Thou art my God; give ear to the voice of my supplications, O LORD!	6 I superbi hanno nascosto lacci e funi,hanno teso una rete sul mio sentieroe contro di me hanno preparato agguati.
7 O LORD, my Lord, my strong deliverer, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.	7 Io dico al Signore: tu sei il mio Dio;ascolta, Signore, la voce della mia supplica.
8 Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; do not further his evil plot! [Selah]	8 Signore Dio, forza che mi salva,proteggi il mio capo nel giorno della lotta.
9 Those who surround me lift up their head, let the mischief of their lips overwhelm them!	9 Non soddisfare, Signore, i desideri dei malvagi,non favorire le loro trame.Alzano
10 Let burning coals fall upon them! Let them be cast into pits, no more to rise!	10 la testa quelli che mi circondano;ma la malizia delle loro labbra li sommerga!
11 Let not the slanderer be established in the land; let evil hunt down the violent man speedily!	11 Piovano su di loro carboni ardenti;gettali nella fossa e più non si rialzino.
12 I know that the LORD maintains the cause of the afflicted, and executes justice for the needy.	12 L’uomo maldicente non duri sulla terra,il male insegua l’uomo violento fino alla rovina.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to thy name; the upright shall dwell in thy presence.	13 So che il Signore difende la causa dei poveri,il diritto dei bisognosi.
	14 Sì, i giusti loderanno il tuo nome,gli uomini retti abiteranno alla tua presenza.
