Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition Biblia Matos Soares
And he said to Moses, "Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship afar off.1 Disse também (Deus) a Moisés: Sobe ao Senhor tu e Aarão, Nadab e Abiu, com os setenta anciães de Israel, e adorareis de longe.
Moses alone shall come near to the LORD; but the others shall not come near, and the people shall not come up with him."2 Só Moisés subirá ao Senhor; os outros não se aproximarão, nem o povo subirá com ele.
Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, "All the words which the LORD has spoken we will do."3 Veio, pois, Moisés e referiu ao povo todas estas palavras do Senhor e as leis; e todo o povo respondeu a uma voz: Nós observaremos todas as palavras ditas pelo Senhor.
And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD. And he rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.4 Moisés escreveu todas as palavras do Senhor. Depois, levantou-se, de manhã, e erigiu um altar no sopé do monte, e doze padrões para as doze tribos de Israel,
And he sent young men of the people of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the LORD.5 e enviou jovens dentre os filhos de Israel, que ofereceram os seus holocaustos e imolaram ao Senhor vítimas pacíficas de novilhos.
And Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he threw against the altar.6 Moisés tomou metade do sangue e lançou-o em taças, e derramou e outra metade sobre o altar.
Then he took the book of the covenant, and read it in the hearing of the people; and they said, "All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient."7 Tomando o livro da aliança, o leu na presença do povo, o qual disse: Faremos tudo o que o Senhor disse, e seremos obedientes.
And Moses took the blood and threw it upon the people, and said, "Behold the blood of the covenant which the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words."8 (Moisés) tomou o sangue, derramou-o sobre o povo, e disse: Este é o sangue da aliança que o Senhor celebrou convosco, sobre todas estas palavras.
Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up,9 Moisés e Aarão, Nadab e Abiu, com os setenta anciães Israel subiram
and they saw the God of Israel; and there was under his feet as it were a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness.10 e viram o Deus de Israel: debaixo dos seus pés (estava) como que uma obra de pedra de safira, que se parecia com o céu, quando está sereno.
And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and ate and drank.11 Ora (o Senhor) não estendeu a sua mão contra os eleitos dos filhos de Israel que, depois de verem a Deus, comeram e beberam.
The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain, and wait there; and I will give you the tables of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction."12 O Senhor disse a Moisés: Sobe para mim ao monte, e deixa-te estar aí: e eu te darei as tábuas de pedra (com) a lei e os mandamentos, que (nelas) escrevi, para lhos ensinares.
So Moses rose with his servant Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God.13 Moisés e Josué, seu ministro, Ievantaram-se e, quando subiram ao monte de Deus,
And he said to the elders, "Tarry here for us, until we come to you again; and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you; whoever has a cause, let him go to them."14 Moisés disse aos anciães: Esperai aqui, até que voltaremos a vós. Tendes convosco Aarão e Hur; se sobrevier alguma questão, recorrei a eles.
Then Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.15 Tendo Moisés subido, a nuvem cobriu o monte,
The glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.16 e a glória do Senhor pousou sobre o Sinai, cobrindo-o com a nuvem durante seis dias: ao sétimo dia. Deus chamou Moisés do meio da escuridão (da nuvem).
Now the appearance of the glory of the LORD was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel.17 O aspecto da glória do Senhor era como o de um fogo ardente sobre o, cimo do monte, à vista dos filhos de Israel.
And Moses entered the cloud, and went up on the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.18 Entrando Moisés pelo meio da nuvem, subiu ao monte, e lá esteve quarenta dias e quarenta noites.
