Exodus 24

1 And he said to Moses, "Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship afar off.	1 El Señor dijo a Moisés: «Sube a encontrarte con el Señor en compañía de Aarón, Nadab y Abihú, y de setenta de los ancianos de Israel, y permanezcan postrados a distancia.
2 Moses alone shall come near to the LORD; but the others shall not come near, and the people shall not come up with him."	2 Tú serás el único que te acercarás al Señor. Que los demás no se acerquen y que el pueblo no suba contigo».
3 Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, "All the words which the LORD has spoken we will do."	3 Moisés fue a comunicar al pueblo todas las palabras y prescripciones del Señor, y el pueblo respondió a una sola voz: «Estamos decididos a poner en práctica todas las palabras que ha dicho el Señor».
4 And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD. And he rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.	4 Moisés consignó por escrito las palabras del Señor, y a la mañana siguiente, bien temprano, levantó un altar al pie de la montaña y erigió doce piedras en representación a las doce tribus de Israel.
5 And he sent young men of the people of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the LORD.	5 Después designó a un grupo de jóvenes israelitas, y ellos ofrecieron holocaustos e inmolaron terneros al Señor, en sacrificio de comunión.
6 And Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he threw against the altar.	6 Moisés tomó la mitad de la sangre, la puso en unos recipientes, y derramó la otra mitad sobre el altar.
7 Then he took the book of the covenant, and read it in the hearing of the people; and they said, "All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient."	7 Luego tomó el documento de la alianza y lo leyó delante del pueblo, el cual exclamó: «Estamos resueltos a poner en práctica y a obedecer todo lo que el Señor ha dicho».
8 And Moses took the blood and threw it upon the people, and said, "Behold the blood of the covenant which the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words."	8 Entonces Moisés tomó la sangre y roció con ella al pueblo, diciendo: «Esta es la sangre de la alianza que ahora el Señor hace con ustedes, según lo establecido en estas cláusulas».
9 Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up,	9 Luego Moisés subió en compañía de Aarón, Nadab, Abihú y de setenta de los ancianos,
10 and they saw the God of Israel; and there was under his feet as it were a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness.	10 y ellos vieron al Dios de Israel. A sus pies había algo así como una plataforma de lapislázuli, resplandeciente como el mismo cielo.
11 And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and ate and drank.	11 El Señor no extendió su mano contra esos privilegiados de Israel: ellos vieron a Dios, comieron y bebieron.
12 The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain, and wait there; and I will give you the tables of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction."	12 El Señor dijo a Moisés: «Sube hasta mí, a la montaña, y quédate aquí. Yo te daré las tablas de piedra, con la ley y los mandamientos, que escribí para instruirlos».
13 So Moses rose with his servant Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God.	13 Entonces Moisés se levantó junto con Josué, su ayudante, y subió a la montaña de Dios.
14 And he said to the elders, "Tarry here for us, until we come to you again; and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you; whoever has a cause, let him go to them."	14 El había dicho a los ancianos de Israel: «Espérennos aquí, hasta nuestro regreso. Con ustedes quedarán Aarón y Jur: el que tenga algún pleito que se dirija a ellos».
15 Then Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.	15 Y Luego subió a la montaña. La nube cubrió la montaña,
16 The glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.	16 y la gloria del Señor se estableció sobre la montaña del Sinaí, que estuvo cubierta por la nube durante seis días. Al séptimo día, el Señor llamó a Moisés desde la nube.
17 Now the appearance of the glory of the LORD was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel.	17 El aspecto de la gloria del Señor era a los ojos de los israelitas como un fuego devorador sobre la cumbre de la montaña.
18 And Moses entered the cloud, and went up on the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.	18 Moisés entró en la nube y subió a la montaña. Allí permaneció cuarenta días y cuarenta noches.
