Exodus 24

1 And he said to Moses, "Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship afar off.	1 E certo a Moisè disse: vieni su al Signore, tu ed Aaron, Nadab ed Abiu, e Lxx vecchi d'Israel; e adorerete dalla lunga.
2 Moses alone shall come near to the LORD; but the others shall not come near, and the people shall not come up with him."	2 E solo Moisè venga su al Signore; e quelli non si approssimeranno, nè il popolo salga con lui.
3 Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, "All the words which the LORD has spoken we will do."	3 Venne adunque Moisè, e narrò alla gente tutte le parole del Signore (le quali ha dette) e li giudicii; e rispose tutto il popolo con una voce: tutto quello hae parlato il Signore, faremo.
4 And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD. And he rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.	4 E scrisse Moisè tutte le parole del Signore; e la mattina, levandosi, edificò l'altare alla radice del monte, e dodici titoli (cioè nomi) per le XII tribù d'Israel.
5 And he sent young men of the people of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the LORD.	5 E mandd giovani de' figliuoli d'Israel, e offersero li sacrificii; e sacrificarono le vittime pacifiche al Signore (XII), vitelli.
6 And Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he threw against the altar.	6 E tolse Moisè la mezza parte del sangue, e miselo nella coppa; e l'altra parte sparse sopra l'altare.
7 Then he took the book of the covenant, and read it in the hearing of the people; and they said, "All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient."	7 E togliendo lo volume del patto (cioè il libro) lesse udendo il popolo; li quali dissero: ogni cosa che ha detto lo Signore faremo, e saremo obbedienti.
8 And Moses took the blood and threw it upon the people, and said, "Behold the blood of the covenant which the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words."	8 Ma lui, tolto lo sangue, gittollo sopra lo popolo, e disse; questo si è lo sangue del patto, il quale ha pattuito lo Signore a voi sopra tutte queste parole (le quali seguitano, dette a Moisè da Dio no stro Signore).
9 Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up,	9 Andarono Moisè ed Aaron e Nadab e Abiu e Lxx de' più vecchi d'Israel;
10 and they saw the God of Israel; and there was under his feet as it were a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness.	10 e viddero lo Dio d'Israel, e sotto li piedi suoi viddero quasi lo lavoro di pietra di zaffiro, e quasi cielo quando è sereno.
11 And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and ate and drank.	11 Nè sopra loro delli figliuoli d'Israel, i quali da lungi erano fuggiti, miseno la mano sua; e vid dero Iddio, e mangiarono e beverono.
12 The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain, and wait there; and I will give you the tables of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction."	12 E disse lo Signore a Moisè: vieni (a me) nel monte e istà quivi; ed io darò a te due tavole di pietra, e la legge e li comandamenti li quali io hoe scritti, che tu gl'insegni alli figliuoli d'Israel.
13 So Moses rose with his servant Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God.	13 E levaronsi Moisè e Iosuè suo ministro; e andando Moisè nel monte di Dio,
14 And he said to the elders, "Tarry here for us, until we come to you again; and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you; whoever has a cause, let him go to them."	14 alli più vecchi disse: aspettate insino che noi ritorniamo. Voi avete Aaron ed Ur con voi; se alcuna questione nascesse tra voi, portatele a loro.
15 Then Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.	15 E quando saliva Moisè (nel monte), coperse una nuvola lo monte.
16 The glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.	16 E abitò la gloria del Signore sopra Sinai, coprendo quello la nuvola per ispazio di sei dì; ma il settimo chiamò lui nel mezzo dell' oscurità.
17 Now the appearance of the glory of the LORD was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel.	17 Ed era la specie della gloria del Signore, quasi come fuoco ardente, sopra la cima del monte nel cospetto de' figliuoli d'Israel.
18 And Moses entered the cloud, and went up on the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.	18 E venuto Moisè nel mezzo della nebbia, salie nel monte, e stettevi xL dì e xL notti.
