1 "Then bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the people of Israel, to serve me as priests--Aaron and Aaron's sons, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	1 Entre todos los israelitas, elige a tu hermano Aarón, y ordénale que se acerque a ti para que sea mi sacerdote. Manda que se acerquen también sus hijos Nadab, Abihú, Eleazar e Itamar.
2 And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.	2 Luego harás las vestiduras sagradas de tu hermano Aarón, a fin de que esté magníficamente ataviado.
3 And you shall speak to all who have ability, whom I have endowed with an able mind, that they make Aaron's garments to consecrate him for my priesthood.	3 Para ello tendrás que recurrir a los artesanos más competentes, a aquellos que yo he dotado de una habilidad excepcional, y ellos confeccionarán las vestiduras de Aarón, a fin de que sea consagrado para ejercer mi sacerdocio.
4 These are the garments which they shall make: a breastpiece, an ephod, a robe, a coat of checker work, a turban, and a girdle; they shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother and his sons to serve me as priests.	4 Las vestiduras que harán son las siguientes: un pectoral, un efod, un manto, una túnica bordada, un turbante y una faja. Y cuando hagan las vestiduras sagradas para que Aarón y sus hijos puedan cumplir sus funciones sacerdotales,
5 "They shall receive gold, blue and purple and scarlet stuff, and fine twined linen.	5 emplearán oro, púrpura violeta y escarlata, carmesí y lino fino.
6 And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet stuff, and of fine twined linen, skillfully worked.	6 El efod lo harán de oro, de púrpura violeta y escarlata, de carmesí y lino fino reforzado, todo esto trabajado artísticamente.
7 It shall have two shoulder-pieces attached to its two edges, that it may be joined together.	7 Llevará aplicadas dos hombreras, y así quedará unido por sus dos extremos.
8 And the skillfully woven band upon it, to gird it on, shall be of the same workmanship and materials, of gold, blue and purple and scarlet stuff, and fine twined linen.	8 El cinturón para ajustarlo formará una sola pieza con él y estará confeccionado de la misma forma: será de oro, de púrpura violeta y escarlata, de carmesí y de lino fino reforzado.
9 And you shall take two onyx stones, and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel,	9 Después tomarás dos piedras de lapislázuli y grabarás en ellas los nombres de los hijos de Israel
10 six of their names on the one stone, and the names of the remaining six on the other stone, in the order of their birth.	10 –seis en una piedra y seis en la otra– por orden de nacimiento.
11 As a jeweler engraves signets, so shall you engrave the two stones with the names of the sons of Israel; you shall enclose them in settings of gold filigree.	11 Para grabar las dos piedras con los nombres de los hijos de Israel, te valdrás de artistas apropiados, que lo harán de la misma manera que se graban los sellos. Luego las harás engarzar en oro,
12 And you shall set the two stones upon the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, as stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel; and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for remembrance.	12 y las colocarás sobre las hombreras del efod. Esas piedras serán un memorial en favor de los israelitas. Así Aarón llevará esos nombres sobre sus hombros hasta la presencia del Señor, para mantener vivo su recuerdo.
13 And you shall make settings of gold filigree,	13 Harás, además, los engastes de oro
14 and two chains of pure gold, twisted like cords; and you shall attach the corded chains to the settings.	14 y dos cadenas de oro puro, trenzadas a manera de cordones, que luego fijarás en los engastes.
15 "And you shall make a breastpiece of judgment, in skilled work; like the work of the ephod you shall make it; of gold, blue and purple and scarlet stuff, and fine twined linen shall you make it.	15 También harás el pectoral del juicio de Dios, trabajado artísticamente y confeccionado de la misma manera que el efod. Lo harás de oro, de púrpura violeta y escarlata, de carmesí y de lino fino reforzado.
16 It shall be square and double, a span its length and a span its breadth.	16 Deberá ser cuadrado y de doble paño, de un palmo de largo y otro de ancho.
17 And you shall set in it four rows of stones. A row of sardius, topaz, and carbuncle shall be the first row;	17 Lo guarnecerás de piedras preciosas, dispuestas en cuatro hileras: en la primera habrá un jaspe rojo, un topacio y una esmeralda;
18 and the second row an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond;	18 en la segunda, un rubí, un zafiro y un diamante;
19 and the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;	19 en la tercera, un ágata, una cornalina y una amatista;
20 and the fourth row a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper; they shall be set in gold filigree.	20 y en la cuarta, un crisólito, un lapislázuli y un jaspe verde. Todas ellas estarán engarzadas en oro.
21 There shall be twelve stones with their names according to the names of the sons of Israel; they shall be like signets, each engraved with its name, for the twelve tribes.	21 Las piedras serán doce en total, como los nombres de los hijos de Israel, y cada una llevará grabado el nombre de una de las doce tribus, como se graban los sellos.
22 And you shall make for the breastpiece twisted chains like cords, of pure gold;	22 Además, harás para el pectoral unas cadenas de oro puro, trenzadas a manera de cordones,
23 and you shall make for the breastpiece two rings of gold, and put the two rings on the two edges of the breastpiece.	23 y dos argollas de oro, que luego ajustarás a sus dos extremos superiores.
24 And you shall put the two cords of gold in the two rings at the edges of the breastpiece;	24 Sujetarás las dos puntas de las cadenas de oro en las dos argollas que están en los extremos superiores del pectoral;
25 the two ends of the two cords you shall attach to the two settings of filigree, and so attach it in front to the shoulder-pieces of the ephod.	25 y unirás las otras dos puntas a unos engastes, para poder colocarlas sobre las hombreras del efod, por la parte de adelante.
26 And you shall make two rings of gold, and put them at the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inside edge next to the ephod.	26 Harás, asimismo, dos argollas de oro y las ajustarás a los dos extremos inferiores del pectoral, sobre el borde interior, el que da hacia el efod.
27 And you shall make two rings of gold, and attach them in front to the lower part of the two shoulder-pieces of the ephod, at its joining above the skillfully woven band of the ephod.	27 También forjarás otras dos argollas de oro, adhiriéndolas a las dos hombreras del efod, por la parte de adelante y bien hacia abajo, o sea, cerca de la costura y encima del cinturón.
28 And they shall bind the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may lie upon the skillfully woven band of the ephod, and that the breastpiece shall not come loose from the ephod.	28 Así el pectoral se podrá sujetar haciendo pasar, entre sus argollas y las argollas del efod, un cordón de púrpura violeta, para que el pectoral quede fijo sobre el cinturón y no se desprenda del efod.
29 So Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastpiece of judgment upon his heart, when he goes into the holy place, to bring them to continual remembrance before the LORD.	29 Cada vez que Aarón entre en el Santuario, llevará sobre su corazón, en el pectoral del juicio de Dios, los nombres de los hijos de Israel, para mantener siempre vivo el recuerdo de ellos en la presencia del Señor.
30 And in the breastpiece of judgment you shall put the Urim and the Thummim, and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goes in before the LORD; thus Aaron shall bear the judgment of the people of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually.	30 En el pectoral del juicio de Dios introducirás, además, el Urim y el Tumim, a fin de que Aarón los tenga sobre su pecho cuando se presente delante del Señor. Así Aarón llevará siempre sobre su pecho, en la presencia del Señor, el dictamen de Dios para los Israelitas.
31 "And you shall make the robe of the ephod all of blue.	31 También harás el manto del efod, todo de púrpura violeta.
32 It shall have in it an opening for the head, with a woven binding around the opening, like the opening in a garment, that it may not be torn.	32 En el centro tendrá una abertura para que pueda pasar la cabeza; y esa abertura tendrá un dobladillo alrededor, como el cuello de una cota de guerrero, para que no se rasgue.
33 On its skirts you shall make pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet stuff, around its skirts, with bells of gold between them,	33 Adornarás el ruedo con granadas de púrpura violeta y escarlata, de carmesí y de lino fino reforzado, intercaladas con campanillas de oro.
34 a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, round about on the skirts of the robe.	34 Las campanillas de oro y las granadas estarán dispuestas alternadamente, una al lado de otra, a lo largo de todo el ruedo.
35 And it shall be upon Aaron when he ministers, and its sound shall be heard when he goes into the holy place before the LORD, and when he comes out, lest he die.	35 Aarón irá revestido del manto para ejercer su función sacerdotal, y el sonido de las campanillas tendrá que oírse cuando entre en el Santuario, delante del Señor, y cuando salga de él. Así no morirá.
36 "And you shall make a plate of pure gold, and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet, 'Holy to the LORD.'	36 Además harás una flor de oro puro, y grabarás en ella, como se graban los sellos: «Consagrado al Señor».
37 And you shall fasten it on the turban by a lace of blue; it shall be on the front of the turban.	37 La sujetarás con una cinta de púrpura violeta, y así quedará fija sobre la parte delantera del turbante.
38 It shall be upon Aaron's forehead, and Aaron shall take upon himself any guilt incurred in the holy offering which the people of Israel hallow as their holy gifts; it shall always be upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.	38 Aarón la llevará sobre su frente, para que pueda cargar con las faltas que los israelitas cometan al presentar sus ofrendas sagradas; y la flor estará siempre sobre su frente para que esas ofrendas sean aceptables al Señor.
39 "And you shall weave the coat in checker work of fine linen, and you shall make a turban of fine linen, and you shall make a girdle embroidered with needlework.	39 Tejerás la túnica con lino fijo, y también harás un turbante de lino fino y una faja recamada artísticamente.
40 "And for Aaron's sons you shall make coats and girdles and caps; you shall make them for glory and beauty.	40 Harás túnicas, fajas y mitras para los hijos de Aarón, a fin de que estén magníficamente ataviados.
41 And you shall put them upon Aaron your brother, and upon his sons with him, and shall anoint them and ordain them and consecrate them, that they may serve me as priests.	41 Así vestirás a tu hermano Aarón y a sus hijos. Luego los ungirás, los investirás y los consagrarás para que ejerzan mi sacerdocio.
42 And you shall make for them linen breeches to cover their naked flesh; from the loins to the thighs they shall reach;	42 También les harás unos pantalones de lino para cubrirse desde la cintura hasta los muslos.
43 and they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they go into the tent of meeting, or when they come near the altar to minister in the holy place; lest they bring guilt upon themselves and die. This shall be a perpetual statute for him and for his descendants after him.	43 Aarón y sus hijos los usarán cuando entren en la Carpa del Encuentro o se acerquen al altar para el culto del Santuario. De esa manera, no incurrirán en culpa y no morirán. Este es un decreto irrevocable para Aarón y sus descendientes.
