| 1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; | 1 Beatus vir, qui non abiit in consilio impiorum et in via peccatorum non stetit et in conventu derisorum non sedit, |
| 2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. | 2 sed in lege Domini voluntas eius, et in lege eius meditatur die ac nocte. |
| 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. | 3 Et erit tamquam lignum plantatum secus decursus aquarum, quod fructum suum dabit in tempore suo; et folium eius non defluet, et omnia, quaecumque faciet, prosperabuntur. |
| 4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff which the wind drives away. | 4 Non sic impii, non sic, sed tamquam pulvis, quem proicit ventus. |
| 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; | 5 Ideo non consurgent impii in iudicio, neque peccatores in concilio iustorum. |
| 6 for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. | 6 Quoniam novit Dominus viam iustorum, et iter impiorum peribit. |
