1 Now when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah and broke in pieces the pillars and hewed down the Asherim and broke down the high places and the altars throughout all Judah and Benjamin, and in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the people of Israel returned to their cities, every man to his possession.	1 Nachdem dies alles beendet war, zogen alle Israeliten, die da waren, in die Städte Judas hinaus, zertrümmerten die Weihesteine, hieben die Ascheren um und zerstörten die Höhen und Altäre von ganz Juda, Benjamin, Ephraim und Manasse vollständig. Dann kehrten alle Israeliten in ihre Städte zurück, ein jeder zu seinem Erbbesitz.
2 And Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and of the Levites, division by division, each according to his service, the priests and the Levites, for burnt offerings and peace offerings, to minister in the gates of the camp of the LORD and to give thanks and praise.	2 Hiskia stellte die Priester und Leviten abteilungsweise nach ihren Dienstklassen auf, jeden nach Maßgabe seines priesterlichen oder levitischen Dienstes, zum Darbringen der Brand- und Friedopfer, zum Vortrag der Dank- und Loblieder und zum Dienst an den Toren des Lagers des Herrn.
3 The contribution of the king from his own possessions was for the burnt offerings: the burnt offerings of morning and evening, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, the new moons, and the appointed feasts, as it is written in the law of the LORD.	3 Der Beitrag des Königs aus seiner eigenen Habe diente für die Brandopfer, für die Morgen- und Abendopfer und für die Brandopfer an den Sabbaten, den Neumonden und den Festzeiten, wie sie im Gesetz des Herrn vorgeschrieben sind.
4 And he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give the portion due to the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the law of the LORD.	4 Er befahl dem Volk, den Bewohnern Jerusalems, den Priestern und Leviten den gebührenden Anteil abzuliefern, damit sie sich dem Gesetz des Herrn widmen könnten.
5 As soon as the command was spread abroad, the people of Israel gave in abundance the first fruits of grain, wine, oil, honey, and of all the produce of the field; and they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything.	5 Sobald sich diese Anordnung verbreitete, lieferten die Israeliten in Fülle die Erstlinge von Getreide, Most, Öl, Honig und allem Ertrag des Feldes ab und brachten mengenweise den Zehnten von allem.
6 And the people of Israel and Judah who lived in the cities of Judah also brought in the tithe of cattle and sheep, and the dedicated things which had been consecrated to the LORD their God, and laid them in heaps.	6 Die Israeliten und Judäer, die in den Städten Judas wohnten, brachten ebenfalls den Zehnten vom Großvieh und Kleinvieh und die Weihegaben, die dem Herrn, ihrem Gott, geweiht wurden; sie legten es in einzelnen Haufen nieder.
7 In the third month they began to pile up the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.	7 Im dritten Monat begannen sie, die Haufen aufzuschütten; im siebten Monat waren sie damit fertig.
8 When Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD and his people Israel.	8 Hiskia kam mit den Fürsten herbei. Sie sahen die Haufen und priesen den Herrn und sein Volk Israel.
9 And Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites about the heaps.	9 Hiskia erkundigte sich bei den Priestern und Leviten wegen der Haufen.
10 Azariah the chief priest, who was of the house of Zadok, answered him, "Since they began to bring the contributions into the house of the LORD we have eaten and had enough and have plenty left; for the LORD has blessed his people, so that we have this great store left."	10 Asarja, der Hohepriester aus dem Hause Zadok, antwortete ihm und sprach: "Seitdem man begonnen hat, die Abgaben zum Haus des Herrn zu bringen, essen wir gut und werden gesättigt und lassen noch eine Menge übrig; denn der Herr segnete sein Volk, und wir haben noch diese Menge übrig."
11 Then Hezekiah commanded them to prepare chambers in the house of the LORD; and they prepared them.	11 Hiskia befahl nun, Vorratskammern im Haus des Herrn herzustellen, und man legte sie an.
12 And they faithfully brought in the contributions, the tithes and the dedicated things. The chief officer in charge of them was Conaniah the Levite, with Shime-i his brother as second;	12 Dann brachten sie die Abgaben, die Zehnten und Weihegaben redlich hinein. Der Levit Konanja wurde zum Oberaufseher darüber bestellt und sein Bruder Schimi als Stellvertreter.
13 while Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers assisting Conaniah and Shime-i his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king and Azariah the chief officer of the house of God.	13 Jechiël, Asasja, Nachat, Asahel, Jerimot, Josabad, Eliel, Jismachja, Machat und Benaja waren Wächter unter Konanja und dessen Bruder Schimi auf Geheiß des Königs Hiskia und Asarjas, des Fürsten im Gotteshaus.
14 And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, keeper of the east gate, was over the freewill offerings to God, to apportion the contribution reserved for the LORD and the most holy offerings.	14 Der Levit Kore, der Sohn Jimnas, der Torhüter an der Ostseite, war zum Aufseher über die freiwilligen Spenden für Gott gesetzt, damit die für den Herrn bestimmte Abgabe und das Hochheilige ausgeliefert würden.
15 Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah were faithfully assisting him in the cities of the priests, to distribute the portions to their brethren, old and young alike, by divisions,	15 Ihm standen Eden, Minjamin, Jesua, Schemaja, Amarja und Schechanja in den Städten der Priester getreulich zur Seite, um ihren Amtsbrüdern, den Vornehmen ebenso wie den Geringen, abteilungsweise ihre Anteile zukommen zu lassen.
16 except those enrolled by genealogy, males from three years old and upwards, all who entered the house of the LORD as the duty of each day required, for their service according to their offices, by their divisions.	16 Davon abgesehen, waren die männlichen Personen von drei Jahren an ins Verzeichnis aufgenommen, und zwar von allen, die, der täglichen Pflicht entsprechend, abteilungsweise zur Erfüllung ihres Dienstes zum Tempel kamen.
17 The enrollment of the priests was according to their fathers' houses; that of the Levites from twenty years old and upwards was according to their offices, by their divisions.	17 Das Verzeichnis der Priester hatte man nach den betreffenden Familien, das der Leviten von zwanzig Jahren an nach ihren Amtspflichten in ihren Abteilungen angefertigt.
18 The priests were enrolled with all their little children, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, the whole multitude; for they were faithful in keeping themselves holy.	18 Die Eintragung mußte bei jeder Gemeinschaft mit Einschluß aller Kleinkinder, Frauen, Söhne und Töchter geschehen; denn durch ihr festes Amt wurden auch diese geheiligt.
19 And for the sons of Aaron, the priests, who were in the fields of common land belonging to their cities, there were men in the several cities who were designated by name to distribute portions to every male among the priests and to every one among the Levites who was enrolled.	19 Für die Söhne Aarons, die Priester, die auf den Weidegebieten ihrer Ortschaften wohnten, waren in jeder Stadt Leute bestellt, die namentlich bestimmt waren, um allen männlichen Angehörigen der Priester und allen im Verzeichnis stehenden Leviten Anteile abzuliefern.
20 Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah; and he did what was good and right and faithful before the LORD his God.	20 So handelte Hiskia in ganz Juda und tat, was gut, recht und getreu war vor dem Herrn, seinem Gott.
21 And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered.	21 Bei jedem Unternehmen, das er im Dienst des Hauses Gottes oder sonst im Hinblick auf das Gesetz und das Gebot begann, um seinen Gott zu suchen, handelte er in ganzer Herzenshingabe und hatte deshalb Erfolg.
