Job 32

1 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.	1 Ama három férfi pedig felhagyott azzal, hogy Jóbnak válaszoljon, mivel igaznak tartotta magát.
2 Then Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became angry. He was angry at Job because he justified himself rather than God;	2 Ekkor haragra gyúlt és fölbosszankodott a búzi Eliú, Barákel fia, Rám nemzetségéből; azért gerjedt haragra Jób ellen, mert magát Istennel szemben igaznak hirdette.
3 he was angry also at Job's three friends because they had found no answer, although they had declared Job to be in the wrong.	3 De a barátai ellen is haragra lobbant, mivel nem találtak okos feleletet és Jóbot csak kárhoztatták.
4 Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because they were older than he.	4 Eliú azonban várakozott, ameddig Jóbbal beszéltek, mivel azok, akik a szót vitték, öregebbek voltak.
5 And when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, he became angry.	5 De amikor látta, hogy a három férfi már kifogyott a válaszból, nagy haragra lobbant.
6 And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered: "I am young in years, and you are aged; therefore I was timid and afraid to declare my opinion to you.	6 Megszólalt tehát a búzi Eliú, Barákel fia, és ezt mondta: »Ifjabb vagyok korra, ti pedig öregebbek, ezért lehajtottam fejemet, és nem mertem közölni veletek nézetemet.
7 I said, 'Let days speak, and many years teach wisdom.'	7 Gondoltam: Hadd szóljon az öregkor, és hirdesse a bölcsességet az évek sokasága.
8 But it is the spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand.	8 De úgy látom, az emberben a szellem s a Mindenható lehelete az, ami okossá tesz.
9 It is not the old that are wise, nor the aged that understand what is right.	9 Nem azok a bölcsek, akiknek hosszú az életük, és nem a vének tudják, mi az igazság.
10 Therefore I say, 'Listen to me; let me also declare my opinion.'	10 Azért mondom: Hallgassatok rám, hadd mutassam meg én is bölcsességemet!
11 "Behold, I waited for your words, I listened for your wise sayings, while you searched out what to say.	11 Megvártam tehát szavaitokat, és lestem bölcsességteket; mialatt a beszédeket megvitattátok,
12 I gave you my attention, and, behold, there was none that confuted Job, or that answered his words, among you.	12 odafigyeltem, mert azt hittem, hogy mondotok valamit, de úgy látom, nem akadt, aki Jóbot megcáfolja, aki megfelelne közületek szavaira.
13 Beware lest you say, 'We have found wisdom; God may vanquish him, not man.'	13 Ne mondjátok: ‘Mi megtaláltuk a bölcsességet: Isten terítette le őt, nem ember!’
14 He has not directed his words against me, and I will not answer him with your speeches.	14 Semmit sem szólt ő ellenem, én sem válaszolok neki a ti szavaitokkal.
15 "They are discomfited, they answer no more; they have not a word to say.	15 Visszariadtak, nem felelnek többé, kifogytak a szavakból.
16 And shall I wait, because they do not speak, because they stand there, and answer no more?	16 Mivel tehát vártam és nem szóltak, megálltak és nem feleltek többé,
17 I also will give my answer; I also will declare my opinion.	17 én is elmondom részemet, én is feltárom tudományomat!
18 For I am full of words, the spirit within me constrains me.	18 Mert tele vagyok beszéddel, és unszol a szellem testemben;
19 Behold, my heart is like wine that has no vent; like new wineskins, it is ready to burst.	19 A bensőm, íme! Olyan, mint a must, amely nem jut levegőhöz, s az új tömlőt is szétveti.
20 I must speak, that I may find relief; I must open my lips and answer.	20 Beszélek, hogy levegőhöz jussak, kinyitom ajkamat, hogy válaszoljak.
21 I will not show partiality to any person or use flattery toward any man.	21 Nem fogom pártját senkinek sem, s egy embernek sem akarok én hízelegni,
22 For I do not know how to flatter, else would my Maker soon put an end to me.	22 mert nem értek a hízelgéshez, hisz egyhamar elszólítana engem a Teremtőm!
